Wow - almost 4 months since this year's thread started! Happy Halloween, all. I updated the list above, and of course on the Google Drive. Note we have lost a few folks here are there as plans are finalized.

Thanks the vast majority for responding so quickly! Of course I am sure the weather has altered many people's lives lately, so if you did not have a chance to respond to my email, don't worry! I'll cycle back thriough and remind people next week.

I would like to say magicalmcwho and I have been working on this share a little magic tree sharing for the past 8 years. Last year I decided to wait until aug./sept. to start the thread. When I came back to the disboards here I found out the the thread was already started. As we all know when you start a thread no one can modify the thread with out a password. This would have made things difficult for me to arrange and assign trees. I really had no choice but let MrShiny continue the thread. This year again the thread was started and some of the rules modify. Don't get me wrong, I thank MrShiny for is hard work for continuing the thread to keep the Magic going. Magicalmcwho and I were a great team and next year we will continue the share alittle magic
Tree sharing in aug./sept. when everyone has the holiday plans set. MrShiny is welcome to help out. We are not looking for any credit, we just miss sharing the magic with our dvc families. Thank you for your support magicalmcwho and MrShiny.

I added a new column to the sheet to show how much of each family's stay they will have the tree. The goal is 100%, but with so many overlapping stays, I took the position of the greatest good to the greatest number and split time with the trees. Still, I think it came out pretty well:

Families with tree 100% of stay: 28
Families with tree 70-90% of stay: 15
Families with tree 50-70% of stay: 16
Families with tree less than 50% of stay: 7

If anyone wants to shift days around, let me know asap. We did have one great family who gave up their tree to allow two others to have more days as they both had younger children. Remember the season is about nothing if not sharing!

Thanks - that means a lot, Sue! I did offer back in August to turn over the thread I started to wdwstar and magcalmcwho, just so folks know.

The point is to keep this going. I did change some things based on my experience last year, and know at the least I'll be donating a tree again next August or September when the new list goes up!

Would love to be included, but not sure if we are too late. We are new DVC members and have never been for the Holidays yet. I didn't know such a thing existed but what a great idea. We are going to be at Bay Lake Tower Dec 1st to the 9th. My childrens ages are 11,7,4. Please let me know either way. Thanks. PS we are safe and sound but still waiting for power and have some repairs to fix.

Sorry, we had to close the list 10/26 so people can start shipping trees. WDWSTAR should have next year's list up in August/September.

One person had asked me alternatives to the WDW florist for trees. I suggest (if not part of the exchange), get a 3-4" artifical tree, ship it to yourself at your resort (marked to the attenion of "GUEST" your name with your checkin date).

At the end of your trip, you can ship it back or check it in on your flight.

OK, our first tree is away! It is currently in the care of UPS on it's way to BCV.

There are still some folks I need to confirm their participation, so I'll try PMing them (already tried email). As of course many dis folks are out east and things are in varying degrees of disarray, that is understandable! We'll just assume folks are all staying where and when they said and go from there.

Remember, let me track down trees that go misssing. Just let me know via PM or email and I'll update you. Do let me know how to get in touch, as I know not everyone is online over their vacation!

We are rolling now! BCV2 is due to arrive Friday 11/16. SSR1 was just shipped. VWL tree was dropped off with CM Colin.

I also have been getting pictures of most of the tree boxes, in case any go missing.

Remember when you ship a tree, send me the tracking number. When you drop off a tree, send me the name of the CM who accepted it (and a picture if you can).

Having this "chain of custody" makes it much easier for me to help tracking down any trees that go missing.

The first of our trees should be on display Thursday! Please post pictures of the tree (optionally with your family) here on disboards.

I am just making sure I have it right as I am writing general instructions for the BWV tree. You are requesting to be told which CM took the tree as each family hands the tree back to Bell Services. That's a huge committment on your part! Are you sure?!

Yes - in most cases, the tree will pass without incident. But when one goes missing, having the nme of the person is very helpful! Last year we had a couple that were "lost" until we found the right person who remembered what part of the luggage storage room they put it in!

I don't mind doing it. It's my little vicarious trip to WDW! This way people actually on a real vacation don't have to try to track down trees!
