Hello everyone!
I am going to DW in April and am trying to plan what camera equipment to bring. I have a Nikon D80 and plan on taking my 50mm and my 18-200 lenses with me but have been thinking about renting (or maybe buying) the 10mm fisheye lens to bring along as well. Any opinions on this lens? I was thinking I could get some cool looking shots with it at the different parks. If you have it, is it a sharp lens? Would you recommend getting the Nikon or the Sigma version? Any help would be much appreciated!
THANKS!
Heidi

I  LOVE  my Nikon 10.5mm Fisheye. Disney is an awesome place to experiment with it. I like the fisheye look- but you can also use Capture NX to de-fish the look. You loose a bit but is still ultra-wide and sharp. I will post some pictures later- I have a bunch of other stuff uploading right now.

Thanks and I would LOVE to see some pictures with it! You have my dream camera!! I have been drooling over the d300 for months now! Any thoughts on if the upgrade from a d80 to d300 would be worth it (I am assuming YES!) I just can't get past the fact that I already have a perfectly good, working camera...do I REALLY need the d300? Okay so maybe it's not about needing...:p
Thanks for your help!

I love the D300- the best features upgrading from the D80 are mechanical IMHO with manual controls and a sealed body (which the D200 has also). Beyond that I have really enjoyed the better ISO performance, the better LCD, and the 8fps with the battery grip.

Jeff those are some awesome photos - even if they did come from a Nikon. ;)

:goodvibes

Oh wow, those are awesome! I would love to be able to shoot at higher ISOs so that would be one big reason for me to upgrade. Thanks for sharing your pictures!

Gdad, the Rock-n-Rollercoaster pic is great. I already figured that I had to make a trip there at night after seeing a couple other pics that people have taken... guess I really better make it happen! (Actually, it probably won't since we'll only have one night at MGM and that'll be busy with Fantasmic, but who knows...)

Heidi, I am a really big fan of fisheyes. On my last WDW trip, I took (along with my DSLR) my film SLR, mainly to use my Zenitar 16mm fisheye (full 180' but only on a film camera). These were scanned off prints so please forgive a little dust and imperfect color/sharpness. The Zenitar is razor-sharp and a fanastic fisheye for film or full-frame cameras.

Since then, I bought the Pentax 10-17mm fisheye, which is almost the same lens as the Tokina 10-17mm which is available in non-Pentax mounts. I did a Disneyland trip with the lens last August.

I can't wait to use it at WDW next month. :teeth:
