11/05/05 Western - Who's with Us?

magmom, where is oakdale NY?

Glad to know some more people going on our cruise. :goodvibes

Welcome aboard! Our DS is 5 also. The only excursion we are planning is the Captain Marvin's Stingray City. We'll have to look for each other and see if we can hook up DSs. Last time we were in GC we did an island tour by bus/taxi and stopped at the Turtle Farm. That was cool to. We are hoping to Mini Golf in Cozumel this time since DS napped and didn't make it last time. I hear the Mini Golf is great!

DS can't wait to swim with the fishes :rotfl:

Hi Scouter!!!

Oakdale, NY is on the south shore of Long Island. Where is Liverpool?

Travelingmice,

We're thinking of doing Stingray City with Captain Marvin's also. My DS LOVES the stingrays at our local aquarium!!! :fish: Have you already booked it? Are you planning on doing the 2 or 3 hour trip? Let me know. It would be nice to do it with other families! :thewave:

We are flying in Saturday morning. We are planning on using Happy Limo to get to Port Canaveral. We've used them last time we went to WDW and they were great. Does anyone have any other better/quicker/cheaper suggestions or is that the way to go?

1999 - WDW, All Star Movies
2000 - WDW, All Star Movies
2003 - WDW, Coronado Springs
2005 - DCL, Magic (Western)

Check with who you booked your trip with, but there is a bus available right at the airport to take you to the ship. There are DCL cast members in the airport to take you right to the ship. It's a very nice bus with a little movie before you get on board.

Paul

magmom, I guess we're pretty far away....Liverpool is just outside of Syracuse NY...upstate. So we're probably 4 hours apart.

We're planning that Captain Marvins also with travelingmice. I was just waiting to hear her say which one
to book and then we'll book too. My son is older than all your kids but we'll have fun going with some people that we have met before.

We are also doing a limo or towncar down and back, I don't know which one because I paid through my travel agent and haven't gotten all the details yet.

The bus is nice too, but we did the towncar instead (for hardly anything more than the bus!) because we booked an early flight back to Syracuse and I was not sure that the bus could make it back in time because it has to gather so many more people.

Hi to Paul too!

We'll have to plan a meeting for all of us!

Hi Everyone! Sorry it took me a while to get back about Captain Marvin's..it's been crazy at work and we were stuck in training all last week.

On to happier events...I called today to book the 1/2 day (3hr) excursion at 10am to 1pm. If you call and want to be in the same group tell them you want to be with the "Sabo" group and they will link your reservation with mine. I can't wait :Pinkbounc !!

This is my first post ever - anywhere!
We will be going on our first Disney Cruise Nov. 5th - Western! It will be me, my 2-yr old son and my mother. We are so excited! Every Monday I have to call Mom to give her the "countdown" days until we sail! I'm trying to get my son excited by asking him if he wants to go on a boat with Mickey Mouse. Yes he does!

Hi Magmom :wave2: We used Happy Limo to get us from the airport to the Radisson last year, and it worked out just fine. I think this year we're going to rent a van one-way through Budget. This way we're on our own as far as timing to get to the port and not depending on the shuttle from the hotel.

bensmom493 :wave2: I'm sure your DS will be just as excited as you and your Mom seem to be. Wait until you see the ship for the first time :hyper: it's just amazing.

It will soon be the 90 day mark, anyone else have their plans sorted for Palo`s? I thought we might try for the second night, does anyone have an idea what time the sunset will be in Key West?
Apart from that we have no plans for this trip at all, it`s just me and DH, we are`nt planning on any excursions.
DH is looking forward to the cinema and I`m looking forward to a latte in the Cove Cafe.

Bye for now.

Julie.

Hi Julie :sunny:
I don't have any plans for Palo, since I'm single and it's for couples, but
I would meet up for a Latte with anyone! Yum!

Rose :wave2:

Thanks for the great welcome! :teeth:
I have two questions, I guess I booked kinda late, so I am stuck in the second dinner seating. With a 2-yr old, I would prefer to have the first seating, any ideas on getting this changed? There are 3 in our group.
Q#2- I have a "guaranteed ocean view" room but no room number at this time. Should I be concerned?
Anyone else traveling with a 2-yr old?
Thanks for any info!

Hi Gang!!

Unfourtunately Michelle & I will not be joining you guys on this cruise. We hope you guys have a great time & we'll be thinking of you in November.

Thanks

Paul

Hi bensmom!

I booked back in February and wasn't able to get the early seating!!! :confused3 You can ask to be put on the wait list for the early seating - that's what I did.

Good luck!!! :flower1:

Bensmom493, you also can try to get your rotation changed when you board the ship. When you check in, you'll be given some papers that will tell you where to go to get dining rotations changed. Just in case you can't, all hope may not be lost. I don't know what time your little one goes to bed, but sometimes the late dining can work even with little ones. One advantage is that the show is before dinner, so little ones are awake to enjoy :confused3 Good luck getting the seating that works best for you.

I think DH and I are going to try for a Formal Night Palo dinner ressie. I'd also like to do Brunch on Sunday, because it will be our 12th wedding anniversary ... but he doesn't seem to be buying into that yet :confused3

Paul, I'm sorry you're not going now. You must be bummed.
Thanks for trying to hook up with us for dinner anyway.
Maybe we'll meet some time on another cruise.
Best of luck to you
Rose

I don't know why I waited to post on this thread, but YEAH!, we're down to double digits. This will be our first DCL cruise. It will be me, DH, DS 11 and DD8. Looking forwards to cruising and meeting everyone.
