Here's the info from the spreadsheet as it currently stands:

Families
20 points of contact (i.e., Dissers)

Adults = 61
males = 26
females = 35

Oceaneer Club Kids (ages 3-7)
Male = 1
Female = 5

Oceaneer Lab Kids (ages 8-12)
Male = 3
Female = 12 (Oh my heavens...they are taking over!!! They can have the rest of the ship... I just need my quiet cove! LOL)

The Stack (teenagers)
Male = 4
Female = 2

1 female whose age isn't listed
1 child (age 8) whose name isn't gender specific
2 toddlers (both male)

Dining
Early = 19 (yeah, bigjack's 8 staterooms had nothing to do with this number, eh? LOL)
Late = 7

Dressing for pirate nite? 23

Fish Exchange? 20 (I'm just counting staterooms. I know some are planning to do kid only but I'm not sure if everyone that's doing kid only is listed as kid only. If y'all are going to do kid only, please pop out to the spreadsheet and mark that in the "Fish Exchange" column. Next time I run the numbers I'll use this info)

Dismeet on Sat? Still one no and one no response, so just about everyone's gonna be there.

Is this up to date? I have started working on the FE gifts, at least a broad plan, but I think I better make several extras in each age category...what do you think Denise?:thumbsup2

OHHHHHHHHH YES!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I'm getting kind of tired of find youtube videos for The Boy. He begs to see the "Pinky Mouse" boat, just some more mommy:rolleyes1
Can not wait :cheer2: CAN not wait.:banana:

We Tivo'd the DCL special on the Travel Channel and my DS watches it at least 3 times per week.

Could someone please point me to the Fish exchange post so we can figure it out?

IM sure it's fun, but like most things I have a hard time finding the posts.

Maybe cause I keep adding new posts :eek:

We are on page 105 of this thread, and we still have a few months to go. Maybe we set a record :lmao:

Hmmmm.... now that you mention it I don't know that we've had a specific fish exchange post. At the risk of telling you something you already know, here's some info.....

Outside your cabin door are these fish things on the wall. Several folks (I think it started here on the DIS) will hang a series of pockets from the fish, thus extending the fish. Here's a kind of far away view of what ours looked like but it may help impart the idea.

So, now those of use participating in the FE have these wonderful little pockets on our doors. Everyone participating in the FE takes it upon themselves to buy, make or otherwise acquire something to put in the pockets of everyone else that's participating. It can be just about anything. Last cruise we gave out a bunch of pirate themed party favors and I made my rounds and put them in everyone's fish extender on the morning of the Pirates IN the Caribbean party. Other folks gave burned CDs of island music and other type stuff. You want to balance the niceness of the gift with the fact that you'll have to be giving out several of these (one to everyone participating). Of course, if you win the lottery between now and the cruise and your last name becomes Rockefeller, we expect nicer stuff! :rotfl2:

The fun of the FE comes because it seems like just about every time you come back to your room someone's put something in your fish extender. So it's like a little present when you come back to your room. It can be a bag of candy or party favors or whatever... the fun is that it's a little treat and that's always fun.

Is that kind of the info you need? I hope it helps. Now as to how much stuff to get together for the FE, that's always a hard question to answer. When I post info from the spreadsheet I try to note how many staterooms are participating in the FE (and the last spreadsheet post is linked in my signature). Of course some will be doing kid only but a basic rule of thumb is that you know there can't be more than 4 people per stateroom. I believe Cynthia (Elderfam) is still planning on putting together a mini-navigator which will tell us (among other things) which staterooms are participating. That will be given out at the DIS meet on Saturday. (Cynthia... let me know when you want me to send you info about who's participating). Then it's just up to you to find a time that works to go around and give out your FE goodies.

Hope that helped. :confused3

Which reminds me... I need to get back to work on my fish extender. Oh, King Charming.... you know that suitcase full of cruise stuff I had you put on that really high shelf because we wouldn't need it for months? Well, we're five months out now and I need some stuff out of it.... please... pretty please?

Oh, one more FE thing... if you want to get some more ideas for FEs there's a thread on here somewhere about FEs. People post what theirs looked like and such. Also, I think I've seen them for sale on ebay. But honestly, I'm not all that crafty and if I can do it anyone can do it.

I always buy enough to make 40 goodie bags for DD's birthday parties and we usually only have 25 - 30 kids. So over the years, I have accumulated boxes of leftover party flavors, such as harmonicas, books, stickers, foam rockets, tatoos, etc, but only 10 or so of each item. My question is - can I use these as FE gifts? Or do I need to get enough quantities of the same item so every kid is getting the same thing?

Nope, those kind of things are perfect - it's not like the kids are going to sit around and compare what they got from everybody - they'll just be thrilled to get something (well, my kids will be anyways). I'm giving all the adults the same thing but the kids will be probably be receiving different things because I've been picking stuff up as I see it (in varying quantities). I'm really only differentiating between girls and boys.....

Hope this helps and doesn't just confuse the situation.....:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

You might want to try giving kids in the same stateroom similar stuff but I only say that because I remember how it was when my kids were young and when my sister and I were young. Other than that, sounds like you have it made in the shade!

But of coarse, if we hit the lottery I will buy all the DISERS All the food they can eat on the cruise and tacos on Cozumel:rotfl:

Good point. I'll do that and I'm so looking forward to getting rid of those boxes - just have to balance that with luggage space! I was also thinking of getting trade-able pins as FE gifts so the kids can partake in that. DD loves pin trading, would any other kids enjoy that?

PINS?!?!? My kids would love them but don't set the bar too high....I don't want people to be too disappointed with my gifts..:rotfl2:

Just kidding - I think any and all gifts are much appreciated - it's the thought that counts....

I've heard of folks shipping stuff to the ship so they could have it but not have to carry it on the airlines. I don't know anything about that since we're in N. Fla and we drive down, but it might be worth searching for on the DIS or maybe someone here knows about it.

As for pins, I love collecting pins too although I'm really just into those that mean something to me ... not seriously into it like some folks are. But I found that I didn't actually trade a lot on the ship. Maybe it's because I was just too relaxed but it always seemed to be a hassle to have the pins with me. And I didn't see that many either but maybe it had something to do with the drinks of the day :drinking1. King Charming does remember seeing on the Navigator that they had pin trading events.

I am planning to ship a box to myself on the ship. We're going to be at WDW for 10 days before the cruise and I'd rather not pack cruise-specific stuff in my luggage if I don't have to. Currently, I plan to ship the FE, FE gifts, door signs, pirate costumes, snorkel masks, and the girls' formal night clothes since we won't need any of that at WDW.

If you look in the FAQ Sticky on the main DCL board, you will find the directions on how to send a box to yourself on the ship.

I remember too that you can ship stuff, I was planning on shipping an inexpensive airmattress for my DS,and some other stuff. Now, I just need to remember where I put the address. :confused3.
Someone please sprinkle me with some anti-memory loss pixie dust:tinker:
