The centennial anniversary of flight, December 17, 1903, the Wright brothers plane took flight. Short, but it flew, powered flight. So, next time you are at 35,000, recall we were only at a few feet just 100 short years ago.

We've had a wonderful series of articles on the history of the flight leading up to today's centennial in the Charlotte Observer. How amazing that less that 100 years after a bicycle chain engine was mounted to muslin wings we all have access to flight!
