11/14/09 - Special Western - 2 CC stops

I'm sad to say that we won't be going to CC twice with you guys....we had to change our cruise so that we could still afford to go. We bumped to 5/30/09 and saved $1500. I'm hoping to be able to rebook for a future double dip but am just so happy that we can still go on a Disney cruise. Thanks again and have a great cruise!

Boo hoo... the good news is that not only do you still get to cruise, but get to do it six months before the rest of us!!!

Yes...I need to get planning asap...I'm not one for last minute changes to schedules or plans and have butterflies in my tummy just thinking about it! I gotta work on airfare next!

I agree - sorry that you will not be joining us but happy that you are still able to cruise. I saw your post earlier over on the main board - I take it all worked out OK. Time for you to kick into turbo-plan mode. Good luck and have a great trip!

Yup, we were in the SPH's and had to give them up....oh well hopefully we'll get a great upgrade since we're booked in cat. 12 gty for the new cruise. Have a great time..hopefully another great family will be next to you

Okay, for those of us remaining... what are we doing here -- the Survivor cruise? I'm beginning to wonder who's going to be left by the time we actually cruise in 255 days!

Speaking of which, this is probably a pretty good time to double-check the accuracy of the spreadsheet before I start running some more numbers. I'm going to list out Dissers that had signed up on our spreadsheet and who I think are still planning to do the Double Dip Delight. Please answer the roll call if you're still here. And if you know someone's still going but just not that active on the boards, please answer up for them.

We are going on the 11/14 double dip! Myself (Cynthia), DH (JT), DS (jonathan who will be 2). This will be our 4th cruise and our first DD!!!
Please let me know if there is a sign up sheet for Fish extenders or other activities. I would be glad to host the book exchange if no one has offered. I will hang a bag outside our room so people can drop off a book or pick one out if they want one. At the end of the cruise I will give the books to the staff.
Do we have a theme for this cruise yet? (I haven't back tracked to read the whole thread yet....but I will!)

Welcome elderfam! I think a book exchange is a great idea, as I'm a voracious reader. My favorite reading material on vacation are trashy romance novels, so I hope no one takes offense to books with gorgeous hunky men on the covers.

My mom and I are still going unless for some reason we absolutely don't care for DCL after our cruise this month. Hmmmm....I don't see that happening.

I will be glad to do the lanyards if they havent been spoken for. I already have the template from past cruises. Has anyone put a design together for this cruise?

On the subject of FE. In the past I have made CD's, bookmarks, luggage tags. I have also seen tatoos, pencils, candy with cruise logo wrappers (there is a whole giant thread dedicated to making candy wrappers and t-shirts. They will even make or DISign just for you!) notepads, lipbalm, mini-sewing kits, clips to hold your curtains closed, and even a disney mousepad!

I usually make a couple of extra Fish Extenders and have a purple Hannah Montana from our last cruise if anyone would like it.

elderfam. Mini navigators - have not seen those since the 11-night southern on the Wonder. I bet we have cruised with some of the same folks !

Book exchange - what a great idea. And mousemom11 - if anyone is offended, I will exchange with you as vacation reading for me is just the mushy, mindless stuff with happy endings.

I love lanyards but have an DVC one that works just fine for me - but would happily be part of it if that is decided.

And Denise - you bet we are going!

The problem is, that we are so busy at home that we never spend any time with each other. In the past when we have participated in meets, we loved getting to know everyone, but by the end of the trip, we still hadn't spent much time reconecting with our family. So this year we are not going to participate in the group meetings, but still want to do the FE's. Hope that makes sense.

We don't usually do a whole lot with the disboard group, but I do really enjoy meeting my fellow disers. I enjoy seeing the disboard lanyards in the hall and saying hello. When you find yourself in an elevator and realize the person standing next to you is someone you've chatted with on line makes it very easy to introduce yourself. We have run into many people in the parks that we have met on cruise. It's sort of like living in a small town where everyone waves at each other in passing and will stop to help you if you need it.
I think what your saying makes complete sense.

I hope anyone one else who feels the same will still sign up for the FE's. I get a big kick out of walking the halls in the middle of the night delivering little FE gifts! Ha Ha Just like Tinkerbell, it's all about ME! Ha Ha

Love the book exchange idea too...does that include magazines? I buy a lot of smut (ie. People, Us Weekly etc...thought I better clarify) when I travel. I also love the lanyard idea too...
