For someone who hates hights and speed? I figured we could add another top 10 thread.

Well I would not ask the top 10. I would ask for the rides to avoid. Here's the 10 that I would avoid in this situation:

1. Maliboomer
2. California Screamin
3. Tower of Terror
4. Mulholland Madness
5. Sun Wheel
6. Splash Mountain
7. Matterhorn
8. Soarin? (gentle motion, not fast but high up)
9. Space Mountain
10. Big Thunder Mountain

Yep those ones would be good to avoid,

but other ones to avoid would be:
- Grizzley River Run as there is drops while your spinning fast,
- The orange Stinger
- Jumpin Jelly Fish
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
- Matterhorn Bobsleds

1) Small World
2) Mr. Toad
3) Peter Pan
4) Story boats
5) Alice
6) Teacups
7) Astro Blasters
8) Jungle Boats
9) Star Tours
10) Haunted Mansion

People say to stay away from Soarin if you're afraid of heights. But my mother is terrified of heights but loves this ride. I convinced her to try it because the movement is so gentle. She's very glad I did, it's her favorite ride now.

I will probley end up on one or two I dont want to. Ive got a very presistant sister.

I am afraid of heights (majorly-won't even get close to a railing if its too high) but I love TOT and Soarin'. TOT doesn't bother me because it is mostly enclosed whereas Maliboomer (practically same idea) terrifies me because it is open and my legs are dangling. Mullholland Madness terrifies me also. I rode it with my eyes closed. I would avoid TOT if you don't like speeds also though. But try Soarin' it is amazing and does not bring out my fear of heights.

Soarin absolutely brought out my fear of heights, my hands started to sweat so much I felt I couldn't hold on (and I was first seat, first row). But, then my sweet DH said very calmly, just look up to where you can see the ceiling line to remind yourself you are simply sitting in a room. Once I was able to do this, I began to relax and it ended up being one of my favorite rides. It really is breathtaking and certainly the closest I will ever come to hangliding!

Thunder Mountain Railroad never bothered me at all, it's one of my favs. I was so panicked I barely remember Splash Mountain (except once again, I ended up being in the first seat - but I survived). I'm going back in July and DD is trying to convince me to do Space Mountain and TOT.

Thanks for bringing this subject up. I'd love to hear about other height fearers reactions to these rides.

I'm so much more a "dark ride" person than an adventurer; but this trip I went with DD who is 20 so we compromised. I had great fun on many rides I did not think I could tolerate: California Screamin, Maliboomer and my favorite Tower of Terror!!! Imagine my surprise when the Orange Stinger made me so dizzy I had to go back to my room! I felt like an idiot....

I suggest: Soarin', Grizzley River Rapids, Pirates, Indiana Jones, Buzz Light-Year, Peter Pan, and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride(even though that's not ten), but they're not nessecarily in that order.....
