10th Anniversary Celebration ~ Any ideas?

We've celebrated birthdays before at WDW but never an anniversary. I would love to hear ideas, suggestions, and personal experiences!

These are some of the places we will be eating:

Garden Grill , Crystal Palace, Tony's Town Square, Sci Fi, The Plaza, Le Cellier,
Chef Mickeys, 50's Prime Time, 1900 Park Fare, Polynesian Luau, O'Hana, Liberty Tree Tavern, Mickey's Backyard BBQ, & Teppan Edo

If you had a ADR for Coral Reef, you could have personalized menus and possibly a diver hold up a banner for free.

There are threads about different cakes you could order and have delivered.

We got absolutely gorgeous champange glasses at CRT (breakfast) for our 10th anniversary. It was such a wonderful surprise and they make such a wonderful keepsake from this trip. We also got cupcakes at Ohana, CRT, and Crystal Palace and autographed signs at CRT and Crystal Palace. All just for being married for 10 years - LOL! Enjoy!

We just returned from WDW @ the GF resort and celebrated our 15th anniversary. We were given the anniversary buttons and were greeted various places throughout the MK on the day we wore them and I had ordered from the GF bakery, the chocolate Mickey with tuxedo strawberries with Happy 15th written on it to be delivered to our room. It wasn't there when we arrived in our room like it was suppose to be but it was quickly resolved and it was soooooooo lovely. It was a surprise for my hubby and he normally doesn't go over for things like that but he REALLY appreciated it and said, "how pretty" If you would prefer a cake, I would suggest the cute little Mickey cake that GF does too. It is handpiped. We didn't get it for our anniversary but did for our kid's b-days at 1900 Park Fare on our arrival night. It was beautiful and very good. I'll try and post pics of both later. We just returned a week ago and have a new puppy so I've been kind of busy but I'll try and post later

Just go out and eat with the kids like 1900 Park Fare or CRT for breakfast. That is what we did so we could celebrate everything. We didn't need private stuff away from the kids to still celebrate our 15th. We still had a great time and being at Disney and GF, was celebration enough for us throughout our whole visit. Anywhere you choose to eat like 1900 Park Fare, etc., you can celebrate your Special Anniversary. We also had the slipper dessert delivered to our table at the CRT breakfast for me and dd welcoming us as the princesses. You could also get a bottle of champagne/wine delivered to your room or do room service and you would still celebrate and be with your kids. That is what we did.

We ordered this for my daughters birthday once and it was beautiful! She LOVED it! The Mickey you mentioned sounds adorable as well! We're skipping CRT this time around. Tried it twice before and didn't really enjoy the food or service so much.

I agree with the champagne & strawberries idea. Have them delivered to your room, as an anniversary gift to your DH. You could wait until the kids are sleeping, & enjoy your goodies on the balcony or even in the room. You'll have special alone time w/ hubby, & still be able to keep an eye on the kids.

If you want to go the cake route, I'd order one for your 1900 PF meal. The GF bakery makes some of the nicest cake. You can also get the chocolate slipper & castle cake there. If that doesn't work for you & you'd consider switching to a meal at YC/BC, their pastry chef has been making beautiful cakes recently.

Sorry, I don't know about free things they may offer. We've never listed our anniversary on our ADRs. Maybe, we should next time.

We are choosing Artist's Point for our 10th anniv dinner this October, but we are leaving the girls with Grandma.

When I made my ADR, the CM asked if we were celebrating anything special and made a big deal about it when I told her the occaision. She made a special point to let me know that she had made a note on the reservation in the computer, and that we should arrive 15min early to remind the hostess of the occaision and to ask for a table by the windows.

I would recommend that you call back and add a not about your anniversary celebration to several of your ADRs, not just the actual night!

Sorry the one poster didn't enjoy CRT. It was right up there with 1900 Park Fare for food, character interaction. The breakfast at CRT was DELICIOUS and we had wonderful servers and the princess interaction was awesome. From the pic downstairs with Cinderella to the wishing stars and wishing ceremony with the wands and swords, it was just a MAGICAL wonderful experience. You coudln't beat the ambience of eating in the castle and then for the food to be GREAT and SERVICE too, just made it truly a MAGICAL experience for our family. Again, it was our best breakfast of our trip and 1900 park fare was 2nd.

I had forgotten when I took the picture that it was after we had stuck a candle a piece in each of Mickey's ears, LOL for the kids to blow out. It was their belated Disney b-day celebration and their welcome to Disney for their first time. We orderd this through the GF bakery and it was delivered at the end of our meal. It was delicious. Looking at the kids expressions on their face was sooooooo worth it. They LOVED it and ate 2 pieces

Oh, and hubby thought the strawberries looked so tempting that as you can see from the photo, he ate a bite out of one BEFORE I had a chance to take a picture, LOL Priceless though Made me feel it was so worth preplanning for when he dug into one as soon as he saw them

I ordered this too from the GF Bakery and it was suppose to be in our room upon arrival but it wasn't but that issue was quicky resolved and after we had dinner at the 1900 Park Fare that night on our arrival night, we came back to our room and it was there. It was really pretty and the strawberries were YUMMY! Even hubby appreciated it. I did it for a surprise for him and I and he truly thought it was very cute.

I don't think they'll put anything in your room, prior to arrival. They shouldn't have told you they would. The front desk occasionally changes room assignments at the last minute. They need to wait until you've checked in to make sure they're putting it in the right room.

Also, I have a question about the white chocolate Mickey. When I see the pics, I always wonder if people eat them. I know you can, but is it too much of a good thing? Just curious!
