I called Disney Cruise line, and was told there has not been an official change to our itinerary yet. Have you heard differently? Will they post it on the website, or how do they relay the info? Claire

When they modified the itinerary on the Magic that left this past Saturday the change was posted on Disney's website on Friday.

They arrived today.

As to itinerary, we don't care where we go since we love our Disney Cruise! I would love for them to take us different places since we have done both Eastern and Western before. We prefer the Western, but the Eastern was nice too. We were discussing it and there were things that we would do again/didn't do but would like to if we end up Eastern. I just don't want to see Nassau and Freeport ever again!

Suzanne-We are not beach people and other than CC we haven't stepped foot on one. For the Eastern, at St Marteen I would suggest the butterfly farm. It was really cool to see. As for St Thomas, we did the island tour and the aquarium (or whatever they call it). That was nice too. St Thomas was beautiful. Also, we noticed a "skyride" that was walking distance from the pier that we did not get the chance to do but looked interesting.

Oh well - we're off on Saturday for WDW, so who knows when we'll find out where we're going!

Sounds like our kids are similar. My 11 daughter like fashion also and my 8 year old daughter loves soccer (she consideres herself a tomboy). We've been to Disney but never on a cruise. I have a feeling no matter where we end up port-ing, it will be a great trip. We'll have to meet up!

I am very sad to say but if DCL goes ALL Eastern for our cruise & I have the option to cancel I will be doing so. I just keep going over & over the information on the boards, in my Birnbaum's & my passporter but there is just nothing of interest to me. It's nothing but beaches as far as I can tell. The idea of spending an entire day sitting on a beach (no matter how beautiful) is like watching paint dry to me. I don't like to tan (my father died with skin cancer) and I usually find the ocean far to cold to swim in. I hate to sound negitive, but my heart is just broken right now.

Given your negative attitude toward beaches I am really surprised you picked a cruise for a vacation. These ships take you to islands that have some of the worlds most beutiful beaches and water. I saw that your son has an allergy to the seawater, but you can still enjoy there beauty. CC is the highlight of the cruise and most of the activities involve the beach or the ocean.

We did the Eastern trip twice and western once. Many of our plans for the West are ruined, but we still plan on having a great time on the cruise. We enjoyed the western more so than the eastern, but the east was still fun!

St John is a beutiful island and many enjoy driving the island and seeing the sights. There are many things on St Thomas to due as well. Blackbeards castle, shopping, a great milkshake from the local dairy, etc. I would think you would definitely be able to find something to enjoy on these beautiful islands. Do hold yourself to the excursion offered by Disney. There are many more things to do and see than what they offer and usually for less money.

Travellingmice, I've been to St. Thomas before & I do remember the aquarium being pretty cool. It's right in the ocean isn't it?

For St. Maarten I'm thinking the 2 flag island tour or the 3 hour walk in the forest. I can do at least 20mins on the treadmill these days so I'm sure getting up to 3hrs in a week will be no problem. (I'm seriously considering it ) Unfortunatly the butterfly farm is kind of out since we live very close to Niagara Falls Canada & they have a huge butterfly farm that we've been to many many times.

Most of us are excited to be going on our cruise whether it is to the west or the east. We will adjust and have a great time! You want to cancel a fantastic trip because of a change in plans because of a devastating storm. This is always possible during hurrican season. Just read on RCCL web site that they have cancelled a cruise entirely to use the ship for humanitarian relief.

What would you think if Disney did that? I would be upset, but realize that millions are mush worse off me. I am missing a vacation. For many of them their lives have changed forever. Disney will still provide an excellent vacation even if it is not to our first choice in destination.

Still looking forward to our 4th Magical Disney Voyage.

I'm sorry you find the possibility of me cancelling MY trip so offensive to you. I don't believe I have suggested to anyone to follow the same course of action neither have I claimed that I didn't understand why DCL had to make changes, nor have I made any derogatory comments to any of the ports on the Eastern other then they weren't for me. If anyone feels I was derogatory to the Eastern ports I truly apoligize. Since millions of people vacation there every year & LOVE it I know I"m in the minority. I meant no disrespect to those that prefer those ports.

So Sean, please stop worrying about whether I choose to still go or change to another date. Really I don't care if you wear your jeans or suit to Palo.

Given the chance to research the eastern ports, and to sleep on it overnight, I am backed to being excited about my cruise! I just hope we have good weather, and that we all stay healthy. I was happy to see a variety of snorkeling expeditions on the eastern route, and I have assured my family that we will still have "pirate night" and all the fun of Disney going on a different route. I did talk to Disney yesterday, and they feel a decision will be made by Friday about the cruise. The Disney rep did say Cozumel did not look good. I know my kids will just be happy doing all the stuff on the ship and meeting lots of new friends. Even my 13 year old daughter is excited, and already has all her stuff laid out in the floor of her room to pack her suitcase! Here's to the drink of the day! Hope some of you will join me walking on the track of the ship (working off the drink of the day!) Claire

We are staying at the Royal Pacific in Universal. We booked a trip and cancelled once we decided on a 7 day cruise, but were unable to get our deposit back. How is the hotel, it looks like you stayed there before. Claire

Nope, no Docs yesterday ... but there's still hope for today At least my TA will be in the office today for my phone call

Also, not that it really matters ... but we're not staying at the Radisson this time like it says in the list. Our flights were changed so we're now landing in Orlando at the same time we were expecting to take off from Hartford ... so we're staying in DTD Friday night and driving ourselves out to the port on Saturday morning.

Have I mentioned that I haven't started packing yet and my 6 yo DS is starting to freak Every morning we do our countdown and today he said, "Mom do you know that we are leaving in only 10 days and we're not even packed yet." I promised him that I'd get it done this weekend.

It's funny because I am much more into planning than DH, but he is the one upset at the probability of an itinerary change...we have been to St. Martin several times, both on a cruise and visits to the island itself, also have been to st. thomas/st.john on the same cruise as st. martin-never been to key west , cozumel , GC or CC so we were really looking forward to new places-also loved the way the itinerary flowed island, sea, island, island, sea, island...didn't want too many days at sea...so now he's gotten me a little bummed out, too, but I still say we'll all have fun and hopefully hurricanes are gone now!!!!!!!!!
