Have all of you received your 1098 for 2005? We haven't gotten one. Is this because we don't have a loan through Disney, or would we get one either way? Thanks!
If you don't have a mortgage through DVC you will not receive a 1099 tax statement. These report mortgage interest. If you are looking for the amount you paid in property tax, you can get that on your dues statement or online.

I guess we misunderstood. We thought that a portion of the dues paid for mortgage interest and we could claim a portion of that since we are part-owners of the DVC resort. I guess that is incorrect?
Possibly. Depends on how you financed. If you financed through Disney or used a home equity line then yes. And Disney does provide a 1098 for interest paid to them.
If you used any other type of financing, then no.
Dues and financing are two different things. Our annual dues cover real estate taxes (possibly deductible), insurance, maintenance, etc. Financing is how you bought DVC (did you finance through Disney, home equity loan or some other type of loan).
