10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

Hope everyone had a good weekend. it was almost 60 today!!!! But now the rasin is going to start and then drop in the teens again. At least a few warm days. Have a great week at work

I just paid the deposit for our first Disney Cruise. We got the SPH rooms connecting 5022&5024. :goodvibes We will be celebrating our oldest son's
13th birthday on 10/5. Our other children will be 8 and 5 for the cruise. It's a surprise so :ssst: I can not wait...let the planning begin.

Donna
Glad you will be with us. We are all going to have a great time. We are in connecting rooms on 7. have been calling every few days to check on sphr, they have been sold out with each call. Glad you were able to get them. Have a great week.

Welcome Donna!

Planning a cruise is ALMOST the best part! Love the Magic and Wonder as you can tell by my signature.

Hope 2007 flies by!!!

Welcome Donna and family! Great to have you along.

Hope this finds everyone else doing well and staying warm. We didn't get hit with any snow this week - or to speak of anyway, maybe another inch. I live where we typically get about 200 inches each winter but we have been off that the past few years and at this point, way off the mark for this year.

I like the "Buchaneers take the West". My creative juices just aren't getting anywhere because all I could think of was DIS Buchaneers - Westward Ho! but we are not a wagon train! They I trid to bet DIS into Buchaneers but that is either DISaneers or BuchanDISers or Buchaneer DISers and none really hit the mark (sound like some sort of ear ache of riding a bucking bronco).

Well, enjoy your day. No school here tomorrow (lucky kids) but I have to work.

Hope All Are Haveing A Great Week. The Weather Has Finially Gotten Waarm For Us. In The 70s Yesterday. Have A Great Rest Of The Week
Kim

Hello Everyone!

It is warming up in mid-Michigan. A "mild" 17 degrees tonight!

Enjoy the upcoming weekend.

Jan

And we are another Saturday closer to our sailing. Cadillac must be in a rut - it was 12 last week when I posted and it is 12 degrees now. We did have sort of a warm spell, it was actually in the 30's earlier this week but then the winds came and it is cold again.

Getting ready to travel for work - heading north and then to San Diego a week from Friday for a conference. I hope that I get to enjoy a little of the warm weather before returning. I am pretty tolerant of the cold until April then it is time for spring - just that my idea of spring and spring in northern MI are totally different.:confused3

Everyone catch the news about the two new ships? Wonder (no pun intended) what their itineraries will be. I know a lot of folks would like to go to Alaska but unless they build one with that in mind (covered pools) that won't be an option. We did Alaska on Princess in 2003 and I don't think we ever even went in the pool - hot tub yes but no pool.

Well my fellow Buc's - have an awesome weekend.

Good Morning!! It's Saturday!!! We are heading to the Detroit suburbs. Taking a friend out to lunch, then picking up 2 granddaughters who will spend the night with us.

I'll change our thread title to the Buchaneers Take the West!

Jan - Stay save on your :car: ride to Detroit and have fun with your granddaughters.

Good Morning fellow Bucc's. I was reading through some other threads and realized I had forgotten that our cruise will be just after the longest drydock in the Magic's history. OK so it's only been in once or twice before ;) but I was curious if anyone has any worries or excitement due to the drydock?

Can't time go faster!!!:cool1:

I don't have any worries - even if we were on the cruise right after drydock I would be fine with that. It will be interesting to see what they do. The Wonder went into drydock after our 11 day last year and they were supposed to add some sort of waterfall from one of the hot tubs in the adult area that went right into the pool and then there was the toddler pool addition but that is all I can remember.

Ok - so are we going to be known as the Bucc's? I like that. Have a good day and stay safe - we have an ice storm on the way. Jan - I hope that you just got rain.

That sounds nice! Hopefully we can get internet in the rooms as well. This way I can simply check my email in the morning instead of carrying my laptop and cord around, hook up, connect, etc., etc.

Bucc's sounds fine with me. Maybe it can be The Bucc's Take the West!?
Trying it on for size! :lmao:

Hello Buccs!

I like the name Buccs.

Being the first cruise post-drydock doesn't bother me either. I've read posts about cruisers complaining just before drydock when the ship is getting prepped for drydock. Will be fun to see the changes first hand rather than on the DIS board. Won't next year be the 8th drydock for the Magic? Seems like the ships alternate years.

Mostly rain in our area, Gail. How about in Cadillac?

My DH and Sean (almost 3) and Samie (8 months) are spending the weekend with us. Can't wait for Friday night to get here.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Crappy weather here - we got snow (both white and brown), 40 mph wind gusts, sleet, freezing rain and ice pellets yesterday. It is much better today - schools closed at noon yesterday and are cancelled today - in fact, 102 districts are closed today. The eastern portion of the mitt is getting it now but I dont' think we will have much today.

I leave for a client site early Sunday morning, return Wednesday evening and then head out to San Diego for a conference next Friday morning. So my weekend this week will be getting the house and laundry ready for me to be gone a few days and then I have to come back and get it ready again! Wears me out thinking about it!

Take care fellow Bucc's - I should have access while I am gone so I can keep in touch. Jan - enjoy Sean and Samie this weekend.

Bad weather here too. We are only getting rain though. Floods and wetness.
Keep a smile fellow Bucc's, just remember the sunshine awaitng us!
:beach:

We have had pretty bad weather here also. Lots of rain and thunderstorms yesterday. Several tornados around the area but thank goodness none here. Sent kids home from school early yesterday just incase. Hope we all get better weather soon.

Everyone have a great weekend. We have first baseball game of the year on sunday. Oldest DS playes for his Middle School, they were rained out yesterday, but making up tomorrow. Wish them all good luck.

Talk to you all soon
Kim

Right now we have the Wonder for 10-12-08 booked, but I just got DD's school schedules for the next 2 school years and so.....We may be able to do the western like we wanted!!:cool1:

The week of 10-4-08 she would only miss 2 days of school!! They added some days off in October!!!:cool1: :cool1:

We have done the Wonder twice and the Magic Eastern and really wanted to try the Western. We usually sail the 3rd week of October, but with these changes we could sail with you guys!!

I will lose the SPR room that I have booked on the Wonder, but that is ok. Maybe booking so early we will get an upgrade.

I will keep you guys posted if we change sailings. Glad to see there is already a thread started!!!:thumbsup2

Hi Michelle: Hope you and your family join us! As many Magic cruises we've been on, this will be our first western.

Have a great day everyone!

Jan
