Maybe Kathy can adopt you so you can get the rates. :rotfl:
Heck, maybe she can adopt ALL of us!
Wouldn't THAT be great! Maybe we can all just use her address when we book our cruise! Do you think they would be suspicious of 83 people living at the same address? :lmao:

:cool1: I found this site about three months before our November 26th cruise. :boat: The "Cruise Meets" thread for that cruise was NOT very active. We even had set up a meet onboard and no one showed up. I was VERY surprised when I did a search for our November 2007 cruise and found y'all. You sound like a great bunch of people. We can't wait to cruise with you next year. A year seems so long to wait for our next cruise. :hourglass I am sure you'll make it go by fast. The banana dancer makes us laugh. So, y'all must have our sense of humor. (DH name is Bill also)

Jennifer,
not to worry, we will have a cruise meet the first day. Our cruise last week we had 63 people show up at the meet!! Plus a few wondered in and out a bit.
funny thing was we all had matching t-shirts so we keep meeting up int he terminal as everyone arrived, so by the time we had the meet, most of us had met already.
If we get enough interest we may try to have matching t-shirts again. that was fun.

Ok, my house has 6 bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths, so who is gonna sleep by the pool???? Minnie wont give up her bed, I guarantee it!! I suppose we could stack bunk beds around the house :rolleyes1
But I must warn ya, you gotta have photo Id with a Florida address to qualify for florida resident rates. :sad2:
Bob, you can drive here, no airfare to pay. That should help some. Maybe you could have a big garage sale and clean house??? Guess I will have to think on it. there must be some way to do this??? :confused3

Maybe you could just put down the deposit now, and make payments each month like a regular bill, because the rates will creep up each month, so it is cheaper to book now and then if you decide it's not going to work, you can cancel and get 100% back. :thumbsup2

We have done that before just to insure we got the lowest rates possible in case they didnt offer the Florida resident discount.

well off to finish decorating the familyroom. :woohoo:
I would of been done by now accept Minnie insists on sniffing everything I bring out of the boxes.

Kathy

Lisa and I have a placeholder cruise right now for 01/08, but I may move it back to this cruise, just in case.

Good man Bob. Hey you and I never had the chance to talk about the joys of entrepreneurship. I kept thinking I was going to run into you at the pool or one of the clubs and only really had a chance to talk to you on STT and then we had to rush back to the bus. Anytime you want to chat, don't hesitate to call me. I'll send you an IM with my personal info.

You should try to come out on July or begining of August. If you can take the heat :sunny:, it's usually much cheaper than. Also if you don't mind staying off the strip there are lots of hotels that you can get room rates for like $30 a night and they aren't really that bad. Let me know I would be happy to give you some suggestions about where to stay for cheap.
We went in July a few years ago -- it actually rained when we were there! Good to know we have a Vegas "source"!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks Kathy, we are thinking about changing to this cruise. But, that would be three cruises in a 12 month period, and that is a lot of money. We don't get those Florida resident rates! ;)
C'mon Tiara Bob! If Shell & Bill can do it, you & Lisa can do it, too!!!! How's that for peer pressure???? :rotfl2:

:welcome: Jennifer & family!

Our family is from far northern Illinois (near Rockford). My DH (Bill), & I are traveling with our DD5. This will be our 3rd DCL cruise.

I think the eastern itinerary was fine for kids.

There is supposed to be a nice quiet beach (Little Divi Bay) on St. Maarten that has calm waters and is near a resort so you can use the facilities. There is a thread on the main board describing it. We were going to go there, but because of our success in the casinos, we just walked down the "main" beach a little way. (DD stayed on the ship that day.)

We went straight to Sapphire Beach when we got to St. Thomas. We ran into Jeff & family there after they were finished with their excursion!

Should we go ahead and set 2:45 on Saturday at the Promenade Lounge as our DIS meeting place? I think we should also do shirts again. . .It really helped during that first day!!

Talk to you later!

Cheri

Cheri,
same place and time sounds good to me for a meet. Maybe in 6 months we could work on t-shirt ideas. I need to ask Tonya where she got them so we have a source to check out.

Bob,
I think it sounds like a great idea to move your place holder cruise to this one, :woohoo: you can always move it back if you change your mind!! :sad2:
We didnt get much of a chance to visit on the first trip, hope to do it this time, if you come along. :hyper2: Although I did get to visit with Lisa in the terminal while you were returning the car.
After all we will need another leader for Karoake again!!! :rolleyes1

Kathy

I'm all for matching shirts and since I pack for my husband he really doesn't have a choice :stir: Now if I could only trick him into dressing like a pirate...

Sorry Kathy, I will try to take pictures of KC today and post them tonight. If I don't have a chance I will get them done this weekend.

Wow, can't believe you had rain. You know how lucky you were :rotfl: Since it rains so little here, we all get very excited when it does. We haven't seen rain in a few months.

It has actually been cold the past few weeks. It has been in the low 30's in the morning and only going up to the 50's during the day. Yes, I know some of you never get above 30's during the day, but hey we live in the desert, when it's in the 50's you will see people wearing hats, scarves and gloves :)

I can't wait to meet all of you

Cheri: :thanks: Thank you for the information on the beaches (and casino). We will most likely go to ::MickeyMoWDW::MinnieMo before the cruise again and want to relax on the beach with and without the kids. :beach: DH and I may have to venture down to the casino in St. Maarten too. Did they have table games? He likes blackjack and I like blackjack and craps. Having the capability of leaving the kids in the Oceaneer's Club :sail: and Flounder's :fish: was one of the many reasons we rebooked with DCL. :cool1: We were with the kids the week before at WDW and needed the "us" time to get our sanity back.

 "They were driving us bananas!" (I have to join the banana bandwagon.)

Hey gang....

Issue #1--- yep, I freely admit starting the banana thing (should I wear a yellow fez or something to single myself out in the crowd of adoring nana fans?) BUT...as far as creating all the cute dances and stuff, uh....can't take credit for that---there is a site with a ton of dancing bananas, Shell found it and I believe she even posted the site on the other board as some point.

Issue #2--- I CAN take credit for the nanahead design on all of our door mags. If everyone liked it, I'd be happy to throw a few designs together for the 07 shirts. Tonya did a fantastic job on our 06 cruise and if she decides to come with us, I'll gladly relinquish the reigns to her(or anyone else that has a design in mind). I'm just offering my services, thats all. :artist:

Woo is out of town, so she'll probably post sometime tommorow if she gets a chance....

Have a great evening everyone!

Bill,
go for it, I would love to see some designs you can come up with. :goodvibes

I think your shirt should say something like " I'm the top banana"
or something to distinguish you from the rest of us.
gotta give that some thought.

well its about my bedtime here, greg now has abad cold and it really makes you tired.
I'll check back tomarrow,
oh our banana count is already up to 343 !!!

Kathy

I thought I found a bunch of dancing nanas but when I went to post just the web site came up. I will continue looking but for now

We went to 2 casinos. The first was Beach Side Casino (or something like that). I didn't see table games there -- only slots & video poker (which is what we played). This one did have servers bringing drinks to us. But getting them to smile was impossible!! :confused3

The second was Princess Casino. It did have table games, but we didn't have anyone offer drinks. Overall, this one seemed nicer.

We saw another casino along the beach. The outside looked so run down that I didn't think it was open, but we could see lights and people inside so I guess it was. I WASN'T going to go in there!

Overall we had a good time and came out with more money than we went in with, but this certainly isn't on par with Vegas or even Atlantis (in Nassau).

I will be sure to do more research for next year -- I think there are several hotels with casinos -- they may be nicer than the "free-standing" casinos we went to.

The nice thing about St. Maartin is that the ship pulls right up to the dock and the water taxis move people pretty fast -- you don't have to wait for a boat to be filled before it takes off across the bay. The beepers may even still be in range.

I'll let you know what I find out as the year goes on!!!

Bill,

I say go for it -- designs for a shirt and/or group door sign! :thumbsup2 I can help in any way that doesn't involve too much artistic talent! :rotfl: (But you're right, if we can convince Tonya & Trey to come along, it would be fitting to let her handle the shirts! ;) Don't mess with success!)

Did you get the Christmas Story interview on MSNBC TiVo'd??? Jessalyn came in and said "Randy" was on, so that's how I knew about it, and knew I had to let you & Shell know!!

Shell -- hope you didn't have any further problems getting to NM.

Talk to you later!

I hear ya (about the colds!). My Bill has a bad cold and is already sleeping (it's just a little after 9:00 our time.). I also have a touch of a cold -- a little sinus congestion -- more annoying than anything.

Jessalyn seems to be the only one in our family unscathed!!!

Hope you & Greg feel better real soon!          (I'm too lazy to open the other smilie screen to get you some pixie dust, so here's a whole bunch of bananas instead! Lots of potassium! :rotfl2: )

Good morning Nanas - new & old!

Just saying "hi" and bumping us near the top of the page!

Going to work from home today so I can finish cleaning the house from top to bottom! Then on to the Christmas decorations. . .

A VERY cold day today -- 6 degrees / feels like -11. :sad2: Good thing I wasn't planning to go anywhere!

Talk to you later!
