Hey Y'all: We checked in last night and got a port arrival time of 10:30 . . . but . . . is it even possible to take DCL bus from a Disney resort (the Beach Club Villas is where we'll be) and arrive that early at the cruise terminal? I'm thinking no. Just via private transport?
You don't absolutely have to be thare at that time. If you take the Disney transportation you will arrive much later, but it won't affect your ability to board the ship; in fact there probably won't be any line to board by then. But if you want to be at the port by 10:30, you will need to figure out your own transportation, because DCL transfers will not get you there that early.
You definitely don't have to be there at that time. And DCL transfers won't get you there that early. But that time assigns your boarding group. You' be able to walk right on when you did get there.
This what we did...granted it is not for everyone but worked for us for our cruise last month. We had 7 people including an infant so we rented a van from MCO to the Beach Club. Spent the night at the Beach Club and then dropped the van off back at MCO on the morning of the cruise because I wanted to be at the port early. So, dropped the car at MCO and took the DCL bus from there to the port. Got to the port by 10:15. The Van was only $69 split between 3 families so didn't mind having the extra cost for the convenience of having it at the Beach Club.
