10-Oct-2009 - Eastern Magic St. Croix

I was surprised that I couldn't book a table for 4 for the earliest Palo brunch on sunday even at the :03 tick of the clock. I switched to Monday instead and got it. I also booked palo dinner and excursions for all three ports. Done!

*yawn*

I cant get past the first page to reserve Palo. I enter the sitting I want then the guest, then continue and NOTHING.......I am directed back to the first page once again....WHAT is going on?

the system may be busy but I don't know. Keep trying!! Don't give up!

For some reason I thought this was tomorrow night. :confused3 I was laying in bed falling asleep and thought to myself...midnight on Sunday might mean NOW. Came to the board and sure enough...you guys had already booked your stuff. I've now hopped on and gotten our my first choices! :dance3:

We have Palo Brunch, Palo Dinner, Doubloon Snorkel (may cancel later) and Carab...Beach in St. Croix (may cancel later). Yeah! Oh, and a wellness massage for ME.

Makes it seem closer!!!!!

Is there an error message in red near the top? The time you picked may be full

IT's not even letting me get as far as picking a time, just lets me pick a sitting, brunch, high tea, dinner, then the number of people and when I scroll to the bottom for continue it just takes me in a big circle....WT heck???

Yes I am a paid in full castaway club member

Maybe it's your choice of web browser? Which one are you using? Internet Explorer worked perfectly for me.

How many people are you booking at the table? If it's two I have no idea, but if it's more, try booking two tables and link them later when you're onboard

That's awful. Have you already tried getting all the way out and then logging back in? And the web browser question is a good one. I've heard of it working floopy with Netscape and others.

How many Palo reservations can you make?
Will it let you make more then one dinner reservation?

The browser is likely the culprit. In the past I could not make any Palo reservations using anything but IE. With the newest version of Firefox I was able to do it this time though.

You can only make one advanced dinner reservation.

UGGHHH!!! I could not get in - error message says if linked to another party only one party can be logged in at a time. - I am not linked to anyone!!!! I can not get in - still this morning - can not get in. I have no Palo yet which means I will not have Palo again this cruise - this happened last year as well. It took Disney several days to fix it. I must be jinxed!!!

Can you call DCL and make the ressie with them?? You can't miss Palo!!

I booked a ride for the family with Paul and Jills Hourseback.....I was wondering did anyone else do the same? If you did what do you plan on doing after the ride. I was looking into going to hang out by the beach BUT which beach do I go to???? The stable guy suggested that I go to sprat Hall Beach which is just a short walk from them, he said there they have sunset grill where I can eat, drink and be merry!!!!

I was also thinking of taking a taxi to cane bay beach which is one of the beaches that the Disney Cruise line suggest.

LimoFam,

I've been going back and forth on what to do in St. Croix. We were considering Big Beard's strongly or Paul and Jill Horseback riding.

After reading up more on Big Beards I think it is just going to be TOO ROUGH for our 4 year old.

I was also very interested in Jack & Jills. Found them on Cruise Critic. However that article said they were $50 each person to ride. When I went on their webpage this morning it was $90! So to do this excursion for our family of 4 PLUS taxi would be about $400! This is before we add in money for chairs at the beach afterward, lunch at the gril, and the taxi ride back, and even small souveniers we are looking at $500. I think that is too rich for our blood.

If we did it we were planning to walk to Spratt Hall afterwards and enjoy the ocean and Sunset Grill as you mentioned. It sounds like a dream day...just a lot of money for us. Can you confirm if they charged $90?

Yes they do charge $90.00 per person......I have two girls ages 5 and 4 , and I chose the hourseback ride because Big Beards is more of a snorkle adventure, which my 4 and 5 year old will not be that in to. The hourseback just sounds like something we had to do so for the four of us it will be $360.00, with taxi maybe $400.00.

Yes, my kids are 9 and 4. I know they'd love the horse back riding.

I've crossed of Big Beard's due to the rough waters for the 4 year old.

It makes it tempting knowing there would be another family horse back riding with little kids. I was a bit worried I'd slow everyone down having kids.

But 90 times 4 plus roundtrip taxi plus lunch adds up. We'll see. It sounds amazing.

Yes give it some thought....the owners are so sweet over the phone and the guy said his wife Jill is the tour guide and that they get young riders all the time so the horses are VERY used to it. He said the horses are on auto pilot and that the kids and adults are just along for the ride.

Texas girl....where about in Texas are you from. I live in California but I went to Texas Tech.

Your 4 year old will be in the kids club with my girls...maybe they will make friends.

Maybe so to the horse back riding. Tempting, Tempting. We'll have to make a budget. It does sound GREAT and it would be fun to know someone and them to have kids.

We live in Fort Worth, TX but very familiar with Tx Tech. What are they...the Raiders? Two of my cousins went there.

The 4 year old is a boy (Nathaniel) but I imagine he'll love playing with your girls. His best friend at Pre-school is a little girl...I think it comes from having a big sister. He is a little gentleman.

I've booked Carambala beach Break through Disney as a place holder in St. Croix but think we'll cancel. So we'll either do the Horseback riding OR we may just take a taxi to one of the beaches (like Sand Castle prob) near port and be beach bums on the cheap.

Since we aren't snorkeling in St. Croix I'm going to go ahead and do the Doubloon Snorkel in St. Thomas with our 9 year old and with hubby and leave Nathaniel in Oceaneers Club for the morning. Then we'll retrieve him and have a family lunch and head back out with him in tow.

I love planning excursions!!!
