10-Oct-2009 - Eastern Magic St. Croix

I officially just paid for the cruise...and then I booked some excursions. I can't wait to be on a boat too!!!

So is anyone else getting weather jitters?? We bought the trip insurance but this has been such a mild hurricane season and this cruise is falling together to well and seeming too good to be true that I'm getting nervous. Maybe that's just the pessimist in me that I suspect a week on a Disney boat will cure! Or am I not allowed to say these thing?!?!?!?! Alright, back to work...

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to this, so I hope I'm doing this correctly... We're sailing on 10/10/2009 as well, and are very excited about it!!! Our family consists of me (47), DH (47) and DD (8). We've sailed on the 4 night cruises on the Wonder twice in the past few years, and decided that 4 nights just isn't long enough. We picked St. Croix as our destination, and I'm a little apprehensive about it because I haven't been able to find very much feedback about the excursions and activities on the island.

I'd be really interested to know what everyone else is planning to do if you don't mind sharing! I read some positive comments about the Carambola Beach Day on another forum.

I'm looking forward to setting sail with all of you!

Welcome! I was unsure about St. Croix too. I booked for snorkeling cause I'm from Florida and go to the beach enough already. I look forward to meeting you and your family!

There was a weather disturbance when we sailed last time. It was very stressful watching the weather and anticipating trouble. I'm gonna try to remain calm this time.

Welcome!!! Planning to do where? St. Croix?

Wow, you're really jumping in to the swing of things!! Now you need to start making door signs!

We haven't booked yet but I think we are planning 1 day of scuba diving and the other day to do an island tour. Figure we can do snorkling/beach at Castaway (plus we live in So. Cal and can do the beach here, although not a warm beach) ! Still researching which island we want to do which on; I welcome input. It looks like the divign is a little better at St. Croix but I'm really intrigued by the rum factory tour there so it might be a better island trip.

Getting excited!!
Kelly

I was totally thinking about the rum tour after our snorkeling. Take the DS back to the ship and have an adult break. As for weather, I live in Florida, it rains every day. I learned to go with the flow and make the best out of every situation. So no matter what happens. we're going to have a great cruise in
:dance3:39 DAYS!!!:dance3:

And I have also started working on my room sign, I think my pug is gonna end up there since he's getting left at home, lol.

so since bluecasbah is doing all the speaking for the family all i am going to say is...39 days....yay!

Only 39 more days! Myself (28) and my husband (30) will be setting sail on the Magic on October 10th.

This is our 4th cruise, but first on Disney and the Eastern Caribbean. We picked this cruise because it goes to St Croix. One of our best friends lives on the island so they have agreed to pick us up at the dock and provide a full day of entertainment.

OK, I can't decide on excursions. This is hard work!:surfweb: Anyone have any input?

First off, 39 days? Wow!

We are doing the Doubloon Snorkle in St. Thomas.

In St. Croix we are undecided. We are thinking of taking a taxi to a nearby beach like Rainbow Beach and doing our own thing. We booked Caramba Beach Resort..sounds great...but way overpriced. Planning to cancel the excursion but haven't yet.

A few posts back, probably at the 90 day mark, you'll find posts about excursions. Many of us seem to be previous sailers so our stuff was booked a couple of months ago. One thing I do suggest is you try to get Palo ressies! That is a "do not miss" in my book!

I've done palo and I'm gonna run over to book when I get onboard. I wanted to do the doubloon snorkel in St. Thomas but it is already full. :confused3 I'm gonna look back at the older posts. Thanks guys.

You may want to go ahead & book Palo online...last time I checked times were starting to book out. Same for spa.:goodvibes Plus then you're not making the mad dash once on board, relax a bit more:thumbsup2

FYI Palo on line is already totally booked. I tried booking a week & a half ago when I booked my cruise & it was already full. I guess I'll have to try to get it done on board.

Kelly we'll be in line together, lol. Is it too late for the gift exchanges and stuff. I know I'm a little late at booking and getting on here. If it is at all possible I would love to. If it's too late, no worries either. I can't think about anything but the cruise. This is gonna be a long month waiting, lol.

:rotfl: Long month!! :rotfl: I booked this cruise in January 2008. It's been a very long time waiting for it. It feels like this last month is going to fly by!:yay::woohoo::dance3:

Can't believe it is 38 days!! WAHOO!

I asked before and so did someone else, but when are we going to do a final cut off and list for the FE exchanges and Secret Mickeys? I need to get my stuff together and knowing the final numbers would really help!

See you guys soon!
