10-Oct-2009 - Eastern Magic St. Croix

Maybe so to the horse back riding. Tempting, Tempting. We'll have to make a budget. It does sound GREAT and it would be fun to know someone and them to have kids.

We live in Fort Worth, TX but very familiar with Tx Tech. What are they...the Raiders? Two of my cousins went there.

The 4 year old is a boy (Nathaniel) but I imagine he'll love playing with your girls. His best friend at Pre-school is a little girl...I think it comes from having a big sister. He is a little gentleman.

I've booked Carambala beach Break through Disney as a place holder in St. Croix but think we'll cancel. So we'll either do the Horseback riding OR we may just take a taxi to one of the beaches (like Sand Castle prob) near port and be beach bums on the cheap.

Since we aren't snorkeling in St. Croix I'm going to go ahead and do the Doubloon Snorkel in St. Thomas with our 9 year old and with hubby and leave Nathaniel in Oceaneers Club for the morning. Then we'll retrieve him and have a family lunch and head back out with him in tow.

I love planning excursions!!!

Well in St. Croix were are doing horseback and then we will take a taxi to Cane Beach or Rainbow Beach, I was told taxi ride would be about $8.00 pp each way. I did some research and it seems WAY, WAY cheaper to do the beach days on your own.

In St. Thomas we plan on doing the beach bum thing and going to Magens Bay right now I have this booked through DCL but I think I am going to canx and just take a taxi....which is about $8.00 pp each way. After that I am up in the air and looking for suggestions.

We should try and meet up on the boat is would be nice to put a face with a name. Do you know if there is already a meet planned?:cheer2:

The more you guys talk about it :), the more I lean towards going back to Maagen's Bay. It really was peaceful and nice. And if you get there early enough, there aren't too many crowds!

In St. Croix, I'm leaning towards the Cruzan Rum place. Think DH and I will go St. Croix alone. We could always go back and get the kids if I feel comfortable on the island!

I was just thinking we don't have a meet planned. We should plan one!!

So does anyone have ideas for a meet....PLACE, TIME, DAY, I was reading on some of the other threads that you can request the private room in Palo for large parties....maybe we can see about sitting down and having high tea together. :grouphug:

Whoo Hooo! Finally got on to make our ressies! Our TA was supposed to run our CC for final payment Friday but didnt till today...grrrr. DH & I went with Friday night 9pm for Palo. Sadly, the Brunch was full by the time I was able to start booking! Do you think brunch ressies may open up on board?? I'd hate to not get in after hearing so much about it!
Penciled the DS in for the Wildside teen excursion on CC. He ought to like that...except for having to be there at the wee hour of 9am:rotfl2:
We are on the 8:15 Dubloon tour in St. Thomas!:thumbsup2
St. Croix will be a day for bummin around. I dont think we're going to book anything.
Does anyone know about the Tea & Storytime with Belle/Alice? Do you book it ahead or once onboard?

We are on the Dubloon too. Have heard great things and love to snorkel.

We are going to do our own thing in St. Croix too. I think we'll stay near port in St. Croix and either do the horse back riding or maybe Sand Castles beach or another close by beach.

Never done tea with Belle. Have done Tea with Wendy and Tea with Alice. Very cute. You go to guest services and ask for tickets. Go by 1st or 2nd day so they don't run out. No charge.

I am new to this thread but had a question hope you all can advise... wife and I booked Palo Dinner and all the excursions but did not have option to choose a Palo Brunch. We're assuming that's because all available times are already reserved.

Will we have the option to book a Palo Brunch onboard or is it truly not available? We were hoping to get a brunch on Thursday, 10/15 for the two of us.

Thanks for any advice. Can't wait for our trip, hope we'll see you onboard.:thumbsup2

As I understand it, DCL makes about 50% of the Palo ressies available online, reserving the other 50% for people to book once onboard. If you want brunch, just plan to get to the port as soon as possible on October 10th and once onboard, rush to Rockin Bar D to book Palo. I did this for our last cruise and had no problems getting brunch! :thumbsup2

Cool  Thanks. We actually fly in the night before so we should have no problem getting there early. We can't wait to go. Anyone else doing brunch on Thursday morning...that's what we're trying to get?

See you all onboard.

Breezed through the previous 60+ pages but wasn't sure if anyone had heard or posted which days will be the various theme nights (formal, semi, pirate, etc). Anyone heard anything?

Sorry for all the questions...just had one other for all the DVC Members. This is first cruise booked through DVC. We didn't received out packet from CruiseLine with baggage tags, etc. Will that come later??? :confused3

Thanks

I am not promising anything, but after looking at old Navigators this is what I came up with:

Saturday: Cruise Casual
Sunday: Formal Night, Golden Mickey's
Monday: Cruise Casual
Tuesday: St. Thomas, Pirates in the Caribbean
Wednesday: St. Croix, Cruise Casual
Thursday: Captain's Gala, Semi-Formal
Friday: Castaway Cay, Til We Meet Again Dinner

As for the bag tags, I don't know about DVC members, but on all of the DCL cruises we have done in the past, we have gotten the bag tags a few weeks before we left, so I think you still have time.

HELLO fellow DVC members. We are also on this cruise and we have cruised in the past using DVC. The cruise papers and luggage tags will be recieved about a month or so before the cruise.....NO WORRIES you will be well taken care of. We are also flying in the night before the cruise and staying at one of our home resorts Animal Kingdom Kidani........Where are you staying?

I found this board to be really great with trip advise so WELCOME and if you have any questions ask away. Alot of us here including myself have a bit of OCD when it comes to planning and research. :cheer2:

Thanks for the info...I was stressing that I missed the package with the bag tags and all that. Guess I'm just early.

We aren't staying at the park prior to the cruise because we won't get there til late on Friday. So, we opted to spend the night at the Hyatt Orlando (at airport). This way we can just hop the bus to the port from there. And, now I have to make sure we get there early because we weren't early enough to get those Palo Brunch reservations we wanted.

See ya, thanks again.

MY OCDVD is kicking in. (DV= Disney Vacation).....need help someone must take computer away from me....LOL

Guess I'm going to need to order our MNSSHP tickets soon!! I have never been to the World and neither has DD. I'm getting pretty excited about our cruise. So much so that I'm having a hard time concentrating on this last I have to complete before our vacation. I need to concentrate. Do you think they make pills for OCDVD??

NO there is no cure for OCDVD.
OMG you have never been to WDW...CRAZY, you will love it. Is this your first cruise? What night are you thinking of doing MNSSHP? We are arriving the day before the cruise so that night we are going to MNSSHP, it should be fun. This will be our first time doing MNSSHP at WDW, we do it every year here at Disneyland California park and my girls LOVE it, we are all so excited.

Are you sure we are going to St. Thomas before St. Croix? You have the dinning sequence correct.

This is not our first cruise, it's our second. We had our first voyage in September 2007 and loved it. Can't wait to go back!

We are going to MNSSHP Friday night before the cruise. We fly in to Orlando Thursday night and will run some errands Friday morning (get water, some spirits for the cruise, and things like that) and then party at the World Friday night. :woohoo:

I believe St. Croix is our first port of call. Because the last time we cruised, Pirate Night was after St. Thomas but I remember realizing Pirate Night is after St. Croix. Or I might be confused - it's been known to happen!

Here's the excursions my wife and I booked:

St John Mini Boat - St Thomas
Parasail - Casataway

We've done the jetski at Castaway and it AWESOME. This time we're gonna try parasailing for the first time.
