Hi Everyone! Can you believe its only 11 days till we sail away!!!! Sorry I havent been on, it appears my Android Device doesnt like for me to sign in apparently, but I've been reading the posts! I'm up for the meet, pending the special Halloween offerings that might be going on. My budget has been somewhat constrained unexpectedly, so we may be just hanging around the ship on the Nassau day after some exploration. FYI for those like me who will be traveling down the weekend of the cruise: Jacksonville traffic COULD be bad and Police will be patroling heavily in the area! Especially avoid being there from noon to 4 and 7pm on. The Florida Georgia football game will be in Jacksonville at 3:30 Sat and its billed as "the worlds largest outdoor Cocktail Party" for a reason. If you have to be there, DEFINATELY take I-295 around the downtown area and keep the speed down. I hope to make it through before noon Sat.
I spent this morning (2 full days off with NOTHING to do or place to go!) reading a recent trip report, and am now SOOOOO ready to board the ship! DS has apparently been the same, as his mom told me he has been talking about it no-stop for the last 2 weeks! I was a bit worried the dreaded "teenager-dom" might diminish the thrill of a Disney cruise somewhat, but thats not the case thakfully!
Well, see you all there! Dont know what our costumes will be yet, but we will have our Pin Lanyards on so come up and say Hi if you see us before the meet! {Mine are Disney Villians and NBC, he will probably wear his Figment lanyard( every Figment pin my CM friend could find!)}

I have a question. Are people bringing a Halloween costume and a pirate costume or just one or the other? I was just bringing a pirate costume now I don't know?

We're bringing non-pirate costumes (except my DSIL, who is going to be a pirate for Halloween), and suddenly I'm feeling pirate-deficient. How piratey do people get? Does DCL hand out bandanas or something, or am I just imagining that I read that somewhere?

On pirate night you get a bandana at the dinner sitting, it is small for an adult but OK for a child.

I was wondering how many teens were coming from this thread? And do any of the teens like Harry Potter or Doctor Who/Torchwood? I'm rather obsessed with them. Rather obsessed may even be an understatement. xD

This is my seventh cruise. I know it'll be great.

Hi, Sara, from my memory, i believe we have a few teens so far. one your age and a few in the 13 and 14 range. My son is definately a Potter fan also. He would prob. be into the others you mentioned, but dont think he has an opportunity to watch them that much. Good to see a few more teens he can hang with and get to know in Aloft!

Only a week to go! now if I can just find costumes for this picky teen! got mine ready to go; stumbled into a GREAT costume for Pirate night. "He lives with Col. Sanders down in Davy Jones' Locker"! Now if this kid doesn't pick one soon I'm gonna buy him the Disney Prince Charming costume I saw! lol; he would be MORTIFIED! Knowing his luck, he'd wear it and meet a really cute Cinderella!

I've been struggling with this one Tony; but went to the Halloween store yesterday and broke down decided to do both. found a fantastic deal on Pirate costumes and already had one for Halloween. decided to just go ahead and spring for it. Prob. comes down to whether or not you have enuff room in your luggage! Are you down in the world yet? Have a great time!!!!! Those of us who have to work this week are SO jealous!

Well my kids are bringing 2 costumes, and we adults are just bringing the basic costumes, like a witch hat and a pirate eye patch. Plus since we are staying at Universal a couple of nights we have our Potter garb too.

I am not just getting around to checking out the dinner dress code and noticed jeans are not to be worn in the dinner. How true is that? or how strict is that? Do I need to pack day and evening wear for the cruise?
