Sharon-Was it worth doing? I have a goal to make it to all the parks. Were they friendly? What about the shows? Was it difficult not having everything in English?

If that's your goal then I say it's worth doing. The park is small in comparison to WDW but it's still Disney. We found all the cast members to be very friendly and helpful, especially with the language. I remember the intros to the shows being in French and in English so the language barrier was minimal. I don't remember the shows themselves though or if it was a problem. I brushed up on some basic French from high school so it was enough for us to get by. Plus, if you're friendly to the cast members and let them know you don't speak French they will speak English to you. It was definitely fun to go there. I don't think there would be enough there to spend more than a one or two days....would definitely plan on visiting some other Paris sights. We went to Versailles, Normandy and spent the rest of the week in the city and did The Louves, Notre Dame, Sacred Heart Chapel, Arc d'Triumph, etc.

If you subscribe to Travelzoo.com watch for the Paris specials. When you find a package that is priced right, jump on it!

How far was it to travel from DLP to the other places you visited? How did you work in DLP with the rest of your trip? We looked at some of the information from Disney Adventures and it mentioned adding on DLP at the end. I do not know if we will ever do anything through Disney Adventures or of we would just book ourselves.

Hi Kathy..nice to meet you..thanks for the thread invite. :)
Can you come clean my sinks today too? :rotfl:

I'm so excited about this cruise..my first..EVER!!!
My sister has been on so many that I think she lost count. She's been after me for awhile to join her..so this is the year! And my dh is turning 49 on this cruise...and I think that it's on pirate: pirate night...talk about fun!

Our daughters are 7 and 9 and they have no clue we are surprising them with this cruise! :earseek:

How exciting!! It's our first cruise EVER too so we're really looking forward to it. Having a birthday on pirate night is pretty hard to top!

Sharon-Thanks for the info. We were thinking two nights there and two in the city. I would like to fly into or out of London and take the Chunnell. Did this once before and it was great.

Hi there Tangible-This is our first cruise also. DS turns 10 the day before we cruise but we will be celebrating on board also.

Hi Shell:wave2:

Okay, so I got off track a little this weekend, but I want Tonya to know; that I have the perfect thong for Trey. It's Disney inspired. Now, I just need for him to PM me or post so that I can carry out my induction into the Soceity............Trey? Tonya? Helloo...................

If I remember correctly the train ride to DLP was 45 minutes, maybe an hour, from downtown Paris which is where we stayed. We basically just picked a day to go and then purchased our round trip train tickets from the terminal that day. We arrived at DLP and bought our tickets at the gate...that was it. Those were the days before knowing about these boards or before we were obsessed with the internet and planning. It was all very spur-of-the moment once we booked the trip to Paris and very casual. At that time there were no kids, just four adults. We did all of our getting around via the subway and train systems with the exception of Normandy. That was a full day bus trip that was scheduled in advance. We looked at the different subway and train maps, knew where we wanted to go then figured out the best way to get there. If we figured out how to get around I'm sure anyone could!

If you found a package through Travelzoo you could choose a hotel in downtown Paris and keep the room for the week. If you wanted to stay one night at DLP you could pack an overnight bag, take the train there, stay one night then return to downtown Paris at your other hotel. The package prices through Travelzoo are so incredible that it might be worthwhile.

Now we'll never hear from them again.:rotfl:

This is our first 7 day cruise. The longest we've ever done before is a 5 day. You're kids sound like the perfect age, they should love it!

Welcome! We are also cruising with 2 DDs - one is 3 and one is 9! So perhaps our daughters can meet up at the "meet" on the first day and have a friend to go to the lab with...

You'll love it and so will your kids. This is our 3rd in a little more than a year and we are hooked.

Hey Melanie...maybe we and both make a 1000 post by time we cruise...what do you think?

Let's do it!:woohoo:
Go team Jaime and Melanie!

(I've gotta cheer for someone, it's looking like a really bad football year at our house!)

Hi all, we're almost to the 500th page of this thread! School today was fine, I've found a perpetual motion device ( I think) you're looking at the next billion dollar man here! :)
