11/22/08 Thanksgiving 2008 cruise thread. Double Dipping Travelling Turkeys!

Now that I'm clear on the FE and everything is falling into place, what ideas do people have for the grab bag gifts?

Here's what I'm having for lunch today Someone in this building stole my veggie dog from the fridge!!! They'll be surprised when they bite into it and it's not meat!!! Serves them right.

VEGGIE DOG! I hope that stays onshore when you get on the ship. I know for a fact they dont have veggie lobster!

Just trying to catch up on things. I have been down sick for the last 5 days, went to the Dr. yesterday. I am being tested for Limes Disease. Anyway, as far as the DIS Meet being held on Mon. or Tues., I just don't think that will work for my family. How about this, and it's just a suggestion. Why couldn't we do a meet on Sat., maybe at the Goofy pool sometime in the afternoon for the people that can't meet on Mon. or Tues. and then still have the other meet on Mon. or Tues. for the other people. This way people have two options to choose from, just a thought.

They'll stay ashore but I wish there was an option for vege dogs and burgers. Don't tell anyone but I don't eat red meat! I do eat lobster, fish, chicken, etc. I can't eat cow or pig or sheep. My Grandfather and 2 uncles were/are farmers and I just can't bring myself to eat animals I have played with! I admit every once in a while I'll eat it if it's very disquised (like broth or something that I don't chew). It's a crazy hang up I know. My DH and DS will eat everything beef. DS says he's ordering steak for dinner and cheeseburgers for lunch every day!

I think the idea of 2 greets may be a good idea to accomodate everyone.

I know what you mean about the meat thing. I won't eat lamb or veal. I just can't bring myself to eat a baby animal. I don't have a problem eating beef or pork though. My plan is to eat seafood everyday of the cruise. I usually only cook shrimp and salmon at home so I'm looking forward to all things seafood on the ship. Bring on them lobsters!

I agree with you 100%. I know that meeting at the terminal might not work for many, but I plan on getting there early to start our festivities!! I'm leaving the real world behind as soon as my heiny hits that airplane seat!!

I've been looking forward to this cruise for more than 2 years. You know my history and the true meaning of this trip. Leading up to this has been an emotional rollercoaster ride and we need this vacation more than anything.

I have to say that once we set sail I hope to have met many of you but I will not be able to make any meets after this. I don't know what the itinerary has in store for us but I will find it difficult to tell my DH that I need to leave him during our romantic time at the adult pool on Monday because I have a DIS meet. As supportive as he has been, I don't think he would want that and I wouldn't want that either.

As I said before, we will be at the terminal early to get the party started. I plan on running to get my ressies guaranteed once I board the ship, while my family heads to Topsiders. Once we fill our tummies it is off to the Goofy pool where I will finally kick back and get my much needed family trip started!

I hope that everyone has a chance to meet up...wherever it may be! This board has already been evidence that it's a friendly group who get along fabulously!

I think I could actually see my bar stool with my name on it! I am just glad they have a pool/slide. Dad and Mom partake, DD plays, we are all happy!

Those photos are beautiful! Last cruise we sailed Sat after Thanksgiving. The Wonder was decorated but I don't remember it looking that good. I remember the tree and some garland, the snowmen and bubbles on CC. I was so excited last time, there was so much to see and I'm sure I missed a lot. This trip I can slow down and enjoy! I have downloaded a LOT of reggae and Buffet on my IPOD. I plan on laying on the deck and on the beach and losing myself! Of course I will have boat drinks! And no freezer to shoot at.

I also will have my ipod on looking for that .... one particular harbour...

We hosted a parrothead party this past Saturday and had a fresh lei flown in from Hawaii for my wife. She still has it in the refrigerator.
We need to get the Magic's DJ to play more reggae and Jimmy Buffet, they never seem to play enough.

Calling all Parrotheads! Perhaps if the DJ is inundated with requests he'll comply!
Buffet played 2 nights here in the Burgh in June and tickets were gone in an hour! We may be landlocked and the only H2O around here are the three rivers but we love Jimmy!
The last concert Marley played before he passed was in Pgh. It's on my IPOD."Redeption Song" reduces me to tears.
I've often thought about buying steel drums just to have in my living room. I could play them and dream of the islands!
