I will definately not be going on Space Mountain or Splash Mountain, but what about Big Thunder Mt. Railroad? I haven't been to WDW since I was 14, so I can't really remember how wild or tame this ride is.

I'd appreciate any feedback! Thanks!

Going on our FIRST vacation to WDW in 1 week!!!!! :cool1:

I think I read a disclaimer in one of the guide books saying BTMR is one of the rides to be avoided while pregnant...

Even if it isn't an official rule though, why take a chance?

Check with dr. If dr oks it I would go if not a high risk pregancy. I rode rides with both mine and now they are thrill junkies. Just follow the advice of your dr. I can't see why this one would be bad for you. It isn't that bumpy.

My drs were pretty laid back and they told me to do whatever I was comfortable with. Even rode teacups with 2 year old when I was almost due! That was a picture getting my baby belly in there! But worth the memories!

There are reasons not to ride things like splash later in pregnancy and I know I have seen the reasons posted online. Enjoy your trip!

I'd never do it. Just imagine if something happened- you'd feel horribly foolish! BUT I did read that going on some rides before the baby is actually in the abdomine (sp?) is okay. So at 10 wks, your little peanut is still low enough that he/she in theory should be okay. But like I said, I certainly wouldn't.

okay- I did it pregnant (early on) and got very motion sick. Baby was fine but it had been a few years since I had been on it and forgot how much you get "thrown around" in the cars and the hards stops it makes.

I felt pretty foolish for doing it and I worried about my little guy in utero for the rest of the trip.

I rode every roller coaster there was at Six Flags when I was pregnant with my 2nd (had no idea she was in there yet! ) BUT if something had happened I would have blamed myself. I was so worried after I found out I was pregnant that I would miscarry and it would be my fault. Probably very little danger involved, but you would carry such a burden if anything happened. :sad2:

Have fun on your trip! This is when the "sleepiness" starts to set in so try to schedule the momma nap every afternoon! :goodvibes

i rode at 9 weeks and 11.......everything was fine. I saw a woman get off of SM & she was 5 1/5 months along. I spoke to a friend who is an ob & he said that really, MS, ToT & RnR were the ones to avoid. SM & BTMR are really tame...goofy too.

BTMRR is very bumpy and not worth the risk to your baby. I went to WDW when I was 4 months pregnant and was miserable staying off the rides I loved while my family rode them. Despite being careful, I ended up on a couple of waterslides at Typhoon Lagoon that were very bumpy but I didn't know that until I was already on them. A couple of weeks after I got home, I started having problems in my pregnancy and ended up on bedrest. I felt like I had caused the problem even though my doctor assured me that I most likely didn't. I'm sure you would be fine, but take it from me, it is not worth the guilt if something bad does happen. As you can see by my ticker, I have a healthy baby boy now and everything worked out fine :goodvibes

There are two reasons why pregnant women (2 weeks-9 months aren't supposed to ride certain rides: Risk of miscarriage/premature delivery & possibly brain damage--heck, that's when the brain is developing.

BTMR is a prgnancvy restricted ride. It is a rollercoaster. Very mild compared to most, but a rollercoaster.

I won't be risking it.

I would never do it............that is just my opinion..........not worth the chance..........but in the end it is up to you! :confused3

No way!!! I lost 2 pregnancies (one at 5 weeks and one at 11 weeks) and would never ever consider it! The guilt you would feel if something were to happen would be aweful. When I got PG with my last child, I took all the precautions to heart at Disney. It may mean a bit less fun for you, but in the long run, it will be well worth the sacrifice.

Check with your doctor. I did the Disney marathon when I was about that far along. My doctor was fine with it and said I could ride the rides too. I didn't do any of the rides because I got sick too easily with that pregnancy.

Honestly I don't think Splash Mountain is that bad at all and can't imagine why it would be pregnancy restricted. It is one hill at the end and it doesn't have that "stomach feel" to it. It is a fun ride, don't get me wrong but not a thrill ride to be avoided, IMO.

I literally just came back from WDW and we have been trying to conceive #2. There is a good chance I could be very early on. I went on everything but Space Mountain and ToT and RRC but that is just me. My OB said I would be fine no matter what but she has always been laid back.

I guess it is ultimately your decision and if you have any motion or stomache sickness, I would avoid it. Thundermountain is more noisy and creeky than bumpy and jolting but it is one that I may avoid. Your 4 yr old dd can go on with DH while you and 2 yr old ds do something else as I am sure he won't be tall enough to go on it anyway.

What I think you could do no problem is Goofy's Barnstormer - that ride is fun and not bumpy at all - my 3 yr old dd loved it!!! Soarin at Epcot was a great one too that you should not miss. I probably wouldn't do Mission Space or Dinosaur either and I did not try Test Track (dd thought it was too moisy) so I can't comment on that.

I would never risk any thrill ride while I was pregnant! They have warnings for a reason!

Thrill rides will be there forever. You only have 1 chance to get your pregnancy right!

Baby is much more important then a rollar coaster!

Follow the warnings & stay off the thrill rides while pregnant!

I went to Disney when I was 19 weeks pregnant with twins (wasn't supposed to travel after week 20). I did not do that ride, but I remember that at MK there was still quite a bit that I could do. I remember only being a bit bored at Epcot, b/c most of those rides I could not do, and I had to sit around and wait for my husband (I insisted that he go on them).

When I was at Animal Kingdom I did do the Safari ride (a little bumpy, but really not bad), but I did not do the water ride in India (I can't remember the name of that one). I was back there last week, and that water ride is no-big-deal.

Everything is up to you and your Dr. of course, but it's always better to be safe than sorry. I think you will still have fun, and it will be fun to tell your child....."what are you talking about, you've already been to Disney!!)" :teeth:

My input is that the goofy's barnstormer ride and BTMR are both jerky and bumpy. I was happy to get off them and i wasn't pregnant. If the sign says don't ride it ---don't. It's not worth it.
