11/22/08 Thanksgiving 2008 cruise thread. Double Dipping Travelling Turkeys!

welovedvc, we look forward to chatting with you as we all anxiously plan for a cruise that is about 1 1/2 years away.

Since we will be cruising in November and the stores around my area are in the midst of snow pants, coats, mittens, etc - no shorts, swimsuits, and the like to be found, I was wondering what y'all all plan on doing for clothing?

I might be able to get away with buying some items during the summer beforehand, but for my younger kids that's going to be hard due to growth spurts.

I try to buy some clothes at the end of the summer season and just hold onto them for the cruise. Good Luck!

I'll also buy throughout the summer for the cruise. I'm a shopping addict anyway, so I'm not opposed to buying stuff way too early. I had tons of stuff we didn't even need for our last cruise, but I had fun shopping for it anyway. The kids wear it all to church now, so it wasn't a total waste of money.

Hi all ! Haven't checked in for a while - sorry.
I think the weather will probably still be pretty warm in November, don't you think? I'll probably shop some of this year's summer sales because living in CA - its always warm and summer stuff doesn't go on sale until Christmas around here!

Did anybody receive new Castaway Club cards?? People were discussing it on other threads, saying they received new cards. We didn't receive anything .

No new Castaway Club cards here yet either. I suppose I should be happy that we at least received our original cards. Have number... will book!

I called DCL once I saw those threads and all they gave me were our individual ID numbers but no cards yet - said they were still processing them.

I received new Castaway Cards yesterday, but one was missing. I'll have to follow up at some point.

We received our new Castaway Club cards early last week, but there weren't any cards for our children. I guess I should call because I do think the numbers changed. I haven't had a chance to think about it too much yet. When is summer break????

I've been contemplating on booking a short cruise for just DH and I beforehand so we can:

1. Have some "alone" time together;
2. To get a much needed break;
3. Check out what DCL offers first hand;
4. And finally, just because I want to.

I say "Go For It!" My DH and I need to take a vacation alone sometime, but we always seem to do these expensive things with the kids and can't afford to go one more place. We must have been rich before we had kids.

Hello all! Sorry for my sporatic visits! The big move is in just under a month now! DH leaves this coming Sunday and wont be back until June 9th (we move June 13th!!) We have had a few bumps in the road...but all is moving along!

My parents visited from PA this weekend, my DM and I went to the movies together yesterday (saw Georgia Rule) ...we haven't done that in YEARS! It was great!

The kids saw DCL on Funniest Home Videos last night and went through the roof. DS swore he knew EXACTLY were all the shots were taken....even when all you saw was a few feet of railing! Too funny!

Hope all are well! I'll be popping in for my chance to escape the craziness here!!

Wow! We're all the way back to page 3!!!

I realize everyone is busy with moves, finishing up school, etc. I've not been able to visit DIS daily due to remodeling the room where we normally have our systems. Hopefully I'll be checking in regularly within 2 weeks. Until then, I'll try to check in now and then and see how everyone is doing.
