11/01/03 Eastern Cruisers, I know you're out there!!!

~STAMPING FOOT~ I want mine! I want mine!

But I've decided they can wait a few more days if an upgrade is included (aren't I generous?).

Hopefully since I'm more mid-Western/headed West, they'll be here today!

IMPORTANT QUESTION RE: DOCS

Any info on a Halloween activity? Last year (10/26 cruise) in our welcoming letter it did say something about the Halloween stuff.

I'm getting ready to start an e-mail for the Radisson folks to put together something for Friday night; but I'll hold off if there are on-board activities!

Thanks!

Nothing on Halloween. Here's some pixie dust for that upgrade.

I want mine too! I don't even care if there's an upgrade
(I picked a room I would be happy with although I wouldn't complain if I got one :p), I'm just looking for something new to drool all over. I've been through my PassPorter I can't tell you how many times, I've checked out the excursions and am addicted to these boards not to mention I've even started packing some things. I am sooo ready!

I've read somewhere that if you've boked through a TA that you may not receive your docs until 2 weeks before (something to do with the air arrangement)....oh please tell me it isn't so...I don't think I can wait that long!

we booked through DU, but so did savsawmom and she got hers! Per an e-mail, they were sent on 9/19 from Celebration, FL (she lives in Tampa) via UPS and no signature is required (different from last year, we had to sign for them via FedEx). She thinks they would have been delivered to her Mon, but she didn't put her work suite number.

So traveling half-way across the country would make today "ideal" for mine!

I don't really care about the upgrade either; just happy to be on the ship (but I'll take it in a heartbeat too!)

Ok, moving ahead with Halloween at the Radisson plans; will send an e-mail to those I have down for it later today!

This is my first post ever. My wife and I (no kids) will be on the Nov. 1 sailing on the Magic. It is my 3rd time and her 2nd. We are planning to have a nice relaxing trip this time. We are not really planning on doing anything in St. Martin, and are just planning to go to Magens Bay on St. Thomas. The last 2 trips we rented cars and drove around the islands like nut's trying to see everything, this time, we just want to relax and enjoy ourselves. Any tips on getting to Magen's Bay? I am thinking about just taking a taxi, but my wife is worried about getting dropped of and not being able to get a cab back. I was also wondering what the earliest time to board the boat is? I am as much of a Hockey fan as I am a Disney nut, (growing up in Niagara Falls will do that to you), and am looking forward to seeing some games in the ESPN Club. I'm also mildly intrigued by the whole pin trading thing. I'd love to hear from you all. Take care.

Jon

After seeing that everyone else is getting theirs this week, I e-mailed my TA and told her how to get a hold of me this week and her response was "They're here!" :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I can't pick them up until tomorrow -- something about she needed to review them to make sure they were correct -- but I can't wait!

Welcome Jon!

Last year we arrived at the port about 10:30 or so and were first in line (after the special needs and Category 1, 2, & 3 folks) to board. I think we began boarding about 12:15 or so. If you want to avoid the lines, the general thought is to arrive about 1:00.

No help on the ports; this is our first trip East

Quick Update - E-mail to those who showed interest in a Radisson Halloween event has been sent. Please check your e-mail as you have time!

Things are really starting to happen now!

Welcome! We went to Magen's Bay last year. I was really concerned about the taxi too because noone would really explain it to me and I couldn't picture how it worked. When you get off the ship there are many taxi (vans or open air) waiting to take you where you want to go. I think it was about $7.00 a person. They take you on a really nice and fast ride to Magen's Bay and you have to pay $2.00 each to get in. It was beautiful there. My DH's favorite site though was the waitress in a bikini who took your drink orders. When you are ready to leave there is another taxi station right where you were dropped off with many taxis waiting to take you back to the ship. Some people decided to be left off in town to shop on the way back before going to the ship. It is really easy to do on your own. Tell your DW not to worry at all.

Masonpips:

What time are you all planning the Halloween celebration at the Radisson. I know I wasn't sure whether we could join in but if traffic is good and we get in early you never know.

This is my 1st post!
We will also be on the 11/1 cruise.
My dh is addicted to this board and now has me hooked! We (dd7, dd4, dh and me) will be at the Raddison on Halloween and would love to join in the festivities. This is our first disney cruise and we are all very excited! My dh just informed me what he has been doing (reading all the posts but not posting himself) is called lurking! So I'm the talkative one! Any chance to join in the conversation I'm there! All the information you have all shared is very informative and is getting me very excited about our vacation! Looking forward to a wonderful time!

Woo HOO! Welcome - let's get out these lurkers out of the closet!

RudeMNcruisers; shoot me an e-mail at cotchdc_99@yahoo.com and I'll get you on the Halloween list!

P.S. No docs here today :( I held out the great white (brown, UPS) hope until 7:30 or so, but no show...

There's always tomorrow

and, sweetspot - we were thinking 9 p.m. - will that work for you?

Pixie Dust for Masonpips!! I hope they come soon. I have mine and haven't have time to go over them. I booked this time directly with DCL and paid before time so I know that helped in getting them sooner.

We better be there by 9:00PM! I hope we are all still awake to join the fun. We are up and driving at 3:00AM.

Just wanted to pop in and say welcome to the new cruisers!!!
Welcome Jonjerico and RudeMNcruisers!!!

Still no news from the travel agent but she will probably wait until all of the group's docs arrive.

CRUD! You may see my post on the main board; our docs went to TX! ARGH! I called DCL direct and am not sure where the mix-up occurred; we had updated with them and DU (new credit card requires new billing address so I know they have our new address). I've emailed them too.

We don't know the people who bought our house so we can't contact them. I hope they refuse them (vs. throwing them away). I guess they can be re-issued. I really hope it's not a case where we have to pick them up at the Terminal (OMG, that would be AWFUL for a planner like me; tell me it isn't so).

She did confirm my room number; so I don't have to worry about an upgrade any longer ;)

And I asked about dinner rotation (you never know) and she made a note we wanted APL but we had done that before and it didn't sound like it was in there). WHY won't they tell you your rotation in advance?

Debbie- That is a major bummer!!!!!:(

((((HUGS TO YOU))))

Hopefully, you will get your docus before too long here.

It is a pain that they do not give us our rotation and seating assignments. I'm sure it is assigned and already planned oh well I guess it adds to the surprise and reservation scramble if you need to change it.

Good news: John e-mailed me back and they will re-issue docs. I'm supposed to let him know if I don't have them by 10/7!

We were both happy they sent them so early and we had time to fix this. I think the Dry Dock probably helped us out there!

Oh That is terrible Debbie Glad to hear they are straightening things out though. I hope you receive them soon. Bummer on No upgrade. I had booked a cat 4 gty so I had the slightest bit of hope with all theupgrades going on but I was not in any way expecting it. I would've loved cat 3 because I am not sure how my ds will do at dinner.I was not however willing to pay the price for it so I will be happy with what I have. It has always seemed like plenty of space for the short time we are in the room.
Has anyone started packing???

I'm so glad that people are getting their documents. It means we are getting close. So far no sign of ours.
Even called our TA & she said she is receiving them, but people before our trip. Darn!!
I started packing our incidentals (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, etc) about a month ago----can you tell I'm excited? I'm more excited than our 2 dd. Have been for along time. This forum brings back the kid in me. Thanks for all your help.
Now countdown until our documents come:tongue:

Hello -

Just wanted to say four more from NJ checking in. We were on Nov 2002 cruise and loved it, so much invited the grandparents to join us on this one. Unfortunately, they are from PA - but they are coming.

Got our documents in the mail. Now the kids are starting to count down the days. We arrive on Thurs evening, so we get to trick or treat at the Magic Kingdom!

We love the Mouse!
