For anyone already at WDW, do you happen to know what the 10 day weather forecast is? Heading out Sunday and wondering what it is. I do realize it's Florida, and we can get rain every day, but I like to get an idea.

Thanks!:goodvibes

If you go to weather.com and then but in either Walt Disney World or Lake Buena Vista you can get the forecast no matter where you are right now. You can also use the weather channel ap on a smartphone and use either as your location and get both hourly and other forecasts for anywhere.

Mixed, rain, sunny, hot or cooler. Changes like the rest of th US with ever changing events as we are between to oceans.

Oh my, I took this opportunity to look, and every day for the next 10 days there's at least a 30% chance of isolated thunder showers. Percent goes up to 60 on some days. I'm glad you asked, definitely need slickers!

Bobbi;)

Per weather.com:

Sun High 87 Low 71 40% Chance of Rain
Mon High 84 Low 71 60% Chance of Rain
Tue High 83 Low 70 60% Chance of Rain
Wed High 85 Low 69 30% Chance of Rain

Thanks for all the info!

Bobbie - definitely pack the slickers! I usually check out the weather the week I go.

Apparently this posted twice. Don't know why...

Just a note...there were two duplicate threads running and they've been merged into this thread. :)

There are two disturbances out in the Gulf and Atlantic right now. TS Jerry has formed in the Atlantic, but it doesn't look like it is going anywhere near land at this time. There is a low pressure area, just off the coast of Central America, that is supposedly headed for the southern Gulf of Mexico. Hopefully, it will just head for Mexico and give them lots of rain.

I'm not ready for a second TS this year when I only have two vacations to Florida. I already was there for TS Andrea in June.

I have several times made a sort of flow chart of the 10 day forecast. My experience has been that they almost cycle through every possibility. So, for example, Dec. 1 at 10 days out is sunny. 9 days out, partly cloudy. 8 days out overcast. 7 days out, rain, and so on. In other words, I found it highly unreliable.

My new Eddie Bauer rain jacket is already to be packed for my trip this weekend. Had to replace the old one as it's way too big now(lost 60lbs!).

It's fall in FL, rain jacket, extra socks and an extra pair of shoes were the first thing on my packing list.

I have both weather.com & accuweather apps on my phone, usually look at them when I'm out with my sister and she's going on with the weekly "making a mountain out of a molehill" crisis. This week we are on should she get a new purse or tv.

We are headed to WDW next week as well and have been following the weather forecasts - they change daily, hahah.

This morning Accuweather posted the following:
Wed 9th 89/72 partly cloudy
Thur 10th 89/72 a little afternoon rain
Fri 11th 90/71 rather cloudy, a little rain
Sat 12th 90/71 sunny warm
Sun 13 88/70 a thunderstorm or two

You can be sure that tomorrow the Sun 13 forecast can say sunny, and in 2 days it can forecast clouds . . .

There is nothing unusual about this forecast. This is a typical weather pattern for Florida from June to late October. Scattered afternoon thunderstorms is the norm.
FYI, 10 day forecasts are not very reliable. beyond about 6 days out the models rely on historic data for the forecasts, not current atmospheric data. You would have almost the same luck rolling the dice.

Thanks Chuck! I created the thread yesterday with my tablet and for some reason it posted twice! :confused3

Seriously...typical Florida weather. But I always track it until my feet hit Orlando International Airport!

Don't have a slicker but I do have my "Mickey" poncho!! You would think that since I traditionally do go in October I'd invest in a nice rain jacket. :rotfl:

Here's to sunshine and pixie dust for all of us!! pixiedust::beach:
