I'm glad everyone survived the storms. We were lucky because we only received heavy rains. It sounds like mother nature's fury was very widespread throughout the day. So glad everyone is safe.

I am definitely going to save that sangria recipe for the next patio party! Sounds yummy.

My brother went to college at Hiram and graduated in the early 90's. He played football and we would sometimes go to the games to see him play. That seems like a lifetime ago!

Thanks to those who posted about linking dining reservations. I think I "get it" now!

Do I at least get to be Samwise Gamgee? Frodo was a putz.

Glad it worked out for ya Jeff....btw...I was arrested in Schenley park when I went to school in Pittsburgh (Market Square too....it was a little too much fun in 87 for me).

Great for DH lawn business :woohoo: .....BAD for my day at Hershey Park...:sad2: They close all the rides down...even the water rides....well, this is because of the lightning....I guess closing water rides during lightning does seem like a good idea:rolleyes1

I LOVE THE SMELL OF CHOCOLATE AT HERSHEY...MMMMM..

Here is my first attempt of uploading a picture from photobucket...with the help of my DS of course:

Did it work??? I sure hope so.....have a good night sleep everyone....off to take my van to the shop in the morning....overheated on the way to work yesterday :scared:

Hey all, Im gonna soon turn in for the night. :yay: Tommorrow will include boredom, because I dont work :(
Sarah, hope everything painting went fine. I still haven't seen Endevour, but I do want to watch the EVA's. I made sure that eveyone at work know when the launch was though (I was working for those that dont know).
Rachel, nice to meet you. I'm Josh, not Joel (Kathy, remember? Ah, good times). I'm 17 and this'll be my last year in the stack. Have you been on the cruise before? The Stack is wicked awesome!
As I type this, the clock reads 11:10P. Jeff, I believe that the worst of the storm is over, it rained for two and a half hours without our knowing. So the storm was quite dissappated.
Oh, and do you live near any of the steel mills??? I dont know why, but I have a strong facination by steel mills  .
I think that this'll be the last post of the night, So I'll say "See yall tommorrow!"

I do too - it's something about the smell of hot steel and the flying ribbon of molten metal in the rolling mill! (I'm a mechanical test technician, so I guess I come by the affection naturally! or else i'm nuts.)

Hi!!!...whats this gift exchange i keep hearing about???

HI Rachel!:wave2: :welcome:

On the first day (Saturday), we'll have a nana-head meet (we'll all be wearing our matching yellow nana shirts!:thumbsup2 ) at about 2:45-3:00. At that time, we draw names to exchange "regional" gifts. Last year, people either bought Christmas ornaments or items representative of their part of the country. Whoever wants to participate is welcome!

Hope this helps!

Cheri

Glad to hear everyone is o.k. from yesterday's storms. Things have been clearing out here, so good weather is on the way. . .

DD & I will be off to the county fair later today. So much food, so little time!!!!

Have a great day!

Good morning all! Wow, I've posted twice without Kathy... What am I to say???

I do too - it's something about the smell of hot steel and the flying ribbon of molten metal in the rolling mill! (I'm a mechanical test technician, so I guess I come by the affection naturally! or else i'm nuts.)

Well, I never got to smell that smell, the steel mills around me have long since shut down. My Mom and Dad tell me, however that those factories were the places to work in their hayday.

Here's my pic of the day:

Anyone remember this goof? Wonder if he'll be on the ship this year. :confused3

See yall later!
- Josh
P.S. Jeff, I think the storms have passed, not too bad of damage over here. :thumbsup2

YEP! That was my very first one! I was a mojito virgin about 5 minutes before that :rotfl2: . Last year, Jeff thought he was wayyyyyyy too cool for Nana Head t-shirts. But not to worry, we've pursuaded him to the dark side (or is it the yellow side?) this year!

For those asking about the gift exchange, Cheri pretty much covered it, but here's a couple more things. If you wish to participate, it's one gift per family, and I believe we had a $10 limit (is that right Cheri, Jeff and Kathy?). We do a rotational drawing during our 2:45 meet. It's a great way to interact and meet everyone!

The gift should represent something about the area that you come from. For instance, Jeff brought a Steelers Terrible Towel (thank GOD I didn't draw for that one! :rotfl2:), Bill & I brought Buckeye candy, another couple that's not with us this year brought a Florida photo album ... what else was there, guys? Cheri, I remember there was MUCH discussion on what you would bring ... turkey something-or-other :lmao: . (This is crazy ... I can't even remember what Wendy brought. Should I assume BEADS?:rotfl: ).

So that's the scoop!

hey josh we could have seen the shuttle fly over our house last night...exept for the fact that it was too cloudy :sad1: But my dad said we'll see it a few more times and twice with the ISS:cool1: :cool1:

I didn't have cheer practace today:banana:  Im still in PAIN from this week!! But tonight i have to go to Jamboree!! that will be fun:woohoo:

About how many people are going to be at the gift exchange? I know i'll be there:thumbsup2

Morning all,

Glad you all survived the storms.

While you were ducking the tornadoes I was up all night worshiping the porcelain God!! I am still pretty sick and now Greg isn't feeling well either.

Shell, 'some other gifts were ornaments for the tree that were themed for our states.
I of course being from Florida gave a disney tree ornament and chocolates shaped like alligators and I received chocolate mints and an ornament from Jan for her state.
Most of the ladies threw in some kind of chocolates!!! :woohoo: That is what I remember.

Off to bed for a bit, I am exhausted.

I will try and check back later today and post a picture of the day.

Christine,
my son will be in Las vegas on the 9th of September for a conference at the Mandalay Hotel. Are you anywhere near there??

Kathy
