How does one private message someone? I have not done this before and I am trying to pm Hypermommy to get us hooked up for the URL. :confused3 Thanks for helping a girl out

See my name to the left of this message? If you click that you will get a dropdown list and the second one is to send a PM.

Good Luck!

Good news today, my mom got her Dr's approval to go on the cruise. He thought it was a great idea. Now the planning really begins. She is on oxygen 24/7 and will need an electric cart at WDW and the ship. We will also have to change out hotel reservations BUT that will be an upgrade!! We are leaving on a road trip to Calif and Vegas on Sat. Vegas will br just hubby and I. Should be a great time!!

Glad to know G'ma Eeyore gets to come! Please tell her I'm looking forward to meeting the lady that raised someone as fun to be around as you, MaryAz. But just remind her that I have no heart, and, ECV and oxygen or not, she's not gonna be getting all the nanner and lovestruck hugs around... those girls gotta give some of them to me, G'ma or no. :rotfl2:

But look on the bright side... with G'ma needing an ECV, that's another ride for the girls. They can take turns sitting on g'ma's lap and speedracering around the hotel balcony. And it should make doing laps on deck 4 much more fun for both her and the girls. :rotfl2:

So you're off to Vegas, huh? What is this, your new finance plan for the cruise? Well, best of luck with that! :rotfl2: Seriously though, hope you have a great time!!! :cool1:

And here's something for the girls

Don't you worry about your hugs, they can't wait to meet "Hypa"
Vegas was planned in summer before our retirement took the major hit it did. But we got great airfare and hotel AND someone to watch the kiddos soooo. Hopefully we will come home with something to contribute to the fund.

Hey all. I'm back on the thread after a short absence for cataract surgery. It went well and my vision is much better. But it did give me one heck of a black eye. I need a sign that says My Doctor Did This to Me, Not my Husband. :lmao:

Just think, 1 year from now our cruise will be 1/2 over. Ewwww. :scared1:

Regarding the Saturday DIS meet, I was also thinking about the Promenade Lounge, as it looks like it's used for DIS meets a lot. However, if we can fit, it might be nice to be by the pool, so our kids could swim and get to know each other that way. I think location would be determined by what we want to do at the meet and how many of us there are. If we adults just want to socialize with the DOTD, then the pool might be a great alternative. If there are a lot of us and/or we want to do something a bit more structured (like a gift swap), then the Promenade Lounge would probably be the better venue.

Also, I was thinking that it would be nice to have a group picture taken. We all have our own cameras, but what about having a DCL photographer take one as well? Maybe in the atrium? For those of you who have attended DIS meets in the past, what did your group do that you think would be fun for us to do?

mousemom11, glad you're back!

I like the idea of meeting outside if the weather's pretty and everyone feels sure we'll have enough room. And I LUV the idea of a DCL photographer taking a group picture, but I wonder if it would be better to do it later in the week? My concern is that everyone might not be on board or able to make it to the meet on departure day. There had been talk at one point about a second meet later in the week. Would it make more sense to have the photographer at that one?

I would think that DCL would be happy to have a photographer at both events. That way, we can have a photo opportunity at each event.

I was on the 11 night southern on the Wonder back in 2006 (I think that is when it was) and we had a group picutre taken in the atrium on Pirate Night with everyone dressed up. Neat picture - we just did the best we could to coordinate with all dining times and we had an awesome turnout. Sadly - the Lindamood's were late and they were all done by the time we got there so I didn't get one. The others that I have seen posted here have all seemed to be in the atrium as well.

My suggestion - I would say in the atrium during a sea day for a group photo or at some point on Castaway maybe too. They are busy taking pictures of the people boarding Saturday and I am not sure that we could secure one at that point. I could offer up DH (he takes lots of pics) and then share with everyone once we get home if you want to get candids.

Hi all,

Just popping in for a quickie. :cool1:

I like the idea of meeting outside so kids can swim as that will be a great icebreaker for the kids and probably easier on the parents of those kids too. But I defer to the judgment of parents of younger kids on this one. My two are old enough at this point that they can go swimming in the Disney pool without my constant supervision because if they get in "trouble" (i.e., drowning type trouble) they can just stand up. And if they can't figure out how to stand up to get out of trouble then, well.... I guess I have an heir and a spare for a reason and I can afford to lose one, eh? :rotfl2:

Only question I have is would that change when/where/if we want to do a Yankee Trade/White Elephant type of thing. Might be hard to do on deck. But then again, maybe I'm overthinking it. I do tend to do that, don't I, King Charming? :rotfl2:

I love the idea of a photographer too and the atrium seems like a nice area. I do think the first day will be difficult and that pirate night or some other time might be better. If we want to take a vote on which night or something y'all let me know and I can set up a poll on our website.

Speaking of our website, we've got a few folks carrying on directed conversations over there. One of the things I've found I like about having our own board for this cruise is that a specific discussion of, for instance, what you're going to do on Grand Cayman doesn't get lost in the posts here. I've found I can find things more easily over there. So y'all come on over and join us. Just PM me with your request and I'll get you the link.

Oh, and also speaking of our website, don't forget that we have a gallery over there so it's a safe place to show us all pics of yourselves and the kids. Only thing with the gallery is once you sign up, I have to go in and approve your membership. And sometimes I forget, right Marnie? :rotfl2: If I don't approve your membership within a day or so you're more than welcome to come over here and publicly beat me with a wet noodle. :worship:

Okay... time for me to get back to work. Gotta try to get two Christmas kits finished and a couple of collaborations and it'd be nice to be able to scrap too :lmao:

Here's for my gals

AWESOME website I might add.

Something our last group did (as there was lots of chatting going on getting to know each other), if you have something cruise related, important in either a question or a comment, type it in red, that way, we all know to not skip it.

So, I finally figured out how to post pictures in the Double Dip Delight Photo Gallery!

I need to find a picture of myself and DH - hard to do since I'm usually the one taking the pictures.

Feels like -17 here today with the windchill - BRRRR!! - shouldn't we be on Castaway Cay for our second visit today?!?!?!?

Cheers,
Lisa

Yes, a year today will be a sort of sad day as it will be the day before our vacations are over - or the Lindamood's anyway. CC can be a bitter sweet stop IMHO.

Yes, well, you'll have been on that beautiful ship for 2 weeks - maybe you'll be able to stow away for a 3rd!!!!

Good idea but, sadly, we will have to head home so that we can save up money to cruise in 2010.

But, back2back2back is awesome sounding!

We're booked for the 11-day mediterranean in 2010 and one of the ladies on that thread is doing a back2back2back. She's doing the 12-night Northern European capital, the repo from Dover to Bacelona, then the 11-night med. Talk about jealousy!!

I don't get that much vacation time but what an awesome trip! How lucky they are.

If we win the Lotto 649 tonight ($17 million!!!), we'll be joining her because I won't have to worry about vacation days:laughing:  . A girl can dream, can't she?!?!?!?

Cheers,

Hey, I'm with you! Maybe we should share numbers or something and split the pot. I think I could be happy with $8.5M.... I think. :rotfl2:
