I never said they are doing this out of the goodness of their hearts!!! I have had problems with them too, and better guest service is needed, but I don't think we should keep blaming the staff for our every little problem, in VMK. I think this problem can't really be solved it's just a bit of bad luck! And by the way do you have any idea how much work it takes to run an online game like VMK. I am not sure you should ask yavn because although he helped build the game, I am not sure he could help with this........but I might be wrong! P.S. One more thing if the staff are here, that may be why recently they have started banning people who say dis, they might be mad at us for always putting them down! (Just a thought!)

All games can cause headaches when things are not going your way. (for instance I am a Raiders fan LOL you can imagine my disappointment!) but you cant let it get to you.
Ha Ha funny.I am a Jets fan and you can feel my dissappointment too. First of all the team was horrible this year.The coach that got us to the playoffs every year except for two leaves.We get a horrible draft pick for him also.And since we have that crappy draft pick we can get almighty REGGIE BUSH.

So you atleast have a good wide reciever and have a decent QB.We used to have Santana Moss and we traded him for LC who was horrible.only good player was ty law.and we were at our 5th string QB.can i make it clearer.lol.jk.sorry or posting something off topic.

Girlfriend you are the best! And my tummy still hurts! Who cares that I only got 10 points that game, it was the best game yet. Same time, same channel tonight? LOL

Seriously though, from my experience, i have had excellent response and in a timely manner from vmk anytime I have had to contact them. My daughter had her ears stolen by someone and within hours I received an email from them and the next day I received another stating they were returned. Logged in to check and sure enough they were.

I think we all need to realize that this game has not even been out for a year. They are working out kinks every day. every event gets better, sales of items are increasing, they are definitely working to improve our fun at every turn. Take a look at the visitor count every time you log in. Back in beta and a few months after public release, you were hard pressed to see 1000 people in vmk at any given time. Log on at 10:00 pm EST now. I never see less than 2800 people....and that isnt counting all the mules that are out there and the off line accounts. How hard do you think it is to handle that many complaints, questions, etc on a daily basis? Its a customer support nightmare! Give VMK time to find themselves. They have one heck of a product and it is only getting better.

Yes I was disappointed there was no tour when I went. Still got the cruise cards though. No haunted cards but it was ok. I got something. I also didnt get to ride Everest, missed it by a couple hours one day. Thats ok though, Im not going to call disney and complain. No point in it. They surely aren't going to send me airfare and tickets and hotel reservations just so I can ride it. Its luck of the draw. The tour was cancelled. Your trip also could have been cancelled if it was the only reason you went.

Here is my suggestion, contact VMK via a mule. Create a mule who is a child. Contact them as the parent of the child. Write a very nice letter explaining that the code on your card does not work and can they please offer an idea on how to correct it. See what happens. If you have contacted them as many times as you say, they know who you are and apparently are not going to fix it. mayeb this will work.

My mom always told me, you catch more flies with honey....

I would have to agree with a lot of the other posters in particular Irish. I don't trade and only play the games so that I can gift others. My main reason for logging on is to meet up with my new friends from across the ocean. I have met some wonderful people on VMK and Dis. It is so nice to see a community of people that really care for each other whilst we are living in a world like this today. There is no language barrier (other than dictionary dances) or issues with race. Young and old can interact together, so even if I couldn't play anymore games on VMK it wouldn't really bother me, all I ask is to be able to speak to those that I am lucky enough to call my friends.

Generally speaking, I have to agree with Puck and aengus that the letter is self-defeating because of its tone and wording.




Look, I just stated the many problems I was having. You can believe them or not, that is up to you but I'm telling the truth.

But it still doesn't excuse VMK from not answering the many emails that I and many other people have sent in over the months about problems we are having in the game.

Do they like come on as different ppl sometimes? Because the last time i was on everyone was like "OMG, Yavn is here!! Yavn is here!!" and i was like " OMG where where?? I can't see him!! Where is he?? Am i blind?? Where where??" It truely was not an intelligent moment.
 
in Cat's defense, I'd like to vote that this thread be deleted entirely, mainly because of the completely edited first post. That's an action of regret, and I'd like to see her get over this mess asap.

Cat, in my own experience with Gold Ears, i had purchased a pair in epcot and had found out the codes were in MK. I then had a Mouse Gears manager phone over to MK and she was nice enough to write down a code for me, and of course when i got home, it didn't work.

Once i was able to be on a direct line to MK's hat shop (was not easy), i simply put good ol' Mom on the phone and she explained she had a bolistic "child" over here going bonkers over the hat. It worked, and my similiar problem was solved, though it took much effort to even get connected within MK.
 
Thank you Ranch for your kindness. We had been planning another day trip to WDW next week for my birthday and I was planning to take in the one card that didn't work and see if they would do something about it.

I still have 1 unused gold ear card that I have never even tried to use because I wanted to clear up the first one first so that in case the second one didn't work as well there would not be any confusion between the first one and the second one. I truly thought that 2 months would be plenty of time to clear up any problems but of course this has not happened. Now I'm not sure that I want to go to the park and spend more money on the effort to clear up the problem.

In the last 3 weeks I have spent less and less time in VMK anyway just trying to avoid the frustrations of the game. I'm just getting tried of sitting here crying in frustration and literally begging the computer to just "Please let me in".
 
hey cat, for all its worth I think that showed alot of class. I have a set of gold ears that I would be more than happy to gift to you.

If we go it will be Monday, my actual birthday. Odd I know to go on the actual day.

Please do not take this the wrong way or as a "flaming" or "bashing" of any kind, but quite honestly if you are crying over an online computer game it is definitely time to take a break. Life is more important than graphics on a computer screen and life should not be overrided by something of that nature. It sounds as if VMK is taking over a bit, IMHO. :confused3

Likewise, I have seen posts stating that the alleged "automatic replies" from VMK's site are not good enough. Now, complaints that something has to be sent. With the amount of emails going into the site about mostly frivolous situations, you cannot expect them to personally sit down and write you a response *PLUS* keep the game up and running. It is just not going to happen. It is a free online game and the staffing required to do that would be tremendous. Most bigtime corporation websites do not even do that. :confused3

I have had the same discussion with younger players a countless number of times. VMK is not the real world, it is a game. If you have gold ears or 1000000 credits it will not make a big difference in one's life. If you are so incredibly frustrated about the game and how it is being run, then why play it? Click on the DIS instead. :goodvibes

Bottom line, if VMK is making you angry, upset, or so sad to the point of tears, it may be time for a break. Getting more graphics on a game or virtual credits is just not worth it. :(
 
To each their own yo, she has human right to express herself and it should be respected, not ridiculed.

Saying that she's "crying" makes your entire post a contradiction being that you opened it as, "not trying to flame".

It's the the beauty of the boards, to say what you want (in a disney G-rated manner), minus some primitive dictionary, and to have people say, "Hey girl, I understand".

Now.. back to the complaining! JK!! :thumbsup2
 
geez people lighten up.... she was venting. She loves VMK and it sucks that it doesnt work for her. Sure it is just a game, but it a heck of a fun one. ANd when you read over and over about all these cool things and then because of finicky programing a lot of it doesnt run on a bunch of computers... both Mac and PC.

VMK may need a phone in support line to figure out why the PC systems that for all purposes SHOULD work, are not working.... Mac users... well... Mac is great isnt it, Loved my for years, but jumped over 4 years ago and havent looked back. (I know, not an option for all of you, and I agree VMK and others should be more on the ball about Mac software)

Anyway.... Cat..... Hang in there. Keep plugging away, and hoprfully someday you will be able to play everything.

Oh and I second closing this thread. Nothing more can be gain from it.
