11/22/08 Thanksgiving 2008 cruise thread. Double Dipping Travelling Turkeys!

I saw your thread about the names. They are beautiful. But I'm not sure what to do with one. I feel a bit stupid asking since obviously hundreds of other people are in the know.

Well, it all started with one person asking if someone would be able to make her two names so she could print them on magnet paper and use them to decorate her cabin door. Some people don't want their names on the door so they ask for things like "Happy Anniversary", "Welcome Aboard", "Disney Magic", etc... It's really just a cabin door decoration.

Would I be able to get one that says "Travelling Turkeys" with a pirate Mickey theme? I figured that any of us could use that to show who we are, without showing who we are. Now, I have to find some magnetic paper. I also need to go back and find the Monsters Inc. one someone else made up.

Do you want Traveling spelled with two L's? I know you can spell it with one or two, but I used one in the other sign I made.

I made the Monsters Inc. one too.

Teresa- Well, I went to the new outlets today and saw your old friend Jerome. The line to get his autograph started at your house. There was no way. I could not believe how many people were there. I did take photos with my cell phone. He's a very large man!!!
I was very successful shopping as well. I grabbed 2 pair of Puma sneakers for me and a pair for DH - $10.00 each! One of the pairs I got for me I've had my eye on since last spring for $90.00. I love to shop and I really love a good bargain! I may head down there again tomorrow!

Received final confirmation papers from DCL yesterday in the mail. I guess we're really going!

I haven't bought magnet paper in a couple years, but I used to get Avery brand at Walmart. It was around $6 for a package of 5. While I was getting school supplies a couple weeks ago I saw the same kind at Staples for $11.

Those look great! I checked Target and they don't have magnetic paper. I guess I'll either have to go to Walmart or check out the Office Depot near me.

Went to Walmart to get the paper and DH decided he wanted to go too. This was a big surprise because he HATES Walmart. He said he wanted to make sure I didn't spend too much money. Five hours later we return home 79.00 poorer. And guess what! I forgot to get the paper. He had me so frazzled I just forgot.
We ended up buying some groceries (mostly junk for him and DS) which was not on my agenda at all. I am getting up early tomorrow and getting out of the house before anyone knows I'm gone!

My DH is not a shopper either. When we get to the store he says "what exactly do we need?" Then he checks his watch and makes a beeline for whatever it is we are shopping for then he runs to the register as quickly as possible to minimize our time in the store. If it's not on the list we don't buy it. Then we get home and I usually have to go back out and buy all the stuff we forgot earlier.

Just heard from our friends who live in Louisiana, they are about 45 minutes outside of New Orleans. They are in the midst of packing up and they will be evacuating there home tomorrow morning. They are still in the process of trying to fix there home from Katrina.

On another note, I'm probably showing my age by telling this, but I'm so excited I have to share! We went to Home Depot today because our dishwasher of only 3 years quit. Well, we bought a new dishwasher and ended up getting the LG Front Loading Steam Washer and Dryer. I'm up late tonight because it's actually fun to do laundry! I've wanted these forever and just decided to bite the bullet today. Isn't it funny how certain things excite us as we get older? My DH and I just stood in with a flashlight peering into the washer and watching it do its thing. All of a sudden, we cracked up laughing at ourselves. Who stares at their washer while its doing its thing? Pretty exciting stuff here at our house!

I wish I lived close to you, I would come over and watch with you (and bring my laundry too). I have wanted an LG washer and dryer forever! How do the clothes come out of the dryer? Are they less wrinkled? I am very jealous.

Gustav is a mess. I pray the Feds have everything ready and they don't botch it like they have done in the past. Let's learn from Katrina, eh? I work for HUD and I know how negligent they can be.
