In RL, Castle Suite winners can only spend 1 night there. In VMK, you can stay there "forever". The room should be available to everyone for a very expensive price. That way, it can still remain "special".

This may be off the "11/2 New Items" topic, but I was inspired by qruthie to immediately write Contact Us the following message:

I respectfully request that VMK release the Castle Suite and it's matching pieces of furniture for sale to the general public.

The room (and furniture) is amazing! Quite simply, it's a work of art. I myself was not bless with the Dream Castle Suite prize pack and I would dearly love to spend some virtual time hanging out and decorating my very own room.

There may be some who want to keep the uniqueness or status that is now associated with owning the room who might complain, but I believe releasing the Suite set would make the greatest majority of players ecstatically happy. To lower the sting to those who do not wish release may I suggest the following:

1) Sell the room and furniture at a heretofore high price. I'd suggest 5-20k credits each. This would keep the room and furniture for becoming common.

2) Another player (qruthie) brainstormed what I believe to be an excellent idea: Sell a slightly modified version of the room. Remove the "Dreams" logo from the carpet. This will distinguish those with "status" who won their rooms from the plebs who bought their's. Those with the logo will retain an exclusive room.

3) Finally, my least favorite idea, would be to sell the room and not the furniture. With the furniture being non-tradeable, those who won their Dream Suite will be noticed for having the full package.

I sincerely hope you'll consider these suggestions. Use one or any combo, including none. Ultimately, I ask - VMK may I and my friends please get a Castle Suite?

I absolutely LOVE this idea. I think it's a fantastic compromise, and I hope they're paying attention!

Color me surprised at no new items released today.

I'd like to comment on the Dreams Castle Suite because I think I have a solution that would work for everyone.

First, my opinion, I did win a room using my YoHoEmpty character. Making the room available to all VMK players will not take away one iota of how special it was to win the room. For me, it's not the room that is special, it's how I received it on the last day of Dreams month from HOST_Hula, just when I least expected it! I have written to VMK to encourage them to make the room available to all, suggesting selling it for a lot of credits in order to still keep it rare to appease those who won the room and would feel upset if their "exclusive" room suddenly became common.

Here is my new and improved idea which I think would make almost everyone happy. Sell a slightly modified version of the room. All VMK needs to do is remove the Dreams logo from the carpet. Those with the Dreams logo will still have their "exclusive" room and those who didn't win will be able to buy the most awesome VMK guest room ever.

Everyone, feel free to share this idea with the world. Write to VMK if you think it's the right thing for them to do.

VMK - I'll gladly be a brainstorming idea person for you. I'm awesome at brainstorming because I have lots of ideas to offer but don't insist on them being used! I don't even need to be paid. Just ask!

I see it this way.... the people who was given it are " against it cause they want to feel special" and the ones who didn't get it "think they should be able to get it"
I just think that...vmk should see it to all...BUT with a vey BIG price tag! with no alternaltions! This the BEST room vmk has ever done and the reason we all want it so bad is cause of the room and what it stands for Where dreams come true!! Thats a Disney classic!

All VMK needs to do is remove the Dreams logo from the carpet. Those with the Dreams logo will still have their "exclusive" room and those who didn't win will be able to buy the most awesome VMK guest room ever.

An interesting idea, but it would make me kind of sad. The dreams logo is my favorite part of that room!

BUT if that's what it took to be able to purchase the room, I guess I wouldn't be complaining too much. A room without a Dreams logo is better than no room at all.

I think everyone should get the room. But I would also like the ones that did get it to have something that would make it a little different. Being that I have never won anything in VMK it is nice to have that little extra thing. It could be a special plaque that goes on the wall.

Or a special pin that is not tradeable. Something that is not much but a token of the dream grand winner.

Just pointing out that I was one of the winners of the Castle Suite during Dreams Month and I am not "against it cause they [ "I" in this case ] want to feel special." I said from day 1 I thought everyone should have a reasonable chance to get it. Many of us who did win it wanted everyone to get it, so I hope you really don't think all of us feel that way.

I'd say give it free to everyone, but seeing as I think that's as likely as everyone getting a free Inferno, sell it for a nice chunk of credits. q's idea about removing the Dreams from the carpet is a great idea also. I have always been of the opinion ALL things in game should be sold to players at varying prices. Would probably help reduce the scamming as well as the people who try to get insane amounts of stuff for things that aren't even that rare, just highly sought after.

As for no new items, I'm bummed. Hopefully it's just because it's due to there being a 5th Friday in this month. I hope it's not one of those months where there's a neat theme and themed games but nothing to actually go with said theme. I'm hoping for Prince costumes for the guys and a Minnie hat for all. High time that and many other things be sold again.

Monopoly is a very different concept though, IMO. You're playing with people that you know in real life in a face to face setting. The pieces you collect have no value to you after your 1 hour or however long game ends. They go back in the box until you play again, when you may or may not win them again. Whereas in VMK, you keep the stuff indefinitely if you wish.

Beyond that, people aren't scamming other players in Monopoly games for their coveted items, be it tricking younger players who are more trusting or just plain ripping other players off to get an item they have 10 of stored away. By this I mean asking for insane amounts of stuff, far beyond what it should be actually worth. I also mean people who pretend it's their only 1 of that item and THAT'S why they're asking so much for it, when they really have many more stored away. No item should take multiple trade windows to acquire, IMO. And I just don't think a Monopoly board piece has as much potential emotional value as something such as say the Minnie hat would be to someone who wore one as a child on family trips, or always wanted a real one but could never get one, etc. A person may love Monopoly as a game, love the competition, have family memories of it, but once you win a piece you don't get to keep it indefinitely if you wish. It's gone once the game ends. Hopefully that made sense and I got across what I'm trying to say.

I don't think everyone is "entitled" to everything, but I think everyone should be "entitled" to have a reasonable chance at earning everything in game. Sell Stitch, sell Inferno, sell Sparrow, sell all of it. You still have to work for it that way, so it doesn't eliminate all of the goal aspect of VMK or trading. That's my honest opinion and I've held that view for a long time.

I know I sound like a broken record but, your last sentence to me is contradictory to your first sentence. Games need challenge.


IMO the room should not be for sale. I think it should be a no mini game short term quest brought back yearly. It should take some time to get it because its special, but not out of reach. If its buyable we will all have a million of them along with the special furniture. Let everyone get 1 set. Next year let us get another, and the n00bs who werent here get their first. Just my opinion, but its such a spectacular room, more should have it, but we should need to earn it by putting your time into the game, not make it just another buyable room.

I am sorry..... I truly don't mean to sound mean or dis-repect you or any other fellow Diser or vmk player. I was only commenting on how so many do say that it wouldn't be fair for others to get it! Thats all... I truly didn't mean to hurt anyone feelings! If I have I am sorry.

But I certainly do agree and think it would be good if they could do something special like the plaque or pin?? I just love the room...

And yes..I agree its a bummer no new items released today... oh well...

I've got no problem with this either. I'd say an annual or semi-annual quest would be great.

Not at all, PirateBell. I was just worried you thought everyone who had the room felt that way and wanted to assure you that wasn't the case. I think us few who are of the "room for all" opinion do tend to get drowned out by the people of the "keep it rare" opinion just because there are fewer of us, but we do exist.

Hi Donald....long time no see! We need to get together on vmk and sing a few songs and play a few games!
