Still can't get though to Midwest but I booked us on Air Tran leaving 9/20 at &;30 AM non-stop and coming home on 10/12/08 leaving at OMG 6:30 AM with one 30 min layover. I am happy. The most it will increase our cost is 43 dollars so I think we made out ok. I will see everyone soon.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I finally had time to get our tours booked Now I feel a bit better in spite of the MNSSHP cancellation that something is going my way. We booked all 9 of us for the trolley tour in Key West as well as the Island tour in Grand Cayman. I have already done the GC tour on a previous cruise and enjoyed it so I think everyone else will too!

As I said in my last post that Disney wouldn't take my inquiries about the cancellation but I tried a different # today (one from my invoice) and she was more than willing to help me...she's taken my number and is going to check what she can offer, she suggested a different night but that isn't going to work for us so I asked about discounted tickets for during the day and she's checking on that so fingers crossed she comes through with something.

Has anyone else had any luck getting something in lieu of the cancellation?

Putting the final touches on my fish extender in the next couple of days so when I'm done I'll post pics. Does anyone remember who was wanting our last name for a FE gift? I can't remember and find it so time consuming to re-read all the posts to find it. If anyone knows that would be awesome! I still need to come up with a gift for it too I want it to be creative so it's going to take some time

I spoke with Disney yesterday and very politely expressed my dissatisfaction with MNSSHP being cancelled Oct. 3rd. I told her we specifically were staying on property that night so we could go to WDW for the first time and experience the party. I asked if there were any other parks we could go to that stayed open late. Turns our Epcot is open til midnight. It is not "The World" certainly, but she did comp us tickets for the evening of the 3rd as well as refund the MNSSHP tickets. For us, there really is no other day that would work for us and while I am not happy at all about the cancellation, I am satisfied with what they have done for us. I am sure if it is within reason of what they can do, they will do it to make you happy. Good luck.

I actually got a call back from them and what they ended up offering us was tickets for Magic Kingdom that day for the same price we paid for our MNSSHP tickets which is a savings of about $80.00. Are you certain they are refunding your money (awesome if they are!)because she said to me "we will comp you tickets for the park for the day in lieu of the cancellation" and I responded with so you will be refunding the money onto my credit card for the original purchase and she said "let me check" after checking she said no the original price will remain on the card but that I was receiving a good deal on the park tickets in replacement. What she wanted to give us was replacement tickets for a different night but I told her were coming in early for our cruise specifically to go the the MNSSHP and that was already arranged and cannot be changed to accomodate a later date ie: after the cruise. I was happy with what she offered so no worries here at least I still get to take the kids to WDW as they are so excited about it.

Glad you got what you wanted too! It should be a great time.

We made paper chains with the kids to countdown the days and I definately see them getting shorter!

If you don't have hopper tickets, it would be worth it to pay the upgrade. Go to MK or where ever during then day, then hop to Epcot for EMH. I think MK is still supposed to close at 7, so there would be plenty of time to do another park. BTW... Everything at Epcot should be little to no wait during EMH... Test Track and Soaring being the exceptions.

I'm SO EXCITED! I made my two fish extenders today. I want to post pics, but of course the battery onmy camera is dead and i can't find the charger. I think they turned out well...and all without sewing one stitch. Of course, I think I have permanently glued my fingers together, but at least I'll have my f.e.'s, lol.

Glad to hear that they're comping you guys for the MNSSHP tickets. It sure does mess up people's plans when they go and cancel something like that.

I am getting busy on the FEs! I have the materials, the directions. (Insert a emoticon of cat chasing tail here) I found a cool item for our family giveaway. Who do we ask to make sure we aren't big fat copycats and to find out the actual # so we can make sure we have the whole crew covered. Also I thought I gave my last name to whoever needed it, but after I saw that last post....I am not feeling so secure that I remembered.
It sounds like the MNSSHP crew is getting resolved nicely.
I emailed NativeWay and their excursions are longer than the crew wanted, so I contacted Capt. Marvins and think I have found a solution that will make everyone happy. Although my DB always says....."I reserve the right to B#$*!" Real charmer that boy! Happy Wednesday to you all. I am headed out to Michaels, the monogrammer and Lowes, because my son found out today that my bedroom curtain rod is not strong enough to hold Batman even if he is a 5 years old and 40 LBS. Who knew
Since it is in our bedroom...Hubby needs to get it back up as soon as possible, i don't think my neighborhood wants to see that much of us.

Had an interesting day yesterday. Apparently I got bit by a spider when putting the dog outside. I didn't know it had happened until I sat down at the computer and saw the welt/blister on my hand. I think it may have been a brown recluse because of the blister, though. This morning my wrist is pretty stiff from it. SO... guess I'll be calling the Dr later.

Hope everyone is having a good morning... especially you, Gena, since your whole life seems to be stress and drama lately. How are Quinn and your uncle doing?

A spiderbite. Yikes! Spiders are a huge phobia for me. I have the creepy crawlies just thinking about it. The Arrow Pest man may just get a call from me. Our problem here is the ants. Everyone I know has had to have their pest man back several times this summer, because they are particularly bad. Yesterday, my kids and I were filling up water balloons in the back yard. I went to turn the hose off, There was a snake! I was floored. with kids running around and all that action. I had to go get a rake and move him over the fence to my neighbors yard. They moved and the house has been vacant for 6 months. I hate to kill stuff, but if he comes back...He may have to go to that big swampland in the sky. My kids would probably step on him if they were out playing and get bit. He wasn't poisonous, but he was a good 3 foot and can still bite. Quite frankly I don't need that kind of excitement.

Spiders and snakes aren't on my top ten list of things to be around, but it's rodents that freak me out. I literally get the shivers when I see one. Last year, we had chipmunks getting into our house through an opening in the AC/heating unit.

I couldn't sleep at night, just thinking about little Chip-n-Dale running around in my house. I'm like Greta and don't want to hurt or kill things, but it got to the point that I was scared of sitting on the floor or going in my kitchen. (Dang varment was in my bread basket one day and jumped out and onto the floor when I walked up to the counter. I'm sure that's where at least 10 of my gray hairs came from)

Finally my DH put out these huge rat traps (which I can't even stand to look at) downstairs and we caught one. It made me almost cry, but I just couldn't live with that thing in my house. The other one, we managed to shoo out the door. We then replaced the heating unit which kept them out after that.

If it was a Brown Recluse please see the doctor ASAP. Sometime they will heal on there own but most often they require medications to stop the spread. Janet got bite and we caught it just in time. It can effect the joints too so keep us posted on your recovery. Lois

I never saw the spider, or felt it for that matter. I just knew the bite was very different from a regular bug bite.

As for the snake... if he isn't poisonous, keep him! If you have a snake, you will NOT get mice. I would much rather deal with a snake than a mouse (or other rodent.) We had a mole get into our house a few years ago. Avery was a baby, and I would be sitting and nursing, and see him dart by from the corner of my eye. Freaked me out! Finally caught him with a glue trap. But then smacked him with a shovel because he was so pitiful stuck to the glue, and I couldn't leave him to suffer.

Lois... my brother got bit by a brown recluse on his thumb when he was maybe 10. He just was putting antibiotic and a band-aid on it, and didn't think to tell my mom. By the time he finally told her, it was the beginning stages of gangreen, and the Dr said a few more days and he would have lost his thumb. So gross!

Lois... been meaning to ask if both kids in your sig are your grandkids. I assumed they were... but the little girl looks enough like Janet to be hers. Funny how that happens. Wynn and I look more like brother and sister than my own siblings!

Kari, I agree with Janet. Please go and get the bite checked out ASAP. This is something not to wait on. Quinn is now home. I hope to see him sometime the next couple of days. My uncle had skin graphs yesterday. The doctors covered the burns on his hands, arms and chest. They are going to wait on doing anything to his face. Apparently, it can heal on its own better than other parts of the body. We will know in about 5 days if they take or not. They had to get the graphs completed on his hands, due to scar tissue building up quickly. They said if they did not do these graphs right away, he might not be able to use his hands ever again.

I am off to school to hopefully get my room completed. I would like to have Monday and Tuesday of next week free so I can spend time with my boys. I want to take them and do something fun. Teachers start back next Thursday. This summer has gone by so quickly.

It's nice you get to go fix your classroom up before the school year. I don't know how our teachers can stand it. Because we are year round, the classrooms never sit empty, and they get a new room every 9 weeks. So when they track out, they have to take everything down and put it in a locker at school. Then go in over the weekend before class starts to set the new room back up. I guess it cuts down on clutter and keeps it cleaned out... but the stress of redoing everything 4 times a tear would be awful!
