So after trying to do research (and I actually collected quite a lot of info thanks everyone!) I still couldn’t find details on a theme park wedding at DL.

So I caved in and called DFTW to ask. Right off the bat she tells me that to have a wedding in the theme parks it is going to start at a minimum of...

100k! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

I came to tears in my car (I was on my lunch break for the call) and just sat and cried!

:sad1:

They said someone will call me back with more details because no one was available but there is no way I can do this. My heart is so broken!

I mean at least I can do one at MK in the wishes collection for a fraction of the cost. Its just such a hassle for everyone to travel!!!

Sorry just thought I would vent on here. I am so upset :( This is such an inconvenience.

I dont know what to do now

Technically, it's $75,000 for Disneyland, although I know that doesn't really help. Also, you can have an event in California Adventure for more like $20,000 or $30,000.

The same thing happened to me when I was planning our wedding and called to ask about getting married in New Orleans Square. They must get sick of lookyloos calling to ask about the price of a Disneyland wedding, because the receptionist shut me down with the same line. And it made me cry too! :sad2:

However, it also made me realize what a screamin' deal park weddings are at Walt Disney World. I mean, you can get married in the Magic Kingdom for $10,000! Epcot, $2,000! It's a shame that the parks in California can't accommodate smaller groups at lower prices, but they just weren't built to hold special events the way the Florida parks were.

They just emailed me that PDF that says its 75k and 170/person for the reception. It does include alot but still, that's still crazy. Its beautiful but for the price there are too many restrictions. If I am handing out that kinda cash I better get everything my heart desires ya know!

I feel ya, I'm appreciating WDW weddings now! Guess thats the route I am headed to! That or possibly a ceremony off site and a reception at DL. I'll have to hit the books again :surfweb:

Your book is becoming my bible!!

I'm so sorry :(

just my little piece of advice: don't get too hung up on the thought that people won't travel for your wedding, you would be surprised at how many people will agree to come! I never thought as many people would agree to come as we have so far! People I thought would never make the trip actually are! We are 900 miles from WDW.... :goodvibes

I'm sure you will find a way to still have the wedding of your dreams!

Ok wait, now I am confused. They just sent me a morning wedding PDF for 25k for the ceremony and that included ALOT!

That is actually quite doable. Hmmm

That receptionist was so rude and snarky and was incorrect! Just trying to scare everyone away and make all those lurkyloos cry :(

Thank you so much! I think I can warm up to the traveling part. I am sure the parents with kids wouldnt mind either :) It could be worth it!!!

I found the receptionists to be very rude. I called asking for information about menus, and they told me "we don't do that." My husband asked if we could do a site visit and they told us no. :confused3: I had to call them three times to get someone to talk to me about having my wedding there. Once I got through to Joe, he was so helpful with everything.

They really need to do something about it - because its not very Disney magical!!!

They are probably all old bitter women who are around all these amazing weddings everyday yet can never get one themselves!

I agree, its not very magical nor does it feel very welcoming! If youre gunna spend that kinda cash they should at least be accomedating!!!

You can still have an awesome DL wedding without it being in the parks- there are so many things that you can add onto your wedding to make it magical. If you are willing to put the time into it, it can be great!

We had our wedding at the Disneyland Hotel in January: http://vimeo.com/22319835 :thumbsup2

I agree cast members should be polite and accommodating.
But most cast members are extremely underpaid and do not see a dime of anything your spending no matter how much it is. They don't make the prices, they just deliver the bad news.
Not your problem I know, but still...

Thank you for the video! Beautiful wedding. And you are very right! Thanks for the nice words :wizard:

Yeah thats a good point, dont think too much of that. But still, theyre getting paid to be apart of the "fairytale"

As Safflower said, there are many beautiful locations within the DLR for weddings. The rose garden is beautiful and we are having our reception at a Grand Californian ballroom. The next day, we are inviting our family to spend a day at Disneyland with us. So we will still be in the park with our families and have those memories. There are still lots of options for Disney weddings for those of us who don't have bottomless wallets! :wizard:
