Alright- I may have a slight sickness. I know I’m not alone so I figured I’d share with some who will understand. I’m pretty excited about the trip I’m planning and need an outlet.

This year is our 10 year anniversary. I figured I’d plan a nice getaway and started thinking about a cruise. We have never cruised before and I thought it would be a great change of pace. DW is a little gun shy about it, so I figured a 3 or 4 night would be a good warm up. DW wanted 3 nights, so I booked the 3 night Dream. This is where it started getting dangerous and it only got worse. I started thinking why not add a night at DVC pre cruise and maybe one post cruise. Since the cruise went Th-Sun, I didn’t want to be into another work week, so I figured add two days on the front. Then I figured if we’re going to be there Tues & Wed., hell it’s our 10 year anniversary, why not make it Sun-Wed and treat ourselves. I know selfish; but, 10 year only comes once. If I needed to justify it even more, the frequent flier miles worked better. Besides, my parents would love the time with the kids, lol. This is where it gets truly sick. I got the most recent edition of Mousesaver and it describes the potential “value” one can realize by doing a one night platinum package sandwiched in between a couple of days at Disney World. It starts by saying this is not for the faint of heart or the Disney Novice. Yep, now I’m a gonner. I start researching the package details and I am in planner paradise. You get the benefit of access to the package activities from the morning of check-in, through midnight on check-out. This package requires minimum of one night deluxe hotel at rack rate and at least a one day tix. I start messing around with my outlook calendar so I can see how various activities will work into the schedule and it looks like a jam packed couple of days. Here are the results.

Sounds great to me... we're going on our 5th Anniversary this year.(we honeymooned at WDW in '06) We will have our DD(3yr old) with us... someday we will do more romantic meals such as V & A. For now, we're enjoying our time together and watching our daughter's enjoyment!(will be her 4th Disney trip)
Have fun planning!

Honestly, it all sounds great but some of the times that you have to get from point a to point b may not be doable. For example the bass fishing is I believe at Fort Wilderness. Then the Segway tour always require that you be there about 15 minutes early so it's really not possible to get all the way from the dock at Fort Wilderness to the front of Epcot in 15 minutes.

Oh another thing. You didn't leave much time for your wife to get freshened up for dinner at Victoria and Alberts. After doing all those fun activities all day she may need a minute to powder her nose. princess:

Something to check into:
I believe the Signature Dining (V&A) requires 2 table service vouchers, and if you stay only one night I don't think that will work.

this sounds just like me - but add 5 years.

our 15th is in june. we had never done a cruise a before (of any kind) so we figured - what they hey. we booked dcl dream 4 night sailing june 3rd. we technically get back to port 1 day before our actual anniversary so obviously we couldnt come home. i booked the honeymoon suite at WL - its our anniversary!

well then, we decide to go a couple of days early to "acclimate". we will be at coronado (may upgrade to BLT) - again, its our anniversary!

to cap it all off - we decide to go ahead and join the DVC before the trip.

happy anniversary to me, to me.

I believe the platinum package handles dining differently than the regular DDP. There are no "vouchers". 3 meals per day and they can all be table service if you would like, including V&A.

I totally agree, not much time to get from one activity to another. When we splurge for V&A (our 25th and 30th anniversaries) I obsessed for months on what I will wear. If DH only gave me 30 minutes to dress, I would be

Thanks for the heads up. When I aksed her she said that the parasailing may not happen for her, either day, depending on how it looks when she sees it. I realize some of the transitions are tight, field adjustments will need to be made.

We just did this for our 10 year last week. Did a 4 night on the Disney Dream and then 3 night at BLT in a 2 bedroom. Brought the kids and my parents. It was a great time. Enjoy and Happy Anniversary!

I totally get it. And how nice you like to plan. My DH just says "When are we going?" and hopes for the best ;) We've always loved Disney. Started spending our anniversary at Disneyland (because it's just down the road) 15 years ago. And 5 years ago took a trip to WDW which started our DVC life.

So why not start the Disney anniversary tradition, there's enough to last many years of magic.
