Should have checked this board more often. Just checked and brunch is no longer available. :sad2:

:thumbsup2

Well, I checked for a dinner ressie maybe half an hour ago and one was still there. I am going to try and get a dinner and if I see one, I will post and send you a PM.

One more thing to check off the list. I received permission from the principal plus both girls' teachers today for their extended absence (we'll be gone for 3 weeks). DD10's teacher did a Disney Mexican Riviera cruise last summer, so she was totally on board. :lmao:

Just have to make sure that they finish all their extra work before we go. I mean, honestly, would I really make them do homework at Disneyworld and on a Disney cruise? That would be a heck no, good buddy! :rotfl: Well, to be completely honest, I don't want to be bothered with having to hound them on vacation at the Happiest Place on Earth. My butt's either going to be at the parks, in the hot tub, on a lounger on Deck 9, in the Spa, or on a shore excursion. However, no need for their teachers to know that. Just let them think that my kids are super-motivated. :ssst:

That is so great. My DS won't start school for 2 more years, but I am dreading the damper it is going to put on my travel plans.

The first few years aren't so bad. We've taken our kids out of school for a week almost every year with no problems. Next year really is going to bring our school-year traveling to a halt because DD10 will enter middle school, where missing school for more than a day or so of traveling is a big no no. It's just too hard to catch up if you're gone for more than a few days.

I guess I need to convince DH that we really need to do the Wonder Panama Canal sailing and Alaska with DCL in 2011!

I so wish I was going on this cruise but alas not to be. that being said however, two of the most important people in my life are cruising with you. My parents are joining the rest of you on this wonderful double dip. They have cruised multiple times on Disney, but this is their first trip on the Magic.

They will be celebrating their 40th Anniversary on the ship and I would love to find a way to help join in their celebration even though i can't be there. This is where I need help. Would any of you consider decorating their door with magnets either all at once or a few times along the week. What about leaving them some gifts at their door, if I sent things to you?

Any takers? You can PM me or post here if have any ideas how i can make their week special from home.

I had that problem when I used the glossy magnet paper. I use a Lexmark 4 in 1. I order matte magnet paper online, and they are fine. Also with the glossy once they were dry, they got all scratched up as well-no problem with the matte. The glossy I had gotten from Office depot (their brand) I put all of mine in between 2 pieces of cardboard and then into a gallon size ziploc. I put them in my carry on.

I print my door signs on regular photo paper and slide them in a page protector with a magnet sheet behind them - for two reasons - I can change signs daily, and the expensive magnet sheet is reusable.

Thanks for the tips! I think I will try some of each. And I would not recommend the magnet paper that I used from Staples...just doesn't seem to hold the ink. :sad1: It does say Glossy though...think I need to try the matte. Oh well...just means I get to spend MORE time making magnets!! :rotfl:

I would be honoured to make some magnets and put them on their doors. Just PM me with their stateroom #. What a thoughtful idea!!!

Cheers,
Lisa

I wouldn't mind helping. I don't disign, but I can print them and take them with me. Just PM me. I do have some anniversary ones saved from when DH & I went last year for our anniversary, maybe I can alter them. Let me know about characters and such. That is a great idea!!

Did you know you can order for them an anniversary celebration from the Disney cruiseline? http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/planning-center/gifts-and-amenities/ Or a lovely, personal gift basket (that can include stuff you send her) from Shirley at the Perfect gift. . . snelsonbrown@aol.com

Thanks for the magnet paper tips! I'm starting to prepare to get some designs together (after I get together stuff for fishy gifts, that is), and I have no idea what the "good" kind of magnet paper is for ink jet printers. More details to obsess about!

Okay, Double Dippers - here is your tip (and laugh) of the day...

DO NOT put individual glow sticks in your FE bags. Because when you package them and then try to ram them all into a cardboard box for shipping, you break them and they start to glow......who would have thunk it?!??:confused3:confused3

Needless to say, I will apologize right now if your kids gets a dud glowstick - I tried to replace them all - you can blame me....

Cheers,
Lisa

TinLizzy90 - I used Avery brand of magnet paper - it seems to work okay but pricey so I do most of mine on card stock and add a magnet to the back...

You beat me to it. That's exactly what I do. Cheap & easy (that's me :lmao:)

Also, does anyone know if I can mail myself a package (FE stuff) AND order from the baby service (to have diapers, etc shipped to the ship from the company)? Technically, that would be 2 boxes to my stateroom, where the "rules" say only one.

Are we chatting tonight on Denise's website? Don't really want to show up to talk to just myself (been there, done that) - but I guess Denise would be there too.

Clueless in Cadillac but, if no one knows the answer here, I would post your question on the main cruise board as surely someone would have the answer.

Well, "technically" I think the baby service is thru DCL, right?? So, I don't think it would count as a box you are shipping to yourself.....of course, I may also be totally off the mark. I'm sure there are better informed people out there who might have a definitive answer...

BTW, I'm getting around the restriction by shipping a second box to my SIL's room next door - I haven't told her yet....;);)

Cheers,
Lisa

So excited, Gradsmommy sent our FE today. Should get it in a few days. We will try to post a picture.

I think we drove her crazy with all the customization , but she's a great person and so easy to work with!!
