10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

No page two for the Buccaneers!:cool2: :cool2: :cool2:

Thank you for keeping us off of page two. I have been too busy to do more than try to stay up in my reading. I am home early with a migrain so I won't say much. Write more later. Lois

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are doing well. Only 18 days of school left for us. I am taking off a half-day tomorrow to go on a field trip with DS (9). We are going bowling. My class is scheduled to go Friday. I had my last observation for this year last week and it went well. Only one more year and I will be tenured. The kids are so ready to be out (so are the teachers).

Lois, hope your headache gets better. I suffer from migraines, thankfully not very often. My mother has had them for years.

The weather here in Northern Alabama is beautiful. The dogwoods have never been more beautiful. The temperature is just perfect, not too hot or cold.

Well, I better close. I am teaching Bible class at church tonight. Have to get the kids ready and figure out what is for supper. Everyone have a great evening.

Gena

Hi everyone,

We got back from Vegas Sunday night but with Steve being home until today, this is my time on the computer, Finally! Saw a couple of stars and thought that was cool!

Best of luck to all that are taking or have taken the big state tests. It was always a worry when that time of the year came around for the boys.

I am a migraine sufferer also. My headaches practically disappeared when my doctor put me on Inderal (sp?). It changed my life!

Next week I will post the FE list again. As time gets closer, I'll ask everyone what they're bringing and will add that to the list. If you don't want your gift listed, you can just tell me. I know some of us are still trying to decide on that perfect gift.

I leave tomorrow to go to Shreveport (2 1/2 hours away)to enjoy Nate's first birthday on Friday. Hard to believe that it's already been a year.

Lois - so sorry about your headache. Mine are typically caffine related but I can also get them in the spring and fall - that 40 degree temp and rain or really damp just does me in.

Denise - have an awesome time with Nate and family.

Gena - 18 days :scared1: - and that must be 17 since it is a day later. Time sure does go fast. Drew is done May 21 as a senior but our underclassmen go until June 6th. And all that school they missed - they tacked on an extra half day - 3 hours for better than a week of snow days. I don't understand public education and its inner workings. Not logical to me but I am officially finished when Drew is done. And since we are going to trimesters - I am relaly happy to be done as I really don't "get" that either.

So - that was my rant for the day. I do apprecieate those that teach though, I think my issue lies with administration. Have a good day - and

And since we are going to trimesters

There's a scary thought... 1000 high school girls in their third trimester!:rotfl:

I get migraine's, too. Mine are usually hormonal. I've had one the last few days, but have been able to keep it at "nuisance" level. People never really understand migraines until they know the feeling of sleeping and waking up with it.

Well... since the house is on the verge of being condemned... guess I better go clean! :sad2:

Good morning, everyone. Hope everyone is doing well.

Lois, are you feeling better today, I hope? For 2 days after a migraine my head is really sore.

Guess it is a good thing that it is a small school - probably only about 500 females :rotfl:

Actually - I had to go look to be sure I called it the correct thing as I had not made the connection .

Don't clean too hard - it just seems to "undo" itself in a day or so anyway :confused3 !

I forget what it is like to have smaller children - mine don't get home sometimes until 9:00 of 10:00 at night so they don't have time (or energy after golf, soccer, school and/or work) to make too much of a mess.

Avery comes in the door and takes EVERYTHING out of her backpack every day. I asked her why she does that, and get "I don't know." Drives me nuts!! Both kids leave a trail of bags, shoes, socks, and jackets from the door to the den!

I am doing better but it may be a few days before I am at 100%.

I have great news!! It's a Girl!!! My daughter gave birth yesterday to her third child. They are naming her Haley and she was just a little more than 7 pounds. I have not seen her yet. I am waiting till she and mom come home from the hospital. I will try to post a picture next week. Now on to planning for her first Disney vacation in about 2014. Lois

That's funny! I wish mine would wait until they get in the house, but my 7 and 8 year olds immediately begin emptying their backpacks as soon as they get in the car, which means lots of papers/items have been left in the van until its too late to do anything about them.

Grandma, CONGRATS on your new granddaughter. That's so sweet and I wish you and your daughter all the best.

Gotta clean up dinner plates so I guess I'll go.

Congratulations Lois!! :jumping1:

Lois congrats! I love the name Haley, spoil her good. Glad you're on your way to recovery. I get headaches so bad that it makes my brain sore.

Dirty house, I've got one. Between the doors always being open, the pollen, and the latest constuction project DH has going on, my house is a dirty, dirty mess. I'm ignoring all of it except for the kitchen. I have to keep that clean so I can feed all my wonderful neighbors how are being so kind to help my DH with his project. We are blessed.

Everyone have a wonderful day.

Construction projects... I've got one of those! DH is turning our 2 car garage into a recording studio for his music. There is sawdust everywhere from where he comes in and out. I also have boxes stacked in the kitchen until he gets my closet in the corner of the garage finished. :sad2: My friend complains because her DH got an earring with his "mid-life crisis." I tell her if I had gotten out for $20... he could have pierced whatever the heck he wanted! :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

OMG she is just the best thing. She is beautiful. I can't wait to take her to visit Mickey!!!

OH MY GOSH!!!! Lois, she is the perfect, so beautiful. Oh, I wish I could hold her. She is going to give you such joy. You're going to have a great time planning her first visit to the World.:cloud9:

Thank you for sharing.

wow Lois, you can't get much more perfect than that. She is gorgeous :)

Hey, I have a question for you guys. Would you ever consider taking someone on your cruise that's not related? I have a kid at my school that my family has semi-adopted, and i'm toying with the idea of taking him on our cruise. He'll be at the high school next year, so it's not like my middle schoolers would think I was playing favorites.

I've called to get a price, but just don't know if I would be opening up a big can of worms. He would never be able to go on his own b/c his mom and dad (who just got divorced) don't have the money at all. We have two rooms, so he could share with my oldest three and Matthew can sleep in our room.

He would be playing football at that time, so I don't know if he could even do it or not. Anyway, just wondering if you have any thoughts.
