10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

Hope everyone has had a great day. I had my first observation of the year and it went really well. :cool1: :cool1:   Now I feel like a load is off me and I can really get busy getting things ready for the cruise.

Lori, I understand what you mean about getting things ready at school. Our first grading period ends the day before the cruise. I will have to have all of my grades ready as well as sub plans before I leave on the 1st. Thankfully, we have fall break the week of the cruise, so I don't have to do plans for that week.:teacher:

I still haven't heard from my TA about our cruise documents:sad2: . I know that she will have them to us before the cruise. I am just anixous to have them in my hands.

Jacquelyn, how is Katie? Hope things continue to go well. As for what we are doing for pirate night, we will probably wear our pirate t-shirts. The boys have a few accessories. My DH says he is not dressing up. He is going to wear a tropical shirt. He has a pirate shirt, but doesn't want to wear it.

Hope everyone has a great Thursday. I only have a few more parent conferences to go and I will be finished with them for the first semester. DS13 plays at his last football game tomorrow night. It will be a late night for us. He has had so much math homework the last week, it is not funny. Between homework and projects that both boys have due, I am about to go crazy. :scared1:

Lois - don't stress and have a great time. We leave Cadillac a week from tomorrow and I am not ready - but I will be. Work will just have to be 8 hour days next week as apposed to the 10 and 12 hours I have been putting in. I have something else to get ready for.

My grocery list is due on Saturday for the shopping service for OKW so I need to finalize the menu and get it together for her. Other than that, my lists are complete and I beleive that I am golden. And if not, I will get done what I can and not sweat the small stuff. Funny how we have a huge amount of time to get things done and then no time - where did the middle go???

I called last night and spoke to CM Peggy Sue from England who informed me that nothing had been print for me. She said if I got anything it would only be luggage tags and that I really didn't need them I could get them at the terminal.
Bummer, Geneva has been chasing every UPS truck in her neighborhood. I called her after I was finished speaking to Peggy Sue and told her to stop chasing those guys, we had a good laugh. She's a little disappointed that she is not going to get to do the docs dance. I sent her a post saying "We'll be seeing you real soon." I signed it from Mickey and Minnie. As soon as she got it she called me so excited, I never let on that I sent it. I'm glad I did that since she won't be getting docs.
Peggy Sue also told me that there were 2 staterooms on deck 7 that were connecting so I'm going to call DVC this morning to see what it will cost to upgrade to them. If it's to much we will be staying were we are on deck 5.
You all have a nice day, it's beautiful one here 78 and sunny.

I was thinking of putting DD (8 months) in a Tinkerbell costume for Pirate Night. Do you think people will "get it" or should I get something more "Pirate-ish?"

Sorry for the double post, but I had a brainstorm! If I put DD in Tinkerbell, I could make dh Captain Hook and I could wear a Blue Sheath dress and be Wendy! Too much? Not Pirate-ish enough? Opinions please!

I think that would be really cute. I have a pic of Tucker (4) dressed as Peter Pan holding Avery (3 weeks) dressed as Tink. It was SO sweet. I'll find it and post in a minute.

Oh my goodness! That would be awesome. I could never get my family to go for it, but I would love to do something like that. If people don't get it, they aren't real Disney fans! lol :confused3
I say go for it!:yay:

Things are going well. I have a set of 1 yr old twins I just started keeping... so things are really busy around here! Not complaining, though! ;)

I am trying to get caught up on laundry today. I am about 4 loads behind, so it will take awhile. Tomorrow I have to pack suitcases and load the car for a weekend at the beach. My sister's friend lent her family a beach house at Cape Hatteras for the week, so the kids and I are joining them for the weekend.

I can't believe that I leave for Florida 2 weeks from today. :scared1: I have so much left to do. But since everything is last minute type stuff, I can't do any of it for at least 10 days. That is the worst thing about vacation... the rush and pressure the last few days before you leave. I am always completely exhausted the morning we leave!

Vero Beach Girl -- That is the cutest idea I have ever heard! I really hope you do it!

Last night my DH broke out the pirate costume he purchased online. Let me tell you with his red bandana and sash he looks priceless! I was honestly speachless (until I started to laugh that is!), so cute. I can't wait to have little one we can dress up!

I'm going to ask my husband if he'll dress up when he gets home from work tonight. Hopefully, he'll say yes! I mean, at least I'm not asking him to be Peter Pan!

I LOVE playing dress up with my dd, even though she's only 8 months old! She has several costumes. Shopping for her is one of my favorite things to do! You'll notice her on the cruise, she'll be the super-fashionable baby with the smile on her face, the proud Daddy kissing her, and the frantic Mom trying to capture it all on video!

I just wanted to say Hi to everyone! I am very new to this (so bear with me!!!)...my DH has already been posting (modlitkrt1) on here in regards to our upcoming Wish Trip! He has been so excited that I can't get him of the computer at night...he know more about cruising than I do! LOL

I am looking forward to meeting everyone...I know the girls are too! :cheer2: I read about the Dismeet on Deck 9 and we will definitely be there!

Ok, our travel plans have changed for the trip.We are going to fly to Jacksonville on Friday morning and rent a car to get us to the Radisson, then rent a car to get back to Jacksonville after the cruise. We dont fly home till Sunday morning. Now have to find a hotel in Jacksonville for the night. That will sure beat 11 hours in the car each way with the boys.

Off to make dinner.

Deego, glad to meet you! :) Look forward to meeting you and your family in person.

Kim, that's great that you guys are flying. Will make for an easier trip I think.

Why is it so hard to get your kids in bed sometimes? I set out to make sure that everyone was in bed with lights out at 9:00 tonight. Of course at 8:45, everyone remembers something they forgot to do that just HAS to be done tomorrow. AARRRGGGHHH!

Lori P. :)

Just ordered our pirate attire for Pirate Night! pirate:
We will get them within the week. I usually do not wait until the last minute for things but I wasn't sure of what we were going to do. I'm excited about the costumes!!

Denise,

Is it too late to join the the group and be part of the fish extender exchange?

Thanks,
Denise

:welcome: Deego! I think us Canadians are starting to outnumber everyone on this cruise! Whereabouts in Ontario are you coming from, we're from Cambridge.

Down to a week for us until we leave for Buffalo (less than 1.5hrs away) where we're going to spend the night before flying to Disney the next morning.

Kim, Can I ask how much you got airfare for? We are still looking and debating but haven't been able to find any thing that put flying in our reach.

I just booked Captain Marvin's 1/2 stingray trip for Grand Cayman. Is anyone else doing this?
