I have a 10 inch Treva Fan. The stand folds back behind it. Is it too big? Will I be allowed to use it or will DCL take it?

From the DCL website:

the following items are restricted for safety reasons and should not be brought on board.

  • The following electrical appliances will be collected for inspection by the Chief Electrician and if approved, will be returned for use onboard the ship.
    • Baby Monitors
    • Humidifiers
    • Portable fans
    • White Noise/Sleep Machine

I've been watching videos about packing for DCL and so many people pack a fan. Darn.

The question is, do YOU need a fan?
The rooms have AC and heat. Unless you need something blowing on you or need it for white noise, it's just taking up space in your suitcase.
Just asking because videos and blogs sometimes overhype things people "must have" and they're not really musts.
Saw someone else asking about buying luggage tag holders-- which you don't need for DCL because they use the sticky luggage tags similar to airlines.
(and there's the weekly question about lugging water onboard)

Happy Cruising!

Yes, I like to sleep with a fan. Have for many years. Now it's hard not to sleep with it.
