I am trying to make sweatshirts four December trip. I am pricing sweatshirts as I need 15 of them and 3 children's sizes.

I am having a hard time finding 100% cotton white sweatshirts for a cost under $10 a piece. I can get 50/50 for half that.

Is it really going to make a difference in the material?

Also do I understand that if I use color transfer paper on a white shirt that I might get better colors and a matte finish and I do not need to reverse the pattern before printing it?

If I use light or white transfer paper then I need to reverse the pattern before I print it?

First off, have you tried and looked at jiffyshirts.com? Their shirts are great, all of them.I can honestly say, none of my sweatshirts are 100% cotton..and very few of the tee shirts I made are either. And I have had good luck. Plus, their prices are great!! Yes, you will need to reverse the design if you use white/light transfers..

I looked at jiffyshirts and I can find sweatshirts that are 50/50 that are reasonably priced. When I look for 100% cotton they are few and far between, they are extra heavy weight and they are normally twice the price.

If the 50/50 will work fine then I will get them but if it is really important that the shirts be 100% cotton then I am frustrated at where to find some that a a normal weight and lower price.

Thanks for telling me that you have had good luck using non 100% cotton shirts. You give me hope!:goodvibes

When using white shirts do you use dark transfer paper?:confused3 Can you really see a difference?

I would check shirtsupplier.com as well. That being said, however, I have made TEE shirts using 50/50 and they turned out ok. (You may need to adjust the iron accordingly, though.) Why not just buy one 50/50 sweatshirt and try it and if it is acceptable then you could buy the rest? ...... just a thought.

Thanks for the ideas and encouragement. I think I will do that.
