We were given an 11.25am reservation at Chef Mickeys. I only booked it today and it's for next week, so I guess I'm lucky, but I looked at their hours and they close at 11.30am. Do you think it's a bad time? Will they start clearing the buffet while we're still serving ourselves? Or worse, will there still be food in the buffet? Will the characters disappear?

You would not have been given the table if everything disappears.

They will start consolidating the food to one buffet line, and characters will probably only make one round before they leave for their cheese. ;)

You might want to arrive closer to 11am to see if they will seat you early, as that will give you plenty of time. Depending upon how many people are with you I'd bet that you will be seated somewhat quickly at that hour.

I agree- I'd switch to an earlier time. There would be nothing worse if you didn't get the see the characters for very long, and then the food started to disappear!!

We had a late ADR at CM back in 2005 and the character interaction was AWESOME. Because they were not mobbed by so many kids, they spent more time with my children. I even have a group picture with my 2 boys and all the characters together. As we were leaving all the characters were at the front together playing with the few kids that were left. I would keep that time. What we did was we got to MK at rope drop. We ate something very light in the room like pop tarts or something and then used the CM breakfast as our lunch for the day and we were full until dinner.

It worked out great for us. Hope you have a wonderful time.

Actually its a much better time to see the characters as they typically have fewer and fewer guests - we were there a few weeks ago at that time for breakfast and we were one of the last parties to leave (there were probably about 4-5 left at the very end). The characters at one point came together and did some group pictures with some families and spent alot of time with the people left. The character handlers also made sure that every family left had seen all the characters.

In addition they were changing out food the entire time...in fact at one point there was a fairly full container of something hot and they switched it out fresh and again it was when there were very few families left.

They will not break the buffet until the last Guest has left.

we had a very similar experience, right down to using that late breakfast to tide us over til dinner.

DON'T CHANGE! We did late breakfast last June on the day we were leaving. It was the best character interaction we've ever had. Donald kept coming back and messing with our 13 year old son. He had a new routine every time he came by. My favorite was pointing to my daughter's biceps and showing how huge they were. Then pointing to my son's and showing how puny they were. He had us rolling in the aisles.......

We've eaten at CM's many times through the years, and this was the best. And it's because people were clearing out and they had more time with us!

This all sounds good to me ! We have a 10:55 ADR for our June trip. CANNOT WAIT!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

I read on the boards once that the late evening dinnes are the best because the dinner crowds start thinning out and you have the characters all to yourselves.

I decided to give it a try at LTT. The dinner crowd did thin out there were maybe a few tables still there besides us. But the characters also left. The CM announce that the characters were leaving for the night.:sad1:

We have had an 11:20 ADR 2x and LOVED IT!!! Food ws hot and fresh. Character interaction was GREAT. Due to crowds being gone we even got several GROUP shots with 3 or 4 characters:dance3:!!!!!!!

We LOVE the last breafkast seating, not just at Chef M's but at any character meal. We have found that the character interaction is so much better then since there are fewer people for them to visit with.

This is one of our best secrets.

Get a late breakfast seating, call it lunch, and sit back and enjoy!

At 1900 Park Faire, Alice in Wonderland took my daughter up to get her dessert, helped her with the ice cream machine, and chatted with her for about 10 minutes.

At Chef Mickey's, we were one of three families left and we got a group photo with all the characters.
