Yes. And you'll need to find a CM that knows how to bridge correctly. If a person doesn't give you the price difference you've calculated, just thank them for their time and try again at another location.

Great to know! I'll keep that number in mind and try a few places. I hope they get it right on the first time.

One more question: I know I'll have to link the AP to MDE but will that interfere with the already selected FP+?

It should not change any of your existing FPP's set up for the 7 day limit of the AP. So if you have a 10 day and had FPP's on days 8 9 10 you may lose those. I'd either plan on not scheduling those FPP to start with or make sure they are stuff you can live without in case you can't get them back.

I have heard of people losing their FP's when upgrading. Be sure to take screenshots of your FP's, show them to someone, & check them again right after upgrading.

If the OP is staying onsite there isn't a 7 day limit; she'll be able to schedule FP+ for her length of stay if it's greater than 7 days.

Bridging depends on how you bought the ticket. There are cases where Disney will not bridge to the new price REGARDLESS of how you bought it or if it's been used.

If you do this you lose out on the Discounts, free parking and buying TiW/DDE which may or may not factor into the OPs need for a AP. So be careful when suggesting this.

One is that the code that handles this is written correctly. At this point I would say yes it should be solid, the code paths have been tested 1,000s of times in the real world.

Two that the person at the window does the upgrade in the correct way.

And until you do it you don't know how it's going to come out, Heisenberg effect.

Agreed. If everything is done correctly, OP, you'll be able to retain more than 7 days worth of FP+ since you're staying onsite. If you were staying offsite you'd be limited to a rolling 7 days of FP+.

Yes, I want to do it on the first day because I want to purchase a TiW card. We have free dining but so many more ADRs and the 20% discount will come in handy.

We did this in April, and had to go to multiple guest services before we found a CM that knew how to price bridge. Just know how much the upgrade cost should be and then get your tickets back and move on if the quote you get is significantly different. I wouldn't squabble over a small variance - my vacation time is worth something

We DID NOT lose our FP+ reservations when we upgraded.

If the current price is higher than $440.91, they should give you credit for that amount if you use it once.
