10-5-02 Magic Cruise

Page 7 for us? Ye GADS, bump.

Bought two more dresses, Dillard's had a great sale. Probably should have bought another suitcase, too.

In Grand Case, it was suggested that we go to il Nepttuno, an Italian restaurant on the water, close to the beach. There or Calmos (don't know about the spelling). At Calmos you can sit right on the beach and get food and drink. The other two suggestions were for dinner, at which time we plan to be back on the ship. My friend also told me to go eat on Bikini Beach because it's fun and outside, but I don't think we'll make it there.

I got my shore excursion info from my TA Monday. Thanks to Carla I now have to buy some underwater cameras! Can't wait! We weren't planning on snorkeling, but know it will be a blast!:Pinkbounc

Trying to revive our thread with trivia.

We have been trying some of the wines from the cheaper wine package.

Mondavi Coastal Merlot: O.K. if you are not tooooo picky.

Camelot Pinot Noir: O.K. if you are not toooooooo picky.

Danzante Sangiovese, 1997: Surprisingly good for the price!

Carla Archival info: won't do the Grigio, hate the stuff, Asti, good and tasty, great hangover material, the "Champagne" is fine.

I found some great deals on swimwear at Kohls and Boston Store. I'm not usually a big shopper but I had a great time last weekend finding deals.

As for the wine packages, if we were to do one of the packages, we would probably choose the premium package. It's not that we're too picky, I just like the choices better. I also don't think that we would drink 7 bottles during the week. I don't want to have to carry home any from the ship because I'm already planning on bring home rum!!! Once we went to California and tried to save money by carrying back 14 bottles of wine. Nothing broke in our luggage but it sure was heavy!!

We are leaning toward the premium package also. Figure if the Fairytail Cuvee and the Fess Parker are for Walt's 100 they might be worth carring home. Also love the Conundrum, good turkey and fish wine. Since we have four adults (plus a 21 yo DN) we figure we could do justice to the package. Just hope I convince DH not to order Cabernet EVERY night.

The sales here are just about tapped out. I keep going though, not that I need anything, but there still might be something I just have to have. I just hope my little guys do not add an inch or two, otherwise we may have to do some shopping for them. The little one just hit Space Mountain height (ewww... but hopefully DH and DN will take them on). One more major shopping trip to the dive shop to replace some snorkel stuff lost in a sewage flood, and for Slap Straps for the kids, then I MUST stay out of the stores.

Just bumping. 6 weeks to go. Is everybody ready? Anybody recieve doc's yet? Shondra

No cruise docs here in NM yet. I think we are ready, except for some alterations and hemming to our new dresses! Oh, and I've got to write a note to the mid-school principal for the three days of school my DD will miss.

Carla, I know that the Fess Parker Chardonnay can be purchased at some of the gift shops around WDW for $16, which might be cheaper than buying it on the ship to take home. Maybe not all the gift shops, but for sure the ones that carry groceries for the DVC resorts. Just saw it at the shop in Beach Club. Diana

Hmmm..Wines, thanks for the info about the Fess. I guess our wine haul-on will mostly depend on how much other stuff we have to carry. We added another bag, went to the dive store and they were having a sale so we added a large back-pack net bag that will hold all the masks, fins and snorkels, plus the fish card, anti-fog, kleenex in baggies (don't forget that for blowing noses after snorkeling), waterproof holders....

For those joining us on the snorkel trip to Buck, my credit card is supposedly charged, but I do not have the bill yet. If those who are already confirmed want to pay 36.50 each now (the price divvied among 18) PM me and I'll send my address. Still room if we have any new lurking (fess up).

Still have to get an over the door shoe holder and lose 5 pounds around the middle.

Fed Ex just delivered our cruise documents for the October 5 sailing of the Magic.

So...looking forward to a magical cruise! :Pinkbounc

FedEx takes forever to get to NM. It has to go through Dallas and Denver, sometimes to CA! Not looking for ours today, but I hope soon! Anyone going on the Eagle catamaran excursion on St. Martin? Diana

Anyone else get their docs?? I am hoping to get mine soon.

Yes, here in Atlanta we just received them in the last hour! Yippee, I'm so excited...

I haven't opened them yet as I have a few more hours of work to do here at my PC before I allow myself the pleasure!:Pinkbounc

Got Docs, but where's the beef? Wasn't there supposed to be a 300 page book with info to keep us entertained? Ooops, guess that was Entropy, Dave and Barb.;)

My TA just e-mailed me and said they were in, but she has to review them first :( . I hope I get them before the weekend.

I also found out since we booked through AAA travel, we'll get soda mugs free! That's less I have to carry on!

Hi all!

Just thought I'd chime in that I am booked for this cruise as well. It will be just me and my mother - no husband or kids this time around!!

We just got our docs today, it must be getting close now! Looking forward to meeting you!
