I became a moderator on the boards. They were a bit different back then
Michelle and I were the first "co-moderators" on the boards (back then every board had only 1 moderator) and we started the new Disney Cruise line board.
It's been quite the ride! Thanks to everyone, this place would not be what it is without all of you!

Congratulations! That's awesome. I love these boards SO much! It's really a wonderful service to the Disney-loving community. And I think these boards are beautifully and fairly moderated. Kudos to you.

Congrats! Just curious--how have things changed?

It was a totally different world! A lot of us read every post on every board pretty much every day. Most of the moderators and Pete would hang out in the chat rooms in the evening. This was before Dreams so things were much slower. All of wdwinfo.com and the boards ran on one server. I still have an email from Pete going back and forth over whether we should pay extra for a second CPU for our 1 server. If you look at a core as the equivelant of one old style CPU we now have 32 cores and 9 servers

Wow! Happy Anniversary!

I first came here 10 years ago for that very DCL Board, when the AOL one shut down!! I was super invloved on that one and kept track of when everyone was sailing so we could have meet ups!

I was bummed to lose that board but soooo glad I found the DIS as a result.

Thanks for all you do!! I know it's not the easiest job in the world! LOL!

ahhhh yes the good ole days when you could easily read all the posts!! Everyone knew when everyone else had their trips planned and even then tried to set up mini meets.
