Cold at night but in the 70's all week long!! ALL WEEK!!!!

The week is half gone today, so that should brighten your work week everyone.

Pretty quiet again today. Plumber coming this afternoon to fix the leaky shower, thank goodness it is under warranty.

Then Minnie has a vet appointment to check her because of changes in the odor of her saliva. Hopefully it is nothing.

Cruisemutt and Woogal: *chuckle* You so crazeeee!!!

Holly: *yeouch!!!*

Today is "meeting day." I showed my hubby my schedule and he winced. :rotfl: And then he was amazed at my phone being almost dead after getting charged yesterday... Umm, yeah, baby, I actually do use it, with the whole working from home thing! *teehee!* I think being on the phone all day is his version of torture.

Oh, and it looks like EIGHT weeks straight of snow; flurries are expected on Sunday. But hey, we're no longer so worried about drought! :thumbsup2

Ok, need to get ready for the day. *wave*

Just checked my credit card statement online and the deposit is showing, so hopefully I will have some cabin information soon. Woogal...once I get that I will send you our information. Also, do any of you guys have passports or are getting them? I saw something about the dates for them being required was moved past the date of this cruise, but it still seems like they are reccommended. Our TA said it was a good idea to go ahead and get them. Also, I ordered the new addition of the Disney Cruise Passporter. We really enjoyed using them for our park visits so I hope the cruise version is as good. Just when I thought I had the parks figured out.....but hey, that is half of the fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

In case of medical emergency, it would be good if you had a passport. If you needed to get off the ship and fly home at a foreign port, you would need a passport to get back in the country.

We got passports when we took Fiona to Paris for her first birthday in December, 2005. No big deal. We have an office in Denver, so it was less than a week for turn-around. I already had my passport from a business trip to India.

Be sure to check your expirations, by the way, before you go out of the country. Always make sure to have at least 7 months before it expires from the time you expect to return!! Crazy requirement, I know, but it's easier to tell you to check versus track which countries need this.

Hope that helps someone!

We just applied for our passports about 3 weeks ago, maybe 4. Decided we may as well get them because we cruise so often. When ever the deadline gets close they will get really busy and I dont want to have to sweat out the time frame before a cruise.
Now at least we dont have to worry about it for a few years.

Kathy

I think it's a good idea - our friends were on the Eastern when her father died - they had to fly home from St. Thomas. It's not worth the risk.

Lady Shiva, I've missed it probably, but what is it you do? (ALways looking for a way to work from home.)

It got all the way up to 15 here, today. Is anybody jealous? lol.

I do corporate IT policy for a major bank. My boss keeps threatening to actually get me an office, and I keep "forgetting" to remind her to put in the request. ;) She works in San Francisco, and my co-worker and I work around Denver. I can push paper and be on telephone conferences just fine from my house.

morning everyone,

Boy it is foggy this morning, so glad I am not having to drive today. But it is suppose to burn off soon and start warming up.

Well the shower is all fixed, at no cost which is great.
Going to fix tacos tonight, nothing special happening today.

Let's keep us bumped up again today. No page 2 for us.

Kathy

Hey what are we doing on page 2?
You folks have been busy. I've actually had to work this week. I have a new demanding client (but a fun account) that I haven't whipped into shape yet. Perhaps I can borrow that whip from Kathy so that I have more time to spend here!

Welcome to the new families.
And thanks to Linda for the cookbook. It looks awesome!

Like most everyone here we have been FREEZING in the 'burgh. Kids had 2 days off school this week and a 2 hour delay yesterday. Today it was colder than yesterday but they went in at regular time. I really don't understand how these decisions are made. It seems like they have a "rule" about wind chill until they have too many days off or delays and then to h*ll with the rule. Oh well. Elizabeth had lots of fun on her 2 days off - 2 sleepovers with 2 different friends. But she was really ready to get back yesterday.

Oh boy, back to work for me.

jeff

Howdy Jeff,
glad you dropped by, your welcome to borrow the whip anytime;)

I heard tons of loud booms today and plenty of sirens to go along with them, but I havnt heard what it was. All together it lasted aout 30 minutes. It was really strange.

I have been sitting out in the warm sun relaxing today, that really felt nice for a change.
Then I made some carrot cake which really smells good!! Needs to sit a day for the flavors to develope correctly. I made it in a loaf pan, instead of a cake a pan, just slice and eat. Greg and Peter like a little reddi whip on it, no icing. It is actually a healthy dessert, no cholesterol, trace of fat, I make it with a sugar substitute,so no sugar. Everyone loves it, I just never told them it was a healthy choice for a dessert or they probably wouldnt even try it.:rotfl2:

enjoy your afternoon everyone,

Kathy

Hi everybody!

So, I'm trying to hold off telling my son about this cruise because last time, we re-booked about a week after getting off our previous cruise, and I told him right away, which was a mistake because he asked me literally almost every day, "Are we going on our cruise today?" FOR A WHOLE YEAR! Drove me nuts!

Holly,
when you do tell him, have him make a count down chain to hang up. It will take some time to make and write all the numbers on each ring of the chain, and to put it together.
Then each day he can remove one link and that will tell him how many days are left. If he asks, just point to the chain.

I know people that made them 18 months out and wrapped the chain all around the room and slowly watched it get smaller and smaller.

Hey everyone - I have not had time to peruse the 127 pages of this thread, but just want to let you know that I will be on this cruise as well.

I just got off the Magic last Saturday and am already suffering withdrawals!

Shari

Shari, I believe I have sailed with you before on an Eastern Cruise in 2004 halloween. Could it have been you?
Wendy

Shari :welcome: :welcome: :welcome:
Happy your with us!:woohoo:

Shell (woogal) is keeping a cruise list for us of all the great people on this cruise. So when you get a chance you cna PM her with your info. mostly we have names, ages, how many cruises you have been on, email address, room number, early or late dining, celebrations on board . Anything you would like to share about yourselves and then every now and then Shell e-mails the list to everyone so we can get to know each other better.:thumbsup2

Many of us have sailed together before, and we decided we were brave enough or maybe I should say dumb enough to try it again!!:rotfl2:
we are glad to have you along with us.:grouphug:
