Are there any 2 bedroom villas that can accommodate 10 people plus an infant? I know the official occupancy for some 2 bedrooms is 9 people plus an infant. I've heard of people requesting to have an extra person in the room and that member services allows this but states they will not provide bedding. When I called today inquiring about this I was told the only 2 bedroom that can accommodate 10+1 is GFV (we were hoping for akv or bcv). Does anyone have experience otherwise? Is this something I should push with member services again or should I drop it? We have 6 adults, 4 children and an infant. I've heard of exceptions being made but not sure if policy changed.

Oh, and are you sure you heard them right? Did they say Grand Villa and not Grand Floridian? Because Grand Floridian won't hold 10+1 either. No 2 br will.

Yes, she specifically mentioned the Grand Floridian 2 bedroom lockoff due to the Murphy bed in the studio part. She said the VGF 2 br lockout will allow 11 people to be booked in the room. I asked if any other 2 br lockoff on property will work for a group our size but was told no. I know of people who have booked 10 people "legally" in the room with all guests registered. Not sure if it depends on the cm you get on the phone at member services.

Ah, I did not know they would actually allow you to actually book 10 like that.

Any lockoff where the studio has a Murphy bed should allow 10 (+1). That's VGF. Does VWL have lockoffs? And maybe BWV after renovations are complete.

How does that work? Doesn't the 1br side at BWV only sleep 4+infant? Is there a sleeper chair at BWV?

The lock off officially sleeps 10 at GFV In a two bedroom. We did for two nights...no issues...the infant could actiually sleep in the HUGE walk in closet in the master in a pack and play. We had 6 adults and 4 kids...

VGF 2BR lockoff. It will have 1 king bed, 1 queen sleeper sofa, 1 queen bed, 1 double sleeper sofa and 2 murphy beds. That is the only one that will have sleeping spots for the 10. Others may allow 10 to be booked but VGF is the only resort with a murphy bed in the 1BR so the only with 10 sleeping spots without bringing your own for 1 of the people.

There's no sleeper chair, but the occupancy allows for five people in a one bedroom if you supply your own bedding for the fifth person. The same goes for VWL. But, for some reason, they won't let you book the lockoff for 10 people.

What do you put the bedding on for the 5th? Chair? Rollaway? Other?

In this context, "bedding" means cot or air mattress. You put it on the floor.

Or, in the words of Homer and Jethro:
" I walked up to the room clerk. He looked at me and said,
"You can have a room, but you will have to make your bed."
I said, "That's OK, buddy. I learned that from my ma."
Then he reached out and handed me a hammer and a saw."

Ha, thanks!

That's why I say sleeping spots. I don't consider provide your own bedding to mean the bed too!

The only 2 bedroom that will book 10 +1 is the 2 bedroom lock-off at VGF and it is very hard to get one unless you are an owner- I know 1 person here on the boards stalked 1 for a month or so and then when it finally came available walked it to where she needed it for the family.

If others have allowed 10 it is not really 10 but 9 +1 infant- none of the others allow an actual booking of 10 people.

Thanks everyone! We're owners at vgf so booking shouldn't be that difficult if we decide to go with the vgf 2 br. As a thank you to my extended family for helping us through some rough times last year (I suffered a brain injury in a car accident and had to learn how to walk and speak properly all over again) we are letting them stay with us on our points before we leave on our cruise. We are staying a few nights at vgf already this summer so I don't mind if we stay somewhere else for that 1 night. Either we will choose the 2 br lockoff at vgf or a 2 br and a studio somewhere else on property. I have feeling my nephews will pick AKL :) thanks again!

Have you looked at a GV at OKW? It's about the same points as a 2BR at GF and provides much more space.
