10 days and counting- Weather ????

What is the weather like in SoCal this time of year. Will we be able to wear shorts the whole time or will we need pants at night? Is it warm enough to swim?
Has your weather been typical this year? In NJ we have had strange weather all year and is NOT predictable at all. This week the high is 70's Last year at this time it was 90's.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to pack as little as possible as we are switching hotels 3 times in 2 weeks.

You should probably be able to wear shorts the whole time with a sweatshirt at night. It just depends on what you consider "cold". Maybe pack one pair of jeans "just in case". I don't see you needing any more than that.
Weather has been a little weird so far this summer. We are having the usual June Gloom but, it has been lasting really long this year. June Gloom is the marine layer (low clouds) that blanket the area. It's caused from cold air blowing off the Pacific that gets trapped underneath the warm air coming from the desert. Usually, it burns off by noon but, we've been getting really socked this year. We should probably be through with it by the time you get here. so anyways, just bring a sweatshirt or something lightweight. You'll probably need that. Then, a pair of jeans "just in case."

Weather this week (june 16-21) our highs will only be 72-74, around 63 at nite so very pleasant. Last week it was boiling hot. so I do not know what it will be when you are here--I would prepare for both..................

I would not think you would need much more than a light jacket and jeans besides your t-shirts and shorts. I would not pack too much--if you run out, you can always buy something--hahaha!

I agree. Our definition of cold in Southern California tends to be a bit different from most other people. LOL. I was there last night to check out Fantasmic (yay!) and I think the most likely way that someone will feel cold is if it's really warm during the day and they've been out in the sun all day. i.e. sometimes even if you're not sunburned, your skin is still hot and when it cools off, you feel colder for a while because your body is trying to adjust.

hey, my hubby surfs on Christmas Day so you can tell we never get super cold here--lol! altho' we are weather wimps so when it gets below 60 degrees, we bring out the winter wear!

OK so I will definately need more more shorts than anything else. I amsure we will have to buy sweatshirts there so I will probably just pack one and a light jacket.My kids will be so excited to be in California they won't even notice the weather.

13 days for us. I'm really hoping for warm weather - it has been so cool and rainy here I'm ready to scream. Went to WDW in January and we were freezing.

Well at least the cruise will be warm in August.

We returned last Friday after spending 6 days at DLR. We have gone to DLR every June for the last five years, and this is the first time I ever heard about "June gloom". We were COLD. It would get to 67 or 68 degrees, but no sun. The clouds never burned off, like we remembered they did in the past.
One day, I think it was Wednesday that week, the sun finally broke through and I actually got a little burned on my shoulders, but then Thursday it was back to clouds. On the bright side, it never rained and we were never hot! I'm not really complaining because I'd rather have it cool than hot, but it didn't feel like the kind of So. Cal. weather we have encountered in the past!

When we landed in Milwaukee, it was sunny and 74 degrees! Definitely weird!

Have a great trip! We had a really good time!

Yep, every year we have June Gloom--not sure why you never got it before--but it is a California Tradition! We have had some May GRAY this year!

I love the weather--not cold enough for a coat, but not so hot you die of heat stroke! It stays around mid 60's at nite and mid 70's in the day--today, there was a little drizzle on the windshield but i did not have to wear even a sweater to work (and I start at 5:30am)--i hope that helps. I would probably suggest a sweatshirt tho' for the late evenings.

bring a light coat/sweatshirt and jeans!!! I was there last night and maybe I'm a sissy but I thought it was COLD!!! Definate June Gloom for us this week! I'm about 1 hour north of DLR and I'm guessing it's about 65-70 degrees right now...and it's noon!

Ok I hope the weather is better than our forecast. We have had so much rain I feel like I am drowning.
Starwood We did the cruise in August 2 years ago and the weather was ideal.

We we're in August also (I think it was the 4th). The weather was so nice and the seas were so calm. I can't wait to go after this miserable winter and spring.
