10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

I'M BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been away from the DIS boards far too long. Just got back from a weekend in Morgantown, WV. My granddaughter turned 3 this weekend.

Tania - have a great vacation. Glad to hea5r tha5t David is doing better.

Denise - I know what you mean about sleeping after having an active toddler around. I am always tired, but happy, after spending time with my grandkids. This Thursday, I'm heading to Kalamazoo to have an overnight with my 2 grandchildren. Saturday, my Detroit granddaughters will spend the day with me.

Keggy - Have a great WDW vacation. We'll miss meeting you on the cruise.

WELCOME Meathboy 2006 and family. I've added you to post #1 and will add you to the spreadsheet.

To All Buccaneers Take to the Scale - count me in. I'll head over to the WISH board to join in. I would like to lose at least 20-25 pounds.

We are in the middle of standardized testing as well. Tomorrow is the math part so I'm holding my breath for that one, lol

I'm ready for summer so that I can concentrate on my cruise. Lately, I have been so busy with school and stuff that I haven't even thought about it too much.

Just wanted to chime in so you guys wouldn't think I'd dropped off the board. Talk to you all later!

Lori, I hear ya! When I booked this trip last July, I thought there was NO way I was going to be able to wait for it. Then I got busy with life, kids schedules, etc. and did not have time to hang on the boards until our October break (we are modified year round school). Then I got busy again with the holidays and did not really look around much until this past spring break (a few weeks ago). Now, I realize that it is coming up sooner than I thought it would  and that is a great thing! I find that I come on a little bit each day, but I have to limit myself. Anyway, I am enjoying getting to know you all through these boards...keep posting...have a great day everyone!

Hello fellow Buccaneers! pirate:
Nice weather here in the Philly Suburbs. I am just so darn excited for this cruise-how will I ever get through the next 5 months, 17 days, 12 hours, 23 minutes???? :scared1:
I'm going to have to start working on my door magnets desgins! That's what I'll do now. Anyone else start thinking on their door magnets????

Hi all! I've been busy today.

I booked another cruise but this one is with RCCL. It's not until Aug 2009 so I have a long waiting period. I'm working on a large group booking, neighbors, friends, family members and DIS buddies old and new.

We'll be sailing out of Baltimore going to the Caribbean for 9 nights.

I'm loving it cause I won't have to worry about transportation to Florida, hotel stays the night before or rental cars.

Boy!!!! all this TA work kept me out of the frig today. Now what do I do tomorrow?

Everyone please have a great safe day.

Hi guys,

Just saying good-bye. We leave tomorrow for Steve's 50th birthday trip to Vegas.

Had my root canal done on Monday and am feeling great! For the first time in over a year, I can chew on the right side.

I will be incognito as we're not taking the computer. We won't have much time in Vegas and don't want to spend it in the room.

Take care,
D

Anyone else start thinking on their door magnets????

I think I will do the Mickey Buccaneer from here and a family magnet. The kids are going to each do one of their own... probably with scrapbooking stuff from Michael's.

Denise, have fun in Vegas!

Hi Buccaneer's,

Hope everyone is having a good week. I've got 3 magnets done for our door, now I need to work on my SIL's door.

Ginger - I booked another cruise last week too. It's on the Norwegian Dawn for Oct 4, 2009, for my husband's 50th birthday. It's going to Bermuda. We leave out of New York, I'm excited about that!!!

Denise- Hope you have a great time in Vegas.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!popcorn::

Anyone out there feel the earthquake? I guess it was felt here in Kansas City but I slept through it. I will need to call the in-laws to see if they felt it. They are north west of Chicago. Hope every one has a good week-end. Lois

We felt the after shocks from the earthquake. There was one about 4:40am and another at 10:30. We are on the IL/IA border about 250 miles north west of the epicenter. It was a strange sensation. The last time I remember feeling an earthquake was around 1989. We sould be thankful we only have them every 20 or so years!

Hello everyone. I have been MIA but we got back last night (Toronto for work) and I am trying to catch up. I could not believe it - the grass was winter-brown when we left but I can see some green poking through. Supposed to be in the 60's this week so maybe the snow piles will be gone by next weekend.

Enjoy your weekend!

Hello everyone. Hope you had a good weekend.

We're back from the Gold Coast. Had a good time. The wedding (SIL) was nice. 2nd time for both. The reception was nice & relaxed. They had a fine day with only a little breeze.

My DD looked lovely as a flower girl. We had to go with my MIL to get DDs "final" dress fitting on the morning of the wedding. The dress had been made with the dressmaker only having measurements sent over by us. Thankfully it fitted perfectly :thumbsup2 .

The rest of the week was great. We had the Sunday filled with brunch & afternoon tea with the bride & groom. Afternoon tea ended up going until about 8pm :goodvibes .

We went to Movieworld (Warner Bros) & DreamWorld (Nickelodeon) on Mon & Tues. Had good days there. Their opening hours are only 10am - 5pm. And when they say 5pm they mean 5pm. Even the shops start closing, trying to get everyone out of the parks (very un-Disney like).

Came back friday (our time). I did manage to lose my wallet on the last morning :scared1: . How, I don't know. So our time at the airport was spent calling home to cancel my credit cards. But I have also lost my drivers license so haven't been able to drive all weekend. I am going to try & get a replacement card soon. Sounds painless but you never know.

Hope you all have a great week.

Tania

That is my biggest fear. We keep our money and such spread out whenever possible. All credit cards except 1 locked in glove box in locked car. Some cash in Wynn's wallet, some in my purse, and a majority in the safe in our hotel room. I hate your trip ended that way... but at least it wasn't at the beginning.

Yes it was good that it was at the end. Would've been more of a problem at the start. When we go on longer o/seas trips I usualy take out all but the essentials. However going to OZ is like being in NZ, so didn't even think about it.

It was more of inconvenience than anything. I only had about $50 cash & I couldn't drive all weekend.

I got my replacement license yesterday, which was a very quick & painless process. Took about 10 mins to fill out the form, pay & receive a temp one until a new one is posted :thumbsup2 .

I couldn't drive all weekend.

People here would just drive without it. My driving teacher always told us to memorize the number when you first got your license, because if you ever didn't have it, the police could look it up. I have had 1 speeding ticket and 2 wrecks without having my license with me :rolleyes1 , and didn't get into trouble because they were able to look me up by my number.

What a pain! Glad it all turned out OK - although time consuming and sort of scary all at the same time.

Spring has finally sprung here in Cadillac. Grass is green, trees are beginning to bud and the daffodils are out.

Have a good week everyone!

Tania sorry this happened to you, you sound pretty calm, I'd be a wreck. Glad you're getting things back in order.

It's gotten nice here, sun is shining bright. Veggies are growing in my garden.

My DH is taking out old plaster walls in one of our rooms and replacing with dry wall. Nasty job, fine dust everywhere, even with protection covers over the door way. Our house is really old, we are replacing everything slowly. Five years ago we replace the second floor and the whole back of the house, BRAND NEW KITCHEN:goodvibes . What a mess that was. Someday I'll have a whole new house.

You all have a great day. I'm off the workout.

We have to produce our licence if stopped. Not that I was expecting to be. It was a good excuse for DH to do all the running around for a change tho :thumbsup2 .

Surprisingly I was pretty calm. Decided there wasn't much I could do about & getting to the airport was more important.

We have autumn now. When we left for OZ it was lovely fine weather. the week we were away it rained & now we're back its cold with showers. Looks like winter is arriving early :sad1: .

Calm is good - especially when you couldn't do anything about it. I would not have been calm though although I did have my AmEx stolen once (got right in my wallet and took it) but AmEx was awesome, stopped the card and life was good.

Sorry about your impending season change - I hate cool and rain, spells headaches for me. Somehow or other, we have had a pretty dry spring but that means the fire alerts are high.

Well everyone - it is hump day! I have a dentist appointment in a little while for a cleaning (YUK) but I will go and be good (well, I will try). Have a good day.
