10 Days in October: Argle-Bargle or Foofarah? UPDATED: POSTS #984 & 995!!!

Ok Brenda. I found a pic of the Duck Family Reunion swimming in the
BCV quiet pool...

I wish I took a photo of the duckpile under the lounge chair, but I did not.
Enjoy. :)

Er hello missy am waiting AND am almost out of corn popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn:: .....:rotfl2:

ps...Brenda love did the "one with the smacked ****" win anything in Vagas?....Have a great week dear "see" you friday....:)

Hey, I'm still with ya! I took a break for about a week, but I'm caught up now and gonna pop over and read your pretrip report for May! Thanks for making me laugh on this relaxed Sunday!

Coming soon - Day 6...EMH at the Animal Kingdom, a F&W Festival drive-by eating, a mini DIS-meet with two of the nicest English citizens we've ever met, Plankton sets his plans in motion, and dinner at Victoria & Albert's!!!

Waiting impatiently :yay: for the report on your meal at V&As as we have an ADR for dinner there during our adults only trip in July! I've read your report on this meal in your food report, but can't wait to hear about it all again!

Just dropping by to see if you had a new addition to your trippie, sadly, none :sad2:

But, I am VERY excited that baseball season has FINALLY started :woohoo: and I'm watching STL losing right now 5-1 to the Mets. Carpenter not looking so great. But it is the first game of the season and they did win the World Series last year so I guess I can give them a little slack ;)

Ok, I've lurked here long enough. Having just gotten through the Sweet Sunday episode, I must contribute.

Attention scone fans...Next time you do actually get to New Orleans, go to a PJ's coffee shop. They're everywhere and were my fave in college (I've been known to drive 45 minutes to get to the nearest one). Well, they have a fabulous raspberry and white chocolate scone. I don't even like raspberries and I love this!

Back to your regularly scheduled thread now...

Hi, Brenda! You've gotten me hooked over the past 3 days. Yours was only the second trip report I've ever read, and it sets the bar high for any others I might read! What a hilarious trip--I can't wait for the next installment!! (Yes, I know it's 6:30 in the a.m., but with this cold comes lack of sleep so :surfweb: and your trippie sounded good to me at 5:30!!)

 Unfortunately, don't know that one. :guilty:

How's this..."MMmmmmm...floorpie!"

mmmmmmmm.... 64 slices of american cheese.

Love the trippie. We were in San Antonio this past weekend at Sea World and I saw a guy that looks just like your husband wearing a "Crohns Walk 2006" T-Shirt. I looked around for you, but didn't see you.

Eeep, I stay away for a few days and I have to spend two hours catching up! Brenda, those ToT pics were priceless. And I can't wait to ride RnR! It was closed for refurbishment when we were there in January, as was Splash Mountain. :(

I'm so sorry your mom called you plain... you are not plain at all! You are lovely. One thing I have to say for my parents is they always boosted my self esteem. There is actually a family legend that when I was very young, my parents told me so frequently how beautiful and smart and talented I was that they created a monster. A complete stranger saw us in the grocery store and said "What a lovely little girl!" And I very calmly replied "I know."

Wow, I have gotten so behind on this tr! Sorry, I will try to catch up soon! I am still the president of your ever-growing fan club. Life has just been so crazy lately!!!

Hi Stacey - hope you're feeling ok! Thanks for sticking with me...let's see halfway done...five more days to talk about...that should be something like another 500 posts... at that rate no one will catch up! :lmao:

Some of the folks who went with us last year ate only at two places: the fish and chips stand in Britain, and the pretzel booth in Germany. They were like "this Food and Wine thing is GREAT!"

I was like *sigh*:sad2:

I hear ya! Grimace didn't even think it was all that great... no casino. ;)

Update please! Did you already report about your experience at Victoria and Albert's? California Grill? You are not allowed to have a life while I have a moment to catch up on your trippie (instead of playing baseball outside with Rob and the kids)......:rotfl:

Paige, I did talk about those dinners in my dining report. I think I will include V&A again here because it's such a unique experience, but the other restaurants I'll just link back to.

Lori thanks for sharing the duck picture! That's just too cute. :goodvibes

Grimace didn't win anything in Vegas on this trip and has come home Grimmer than ever, thanks for asking! I'll try to have an update by the time you get back.

Hey, I'm still with ya! I took a break for about a week, but I'm caught up now and gonna pop over and read your pretrip report for May! Thanks for making me laugh on this relaxed Sunday!

Thanks so much for sticking with us - I'm always glad to know someone's enjoying our mad mad travels. :thumbsup2

I'll try to get started on it this week. That's great news - I just know you're going to have a lovely time at V&A. :goodvibes

 Unfortunately, don't know that one. :guilty:

How's this..."MMmmmmm...floorpie!"

My quote came from the episode where Flanders opened the Leftorium and then failed. When Homer was happy about Ned's troubles Lisa asked him if he knew what schadenfreude was. Later in the episode Homer couldn't remember the word so he asked her about "that shameful joy thing."

And now, I have to admit that I don't recognize the floorpie. :scared:

Oh the shame!!!

Ahhh, the scars of our childhood... I know them well. You can add this to the list of our similarities, Brenda. In my case, my older sister was the 'beautiful & talented' one and I never measured up. Now that she's gone, it's even worse. :sad2: I hope you really don't believe that you're plain. Just look at you! I think you're gorgeous! I'd kill to have your body! (but you can keep the Chron's! )

The more I think about it the more I think you're right - our moms definitely need to get together. Michelle, you're so sweet - I've pretty much outgrown the plain issues (although I still have my days, but who doesn't?) thanks in part to Jay, who says Grimace has questionable taste. harhar!!

I was thinking the exact thing when I started to read this part - WHY would you want to get a Philly Cheesesteak in the MK? :confused3 You are a wonderful daughter for changing your ADRs for the Grimace! Don't worry, you'll make it back to Le Cellier. I just want to warn you though, try to do that ADR BEFORE California Grill or Jiko. Le Cellier doesn't quite measure up, if ya know what I mean. Don't get me wrong, I like Le Cellier, but it's not on par with some of the other restaurants that you guys are used to. Start with Le Cellier earlier in your trip and work your way up to the other restaurants. Savvy? pirate:

That's a great point about doing Le Cellier before Jiko or CG. I think we're going to save Le Cellier for October and shoot for a food and wine pairing.

Maybe your mom already has a voo-doo doll of you and you don't even know it! Do you ever wonder where all the new aches & pains come from so suddenly? Hmmmm...? And I wouldn't worry about the inheritance, by the time she's done gambling, there won't be any. Trust me. OK, Brenda & Crystal, you guys can send your moms out to Vegas to play with my mom. She knows the strip like the back of her hand! :rolleyes1 These days, you can find her 'working' her favorite machines in Green Valley. :sad2:

OK - we're arranging a permanent play-date, that's all there is to it! Inheritance...oh yeah that's funny...I'm not sure there's any now. ;)

I'm ready to read more TR! :surfweb:
-Michelle

Thanks as always for reading Michelle - happy to have you here!

No update yet, Jen, sorry. I'll try to get something going this week - it's kind of crazy for the next few....weeks...months...:scared:

That game totally honked last night, but thanks for cuttin' the guys a little slack. Carp. was definitely off his game. But like you, I'm happy to have baseball again!! :yay:

Thanks for de-lurking and thanks for the heads up on the scones. The last time we were in New Orleans we meant to stop at PJ's but we kept getting distracted by other things. Raspberry and white chocolate...where's the drool icon? ;)

The Bo-Bo episode!!! :thumbsup2

Glad to see you're still here Skippyman! We were not in Texas this weekend so I can only surmise that you must have seen Jay's less evil twin since he was participating in a charitable event. :lmao:

Eeep, I stay away for a few days and I have to spend two hours catching up! Brenda, those ToT pics were priceless. And I can't wait to ride RnR! It was closed for refurbishment when we were there in January, as was Splash Mountain. :(

Glad to have you back, animaldreams! You will love RnR - it's so much fun. And Splash Mountain, which Jason and I always call Mount Splashmore...

"It's too big to be human..." :lmao:

Thanks for the kind words, by the way. I'm going to let the Grimace know that she's been out-voted and needs to get an eye-exam. ;)

And your grocery store story...had me in tears at my desk this afternoon. I could just see it all in my head. That's just great! :lmao:

And now, I have to admit that I don't recognize the floorpie. :scared:

Oh the shame!!!

I'm afraid mine is just juvenile...not as cerebral as yours. :guilty:

Basically, he walks past a piece of pie that had fallen on the floor and says, "Mmmmm....floorpie!" :rotfl2: Juvenile....but funny!

"I've had enough of your Vasser bashing, young lady!"

Mount Splashmore... what a great episode. Back in the days when I was a nuclear engineering major, I couldn't wait to join the International Brotherhood of Jazz Dancers, Pastry Chefs and Nuclear Technicians.

Ok Brenda I know you have been on the DIS lately because I saw your posts over on zweilhund's pre-trippie! Stop helping her plan her budget cruise and get to writing! :surfweb: I will threaten you with no trippie from me come September!! :rotfl:

She can run but she cannot hide....... :rotfl:

Love love love your trip report! I just found it today and I have to admit that I've read it all in one go. Ok... I had to take a few breaks here and there, but I'm all caught up!

All in all my impressions so far are, your mother and mine are quite clearly related. Do you have any long lost Canadian cousins? Because I think that would be us. Secondly.... I really REALLY want a drink now... something sweet and highly alcoholic.

I've also learned that one needs to pack duck repellent for the resort pools as well as watch out for alligators in the lakes. Not really... I like ducks. Alligators, not so much. I'm just hoping those can't climb stairs. I'm a prairie girl. We don't HAVE alligators and this scares me.

Lastly (for now), I wish I could quote but I've already started this reply and I don't want to start over... but there was a photo a few pages back of R'n'R and the lady with the visor... She is CLEARLY shrieking "My EYES! My EYES!! I'm BLIND!!" Look at her right hand... that's shock!

omgosh I just read that Collette Peters is going to be at F&W Festival! :woohoo: I love her! I could possibly be heading down for a long weekend in October. Which days are you going to be there again???

EXCITEMENT - I love her!! Where did you find this information???

We're there 10/15 - 10/25...

Join us... ;)

BTW - everyone else...I will try to update tonight, If not tonight then tomorrow. There's just a lot going on and my brain needed a break. ;)

Thanks to all of you for reading - I know that I owe some of you more specific responses and I will do that this evening.

You guys are the best! :flower3:
