$100--One Restaurant--Where to Go???

Ok, here's the deal. My aunt gives us near $100 in Disney Dollars for Xmas every year. In year's past, we have had annual passes so have just used them for misc things/snacks in the park. But no passes this year:-(

We've also used them at them at the Disney Store but my kids are getting a little too old ( 6 and 9) for that stuff and don't really want to use it there.

So we're thinking about using the $$ to have a meal at a Disney restaurant, browsing DTD, maybe seeing a movie (were in Tampa so just a day trip).

If you could only do one restaurant on property (not ness. DTD), which would you choose???

We've only done one Character Meal (Crystal Palace a couple years ago) so were originally thinking CM breakfast but have read some bad reviews??

We're open for anything but would like it to also be fun since it is a famiy day.

Really love the California Grill, but it is expensive. I also like Ohana's alot and it would be fun for your kids.

1900 Park Fare was good. We enjoyed the food and the character interaction was great with Cinderella and her stepsisters and stepmother. We also loved Chefs De France.

California Grill will come out a little higher than $100, but it's so worth it. For the view alone, but the food is good as well.

If you want to stay under $100, Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD is really good. The kid's pizza is probably one of the best things on the menu and the creme brulee (and I'm an avid baker, so I'm picky) is really, really good.

Not sure WPE would take Disney Dollars as it is not a Disney restaurant. I know in the past you could tranform back to cash with Disney $, not sure if that is still the case.

I never can figure out CM getting bad reviews, but I do understand difference in opinions. We ate at Cali Grill in novermber and were disapointed. The view is worth it, but the food everywhere else we ate was better. WPE was amazing, I imagine WP is too. We ate at WPE twice and would have more if we had the time.
We have eaten at Chef Mickey's on every single one of our trips, it is the only restaurant we have. We eat there twice every trip, one dinner and one breakfast. While we like breakfast a bit better, both are great and the good thing is you feel like yo uhave been to Disney without going into the parks.
Side note...I have DDs 6 and 9 too, and they LOVE the Disney Store! Our all closed and my girls literally cried!

I would do Boma at AKL. It's very different, IMO, the best buffet on property. The hotel is gorgeous and a nice place to just visit and browse around plus the food would be something I'd want to try at least once.

I'll second Boma, though it may put you over the $100 mark.

To definitely stay under the $100 mark for 2 adults and 2 kids without discounts, there really is only one choice: Trails End Buffeteria at the Ft. Wilderness Campground.

Trails End is a simple, western-themed, down-home buffet, with simple American-style food. The food is great, the cast is great, and the atmosphere is relaxed and informal, perfect for a family with a 6 and 9 year old. It's also the cheapest buffet on Disney property, at $18.99/$10.99 for dinner, and the location, at Ft Wilderness, is convenient to the MK area.

Since you're not going into the parks, you might consider springing the $12 to park at the MK lot and ride the monorails around as part of your day. Take the Resorts monorail to Poly, GF, and Contemp, and take the Epcot monorail around the loop; try to get into the front car of the monorail, your kids will love the experience. You can also take a resort launch, either from Contemporary or from MK, to get to Ft Wilderness; if your kids like boats, these are some of the best at WDW.

DH and I actually have tried Boma! I liked it but we had horrible service Not sure what the kids would think. And we've also done Trails End.

We don't have to stay exactly on the $100 mark but not too much over

I would do Ohana's or even Kona Cafe.
We also like Spoodles at the Boardwalk.

If you want to do Chef M's do it. It's pretty tough to screw up breakfast. We have eaten there and it was fine.

What about Cape May Cafe? You can do a character breakfast or the dinner is great too. Another fun place is Whispering Canyon Cafe.

WCC or Hoop De Doo Review might be fun. Ohanas is alway fun for kids with the coconut races and parades.
