I booked 11:25 am flights for our return home, and am now wondering if that will be a little rushed. At this point we have main dinner seating, which means 6:45 breakfast seating, but I've pretty much decided to switch to late seating, which means last morning breakfast seating is at 8:00. My dilemna...can we safely eat breakfast and use a rental car and still make it to our flight, or should we use Happy Limo for the trip to the airport ? I really hate buffets, so don't want to eat at Topsiders, and I am very cheap, so would prefer to go the rental car route. What does everyone think ?

Assuming that the ship has no problems clearing customs, you should be fine. Make sure that you are one of the first families off the boat and pick up your rental car ASAP. Most of the Port Canaveral rental car agencies only have 1 or 2 clerks working.

Have a great cruise!

We've been off boat everytime by 8:30 a.m. Shouldn't be a problem at all. In fact, we couldn't get the 11:15 a.m. flight to return after our next cruise so we are on the 1:15 p.m. and are wondering what we are going to do at the airport for 2 hours with 4 grandchildren after 10 days at Christmas since we are shuttling it back!

We had a light breakfast. Ran up to Topsiders and brought some cereal back to the room (we are not morning people LOL!)

We got on line to get off the ship aound 8:00, walked through customs without a problem.

We were off the Magic and in our car by 8:45. Got to MCO aound 9:45 BUT we used Tiffany Towncar not a rental car.

To allow time for any lines at the car rental, you may want have your breakfast as early as possible so you can be one of the first ones off the ship.

We had scheduled a 2:00 flight home. Yes, we had to kill a few hours at the airport but we had lunch at the food court and we brought along books to read and the kids played cards. Plus my kids are teenagers not little ones!

But that's just me, I didn't want to end my relaxing vacation by being stressed over whether I'd make my flight home!

Have fun!

WE had a 11:40 a.m. flight home and it was no problem. We used the Disney bus to go back to the airport with over an hour to spare. I would recommed the transfers from Disney. If they have any open seats the restraunts were letting people sit for the early breakfast.

Thanks to all...now I'm not as nervous...I just did not want to sit at the airport in addition to sitting on the plane for 5.5 hours...

I don't want to rain on your parade.....

we had early breakfast 6:45. But with toddlers in tow, we had to go potty. Don't do it! The line for the bathrooms was very long. We had a very long line to disembark, which moved quickly. But when we got to the luggage warehouse, we were missing a bag. So it was 8:30 before we got out of the terminal.

The line to check luggage was very long. And it was 9:30 before we were on our way in our towncar to MCO.

So we got to MCO at 10:30 - which would be plenty of time to get to an 11:25 flight - if the security line isn't 45 minutes long! Which it was when we got there. We weren't flying out until 2:00, so it wasn't a big deal to us.

In other words, if things don't go well, you'll be cutting it close. I'd skip breakfast and get off the ship early - there is plenty to eat at the MCO airport.

I would highly recommend Happy Limo. we rented a car but had to wait for their shuttle plus wait in line at Hertz and fill out all the paperwork. The line up at security in MCO is at least 45 minutes long all the time. You can be cheap but if you have to pay a change fee of $100 US per ticket you'll wish you spent the extra money on a limo! Have an awesome trip!

I knew I shouldn't have checked this again !!! We will probably either eat at Topsiders...do they have lox and bagels and breakfast meats the last morning ? Or rent Happy Limo for the trip back...You have to understand, we aren't cruising till 10/16...I would be stressing about this now. I'm not too worried about the potty break thing...my DS will be 14, and he is autistic, and like most autistic children his bladder is the size of his body, so there are NEVER potty breaks...but I can see my very polite DH getting hung up at the car rental place...Again, thanks to all who posted, I appreciate the feedback, and my DH does not want to hear my decision making process !!! "I don't care what cabin, I don't care what dinner seating...you always do a good job, don't worry about it !"...so of course I do.
