10 Day PH vs Gold AP

I'm in a similar boat...we bought 10 day PH from UCT...we do not have another trip planned but may upgrade to an AP for the extra $295 total as a "just in case" we plan another trip at some point in the next year.

Yes. As the current policy stands, if you purchase PHs through UCT, you can upgrade them at Disney Guest Services. Just be sure that you go to Guest Services knowing what you should pay so you can ensure that the CM bridges the price correctly. (Many CMs do not!) There is a "sticky" thread in this forum all about tickets. You can find detailed instructions there.

Even the DVC AP @ $595.34 ?

As GAN indicated, you can upgrade to a DVC Gold AP. Just be sure to do your math ahead of time because we have never been successful on the first try. Many CMs neglect to bridge the price, so you may have to ask for a supervisor or even go to another Guest Services.

Also, be aware that it matters whether you have one of the older MYW tickets or the newer, expiring ones. If the former, you will be credited the gate price prior to the February price increase. If you have a newer ticket, you will be credited the current gate price.

Of course Disney could change its policies any time, so we all hold our breath a bit until our upgrades are complete! (Me included!)

Ok ..great. All excellent info!

One more quick one that I didn't think about. I purchased my 6-Day Hopper(through U/T) and I'm fairly certain I will upgrade to the DVC AP upon arrival, which will give me access to Memory Maker. Will that be immediately active when I enter a Park? I think I heard something about the pictures not being available through the MDE for a day or two -does that sound right?

It will cover any trips you have still accessible - even if they had occurred a month or two ago. What can happen is it might take a bit of time for the pictures to be accessible but you won't miss out on any even if you don't upgrade until the end of your stay.
