Just came back from our trip this morning. I've stayed in 4 different resorts :

All Stars Music
Wilderness Lodge
Beach Club
Port Orleans French Quarter

I'm going to do a short review of each with pics, hoping it can help someone choose their resort :cutie:

We had stayed at POFQ last year, but it was our first time staying at ASMU, WL and BC.

Can't wait to read about the WL! We'll be there 1/12-17. My 1st stay at WL. I am a bit nervous about small rooms with our family of 5 (kids 7, 6 and 4)

Don't bother unpacking--just get those pics up!! LOL

-------------------------------

I was by myself at this resort, checked in late in the evening due to a flight delay, and as I feared, was given a room in the Country Fair section, which is all the way in the back of the resort. Turned out it isn't so far, maybe a 5mns walk. And I liked the giant boots :)

The rooms at ASMU were remodeled this year and look great. We'd stayed at ASMO last year and the rooms there need a refurb. The room was very clean, and I had a towel Mickey waiting for me on the bed.
Housekeeping was good, gave me plenty of towels.

The food court was nice. I ate there several times, because it was convenient and they accept the DDE card. One thing though, is that they only start serving "real" breakfast at 7am. If you intend to go to morning EMH and want breakfast before that, your only choices are the bakery (bagels, donuts, danishes) and the grab'n'go section. Also, they cover up the beverage aisle after midnight, so don't plan to get a drink from your refillable mug if you come back from the parks after that time. There are vending machines available in all the buildings, if you feel like paying $2.50 for a bottle of soda

I used one of the laundry rooms - there are two, one next to each pool - and I can happily report that the dryers cycles are now 30mns instead of 15, so you no longer need to pay twice for your clothes to be dry.

Buses were great, never had to wait more than 10mns and more often than not had no wait at all. I even had a bus all to myself on the way back from AK once. The buses were shared with Sports on the way back from MGM, but Music had its own buses to/from the rest of the parks.

The main pool, in front of Calypso buildings, was heated, but the Piano pool was not. Either way, it was very cold those days and I never got to use the pool.

I would come back, although I do like the theming at POP better. The theming at Music was nice though, and not too overwhelming, it seems to be the quieter of the values. I chatted with a luggage service guy who told me "Movies is for families, Sports is for groups, and Music is for adults."

-------------------------------

I was still solo when I checked in, but my mom would be coming that night.

We were upgraded from Standard to Woods view  . On our 2nd night, I got to see the fireworks from the Christmas party from our balcony!

The rooms are smaller than the Poly or BC, but bigger than a moderate - although not by a whole lot. There were only 2 of us in the room, but I had a ton of luggage, and my side of the room was a bit cramped.

Like AKL, the resort is very dark, rooms included. The lobby was very impressive with the huge tree, fireplace and Christmas decorations everywhere. We'd been to WL for dinner in the summer and loved the look of the resort, but it was even more amazing at Christmas time.

My mom went to the pool and the hot tub, she enjoyed both. The courtyard is lovely. We never got to see the geysers though :(

We ate at Roaring Forks and Whispering Canyon. Roaring Forks is very basic - pizza, burgers, pb&j for kids. We didn't have breakfast there but it was very busy in the morning. WCC was great, lots of fun and good food. We went there for both breakfast and dinner.

We'd definitely return. Our one disappointment was the sleigh ride, which turned out to be both boring and embarassing.

I can't really comment on the transportation, as I only used the bus once to go to Downtown Disney. It was pretty bad because the bus had to make a stop at the Grand Floridian first, and it took a good 35mns to make it to DTD.

Great to see you back, hope to hear more from you soon. Keep up the reviews. Will you be doing a new trip report for us too? Hope so:goodvibes WELCOME HOME!!!!!!

Great reviews! I can't wait to read the rest.

Thanks for the great reviews and photos! Did you notice the quality of the beds at ASMu? I found them to be extremely comfortable vs. the harder beds at Pop. I stayed at several resorts last year but was not as ambitious as you to write/post so really appreciate your taking the time for this.---Kathy

I love that we took almost exactly the same pics of ASMu when we were there! lol I'm loving your reviews! :)

Loving your reviews and wonderful photos. I'll be staying at ASMu for the first time in August.

Thank you so much for the great reviews. You did a great job with the pictures too!! I love the picture of the Christmas Tree at WL. It must have been beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Glad everyone is enjoying the reviews & pics :)

Hey there ! Yes I'll do a TR for this trip but I have to finish the one from October before that LOL ... I think I took over 1500 pics this trip, but most of them are bad so I gotta go through them first.

Thanks for the great reviews and photos! Did you notice the quality of the beds at ASMu? I found them to be extremely comfortable vs. the harder beds at Pop.

Definitely !! There was a huge difference. At POP you can feel the bed frame through the mattresss. The beds at ASMU were so comfortable for a Value, the mattresses are so thick they don't use fitted sheets, I guess they don't fit.

Beach Club coming next :lovestruc It was my favorite resort but somehow I can't find any good pics.
