Where was she when it went missing? I have read enough to know that the Marriott was the hotel and they met her halfway to get her bag (which I think is mighty impressive) but after that I have not read any further details. I guess I should watch the video that he posted.

And you are right on with your comment on the parks. I am even particular when we spend one night in a hotel (like the night before the cruise) and insist on all bags going into the room. Just freaks me out.

It was at the hotel. She had the purse with her when she checked in. But somewhere between the front desk and the room it was stolen. The details were a bit fuzzy about how that actually happened (the story came 2nd hand from her husband who was not on the trip), but he thinks that the wife may have dropped it or accidentally left it on the counter at check-in.

Hi all. I first posted on this thread on page 2 and have been lurking on and off since then. I couldn’t keep up with all the posting and activities as this is a very active thread.

I have a question that I’ve gotten different answers to-which night is pirate night?
I know it was changed from Wednesdays to Tuesdays but I’ve also read that it’s back to Wednesdays.

Ok, I know it must be here SOMEWHERE and you would think we would know by now, but this is first time using DCL tranportation.

Can I bring a bottle of our fav adult beverage, with us from hotel to ship?
If so, in carry on or luggage.
I know we can't bring it on plane.

Yes, in your carry on. Although I know that some people say if you wrap it carefully, you can put it in your luggage...I would not risk having all my clothes soaked in my favourite adult beverage....

As for Pirate Night, I thought it was Wednesday night and then someone said it was switched to Tuesday or Grand Cayman....so I do not have the answer, I am afraid.....sorry..

Hi,

Just wanted to pass this on. I heard it on the news this morning. IDK, when it starts or ends, but SWA is offering seat selections, at least front of line for $10 each.

Thats basically what Airtran does, but Airtran charges for every piece of luggage, and SWA doesn't, so if you don't want to stay up till midnight the night before your flight down to Orlando, this sounds reasonable.

Of coarse, Please check for yourselves and verify. Also SWA might not be on the DCL airlines list.

It was Grand Cayman night when we sailed last October but I just went and took a look at the most recent Westnen Nav (July) in the FAQ's and it says Cozumel night. On Barb's site, her latest Western was from June and it was GC night. How do you spell confusing - P-I-R-A-T-E- N-I-G-H-T! It really doesn't matter to me but I know some plan their Palo dinner around that night.

Worked on my FE gifts this weekend. I have a small story about some of the gifts I'll put at the end of this post...

I got lots of things for the kids 3-11. Except I don't know the break down of M/F kids, so my numbers may be off (a.k.a. a girl might get a boys gift or vice-a-versa)

A few things for the Adults (most of the adult gifts will be 1 per cabin).

I'm at a loss for things for the 13-18 year olds.



Ok, the story.....

Back when Disney ran the "House Party" in 2008... well, I signed up and got picked!!! I got the guests lined up, and got the box with the party favors, and the day before the party, I had an emergency at work and had to work the entire day of the house Party... Sooo, no party happened. Anyway, while gathering things for FE gifts, I came across the box with all the House Party supplies in it from Disney. So, I've got lots of things to use as FE gifts.

In the box were some things we can use to help identify some of the DIS Meets on the ship. I've got a few DCL balloons (no helium, though), Some DCL napkins, and other stuff that I'd rather keep secret from the masses. I would however, like to use the "extra" stuff as prizes (door prizes) at the various meets on the ship. All of the prizes and gifts are very limited in number.

So, whomever is working to organize the Sat meet, the Lumiere's breakfast, Palo Brunch, etc... PLEASE PM me so we can setup some activities or way of handing out these gifts. (i.e. tickets, raffle, first person to show us "x", etc..)

Wow...how generous of you...I will finish up my gifts next week...the youngest DD is starting school...

A little about myself and family. I homeschool my two children DS -13 and DD-10. We started this school year the first of July. So, we are ready for a long break. We will not do any homeschool the week before we leave, because I will be to excited to teach them. I will be cleaning and doing last minute packing.

Hello All!

We are home after a little trip to Disney World. We went down for labor day weekend and to do the first MNSSHP of the season. It was a little wierd celebrating Halloween so early, but the kids are young enough that they don't know any different.
I can report that florida was H O T ! The other thing that's worth sharing is the Dining Plan. This was our first time doing it, and we were a little on the fence about it. It saved us a lot of money and gave us the freedom to go to the resturants that we usually talk ourselves out of. Thank god we had a fridge because we had plenty of food for late night snacks...or as they say in the navy..mid-rats. We do not usually spend the money to get desert, but it comes with the plan...so twist our arms. The only thing we had to pay was the tips.

We also learned that with the Magical Express, you will save time by making sure you bring the little booklet with you to the airport. If you have that you go straight to the boarding lines and skip the counter check in. If your arrival into Orlando is between 10 and 2pm you will have some pretty long lines so just be aware.

It looks like we have a few new people checking in...so WELCOME! If you asked me for the luggage tags template, I will get them to you this week. Sorry for the delay. The Mini-Navigators are coming along well, If you have anything special that you want me to include...thats not on the spreadsheet let me know via PM.

I will now begin reading everying new that been posted since last week...so what are we talking here....only 5 or 6 pages right?!

Hey, did any of you hear about the guy that the Disney Wonder pulled out of the ocean? He was fighting with his ?girlfriend/wife, he threatend to jump overboard and she told him to go for it...so he did. I think he as on a carnaval cruise. GeeZ what some people will do to get on a Disney ship!...by the way, he was fine. I think he only spent about an hour in the ocean. I love that the Wonder found him before the coast guard arrived!
Sounds like Pixie Dust to me!


I got my first pair of real grown up reading glasses. so I should be easy to spot. My daughters say they look like harry potter glasses. Ha Ha

I know what you mean about being too excited to focus. I'm going to have to do a couple of quick projects at work the week we leave, but other than that, fuggetaboudit! DD10 has gymnastics workout the night before we fly out, but I've decided to have her skip it. She's going to be so hyped up that I'm afraid she'll lose focus and take a header off the balance beam and hurt herself.

2 months from now, we'll be in WDW, and 2 months, 1 week from today, we'll all be on the Magic!!

Personally, I think this would be a great icebreaker at the DISmeet if we were to do a "first person to show us X" thing there. That'd be Becky (Mousemom11) and Michelle (MRP4532) (did I get the names right?). But that's just my opinion, for what it's worth (prolly not a lot ). What do y'all think?

When I went to make my Palo ressies at the 105 day mark, the first thng I did was call DCL and try to find out what night would be Pirate Night. I was told that it would be Wednesday (Cozumel) night, so I went ahead and made my Palo booking for 8:00 pm Tuesday. If Pirate Night gets switched, we will just have to go with the flow, but it shouldn't be an issue. We are early seating for dinner so we can feed the kids, ship them off to the clubs at 7:30ish, go to Palo, and hopefully still be done in time for the 9:45 Pirate Party on deck, or at least for the 10:30 fireworks.

Hey, we are on vacation on Mickey's Boat so it's all good, right?

If you want to take part in the Secret Mickey (think Secret Santa) just fill out the info on the Data Sheet.

That is where you leave little trinkets in other people's Fish Extenders. I'm sure someone else will pop in with more info....

If you can't get it online, just ask any CM when you get onboard where they are taking Palo reservations (it's usually in one of the bars) - they hold a certain number of slots back for people who haven't been able to book online.

Well, I better get back to homeschooling by children.
